AMD mocks Nvidia in their Event
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 2 ноя 2022
- AMD Recently Held the November 3rd Event, revealing their next-generation of GPU's; The AMD Radeon RX 7900XTX and The AMD Radeon RX 7900XT, with 1.7X performance gain and very impressive power efficiency, this event was extremely funny to me because they simply kept dissing Nvidia's design choice with RTX 4090's outdated display port and bad power display. Competition is good, now we'll have wait for the benchmarks to see how good it performs...

What really amazes me about the new cards from AMD is how... Energy efficient they are? Performance per watt is way higher than what Nvidia offers, which is really nice!
Newer tech (from TSMC) which allowed them to reduce transistor sizes and much better efficiency per watt.
Nvidia would probably step up to the competition soon
@Jan Nvidia actually has superior tech this time they have tsmc n4 node while AMD has n5+n6
@@ZynthWaves and how big of a difference does that "superior tech" make? do we actually need 600w of power draw, burning power connectors, a huge case and insane cooling just to push 300 fps instead of 220? amd are smarter here since they realize that most people don't need the performance of a 4090, and they definetly do not need the price of one either. if amd are being honest with their presentation, the 7900XTX is not far from the 4090, and beats the shit out of it in terms of efficiency and price.
it glads me to see that intel and amd shine light on nvidia's scummy pricing practices.
@@ZynthWaves yes maybe NVIDIA has access to more better tech, but it's just half of the equation: hardware-to-firmware optimization is flawless now on newer AMD units. The AMD strategy isn't they're trying to one-up NVIDIA's chips but to have price-to-performance ratio PER WATT (almost same strategy/pattern as Apple's) so you get your money's worth per wattage not wasted.
Unlike most NVIDIA and (some) Intel chips, a newer Radeon or Ryzen will not require you to tap to a nearby power plant, at least for now.

@@teapouter6109 No, TBP is an estimation of expected power usage of the reference model, not a hard limit. AIB partners can build cards using the same GPU with higher power limits if they want to. When they do this, they normally don't bother to update the advertised TBP, even though the actual power usage is typically 50-100W higher.
For example, the AMD RX 6900 XT uses about 300W under full load (which is the RX 6900 XT's TBP/TDP), but the MSI RX 6900 XT Gaming X Trio uses about 360W under full load.
AMD does enforce a maximum power limit, but this limit is normally a lot higher than the official TBP and won't affect most models of the GPU (though can cause problems for extreme overclockers or extremely high-end liquid-cooled cards - I remember Buildzoid complaining that the RX 6900 XT's power limit is too low).
@@teapouter6109 AFAIK, the reference model is a bit underclocked so that AMD can advertise that really good perf/watt and smaller form factor, then some AIB models will go nuts with max power and literal 4090 coolers. If this never changes, I'm getting an AMD GPU. Nvidia is good only for Ray Tracing and DLSS. AMD HAS PURE PRICE TO PERFORMANCE!!!
Nvidia is also the only reasonable choice for 3d graphic software.
In Blender, rx 7900 xtx (1200$ for used) performs significantly worse than a 4070 (550$ for used)
@@ItsVentane 1200$ for a used 7900 xtx ? just got mine brand new for that price from Asus

the 4090 might beat the 7900 xtx at most things, but the cost difference and the power consumption makes amds gpu the superior product
I wouldn't go that far. 4090 is still the fastest GPU on the market. They can charge a premium price if they have a premium product. The 4080 is in a world of hurt though. 4080 will be slower than 7900XTX and cost more at the same time.
4090 will still dominate, but 7900 xt(x) will prove to obsolete all beneath 4090
@@johnc8327 Would you buy 4090 if the difference is of just 10 fps? Besides 4090 has so many problems surrounding it. Its like everyday some new problem is coming up whether its the heat issue or the power.
@@AakashSharma-le8pm I already bought a 4090, but yes. I would still buy one if 4090 is 20% faster. 20% faster may be the difference between 50fps and 60fps in more demanding games. 7900XTX is still a great card though.
@@johnc8327 doesnt look like it is 20% though, more like 5% and AMD likely wins in AMD optimised titles
Well, this year is GPU's time for AMD. In terms of market adoption, their CPU might hit some speed bump, but their GPU could soar.
This aged poorly.
Why?
AMD just proving here to the world that manufacturing costs have not risen like Nvidia says they have.
Chiplets make the GPU die be roughly half the cost compared to Nvidia
$1000 for an inferior product. Enjoy
Its still 1000$,way too much even for a flagship. Remember the 980Ti ? It was 650$ on release
@@elrymoe but that time manufacturing cost was also much lower on a much cheaper node with less R&D. If you even adjust the inflation you will get the real price of a 980Ti. So it's expansive but for the current market condition it's a much much better and aggressive pricing by AMD.

@@MaggotCZ Nvidia in the consumer space is laughable... they haven't considered Gamers first since the 2010s, it's all been server sector as far as they are concerned, they drive their interests now. In what sense is AMD winning 🥇? Or are you just supporting the 'current thing'?
@@MaggotCZ you simplify it too much. It depends on how much slower and how much less money. Using an exaggerated example, 1% slower for 50% less money.... that would still qualify as "murdering". So yeah it depends on the degree.

That guy in the crowd *NO WAYYY OOOOHHHHHHHHH* he came when he saw the price 🤣
I like how the Amd guy is wearing his everyday Adidas drip. He's from the streets yo
Well the thing is, the 4090 is very likely stronger than the 7900XTX, it's not a coincidence that AMD didn't use any relative comparison charts against the 4090, because it can't beat it in raster and especially ray tracing. There is no miracle, if the XTX could stand toe to toe with the 4090, amd would not hesitate to price it at least 1200. So now, their strategy is to compete with the 4080, delivering more performance and better price.
6900xt and 6950xt were weaker than 3090 ti's at start, a few months later they were decimating them everywhere except RTX... expect the same.
Is ray tracing really that important to you? I havent used it at all so far...
Depends on how much slower the 7900XTX is from the 4090. If it is around 5-10% slower I consider that a win for AMD. If it is around 15-20% Slower. NGreedia holds the 👑.

I'm getting flashbacks to 2013 Sony (PS4) vs Microsoft(XB1) , when Microsoft announced first and totally botched it then Sony came in after looking like a knight in shining armor for the gaming community.
At the differenxe that sony was more powerful and cheaper ... Here it's cheaper, less powerful, probably better perf per watt but that's unsure, a 4090 is generally under 400w ...
For me they used lot's of words to mask they're behind in term of performance.
However having competition is good for us
@@vince207 Let's be honest here their performance gap wasn't the biggest deal for the consoles and why people were upset with Microsoft. The performance gap hardly mattered in the grand scheme of things, both games have near identical visuals and frame rates they played at. I think everyone understands that the AMD cards will be less powerful. It's about the value, features, and what they are doing right in the face of everything Nvidia has been doing wrong. Similar to the release of the PS4 and the Xbox one, Sony made all the right decisions in light of all the wrong/poor decisions Microsoft made, and performance was a only a piece of it.

the fact it's destroying every other gpu in performance for games, does in fact mean it can be labeled as a gpu for gaming.
it's a non important card for those who don't, say, want to play cyberpunk 2077 at 4k max settings with max rtx + mods at a smooth framerate, but on the inverse, it is important for those who do, and also for those who want this similar performance for other graphically impressive and demanding games down the line.
Huh? It's the other way around Nvidia IS for gaming, these AMD cards are geared toward crypto mining, that's why the presentation focused on efficiency so much. You're likely not going to see an AMD card for sale for 6 months as the crypto mining operations all update their rigs with AMD cards.
