    I bought the Duo a week ago. It is very good, but it's a huge oversight that there is NO limiter and that the Master Compellor only works on the ENTIRE output (so it compresses the Desktop audio too which just doesn't sound right...)
    Since I like yelling into the microphone in my videos, I tried doing it on the Duo without the Compellor and my ears almost exploded. :(
    If only there was a way to have an actual Limiter setting or have the Compellor only affect your mic sound - the Rodecaster would be basically the best audio hardware for RUclipsrs EVER.

      Thanks for the suggestion, @RADALGANG, will pass it onto the team. The closest we have at the moment would be using the compressor on your tracks and setting the ratio to 4.5:1, but it sounds like you're aware of that method already!

    As a content creator I beg you rode! Please implement these features. I just received my rodecasterduo today and now I'm considering returning it for a goxlr because of the following:
    1. Can the RODEcaster Pro II control application level volume such as Spotify, Google Chrome, Discord, etc. using the physical faders on the device like the GoXLR can?
    2. Does the RODEcaster Pro II capture sound on the fly that can then be replayed using the smart pads. (Like the goxlr)
    3. From what I understand, the current RODEcaster Pro II firmware has a “Chat” software output similar to the GoXLR. Are there plans to add other outputs similar to the GoXLR such as “System”, “Music”, and “Game” outputs?

    • @rodemic
      @rodemic  Год назад +8

      1. Using the RCP2 currently, there are up to five different channels you can use as inputs from different PC audio sources. Here's a quick guide to help you understand and use these existing capabilities:
      • USB1 Input: This input has two separate channels - "main" and "chat". You could route different audio sources through these two channels. For example, you could use "main" for your game audio and "chat" for any VoIP application like Discord or Zoom.
      • USB2 Input: This channel can be used for any other audio source that you want to separate from the ones routed through USB1. This could be your music or any other sound you want to bring into your stream.
      • PC Line Out: If your PC has a line out, you can use this as an input into the RØDECaster Pro II. This can be useful for routing audio that isn't easily directed through a USB input, such as browser audio or system sounds. If you've never used your PC's line out output before, it's an 3.5mm headphone-style jack which is right next to your PC's headphone jack.
      • Bluetooth Input: This allows you to route audio from any Bluetooth-capable device.
      In order to route these sound sources in Windows, you will need to go to the Sound Control Panel. Here's a quick step-by-step guide:
      • Right-click on the speaker icon in your system tray and choose "Open Sound settings."
      • Scroll down to "Advanced sound options" and click on "App volume and device preferences."
      • Here you can control the output and input devices for each of your open applications. You can choose where you want each sound source to go, whether that be the "main" or "chat" channel on your USB1 input, your USB2 input, your line out, or your Bluetooth input.
      There’s been a lot of discussion about this issue and we hear you loud and clear. We understand that you're eagerly awaiting the update that will allow the addition of extra virtual devices through the USB inputs.
      2. Yes- create a new SMART Pad, and then hit record.
      3. Yes- this functionality will be coming in a future update as previously mentioned.

    I have both units and have been testing out the Duo. I was wondering if it was normal that some of the settings cant be matched to my RCP2 EQ settings, for example trying to match the (Exciter) i noticed that i can do a 70hz cut on the RCP2 and on the Duo it goes from 68hz to 72hz and anything in-between is not there. Not sure if thats normal for the duo. Im going to be making s video soon explaining that and hopefully that can allow you guys to get some user feeback and we can all work together to make the Duo an even better experience for everyone who buys it. I love mine so far and i havent really found much that would make me want to send it back.

    • @kaamostruecrime
      @kaamostruecrime Год назад +2

      It's probably because the software is made for RCP II and its physical controls, but the amount that the Duo's physical knobs turn isn't the same so the values end up different.

    • @THEAVERAGEGUY1983
      @THEAVERAGEGUY1983 Год назад

      @kaamostruecrime right on, thats what i was starting to think. I figured it was worth mentioning to see if this was normal for the little unit to do based on perhaps Hardware limitations. Its not a deal breaker for me but others may not like that the unit skips frequency range that way.

    Add a limiter and a *downwards expander* to these two devices please. A downwards expander is really helpful to attenuate moderate background noise and improve the audio signal even further. Currently, when the noise gate opens it's just open and there's nothing that attenuates background noise with a certain type of ratio. Push this to the team and make it happen, it will be huge for this product, an extra layer of noise removal.

    Can you connect the Rode Wireless Go II in addition to the 4 analog mic inputs to get 2 additional mic inputs? How many total (analog + wireless) mics can you connect to the Rodecaster Pro II?

    • @rodemic
      @rodemic  Год назад +3

      The RØDECaster Pro II's inbuilt wireless receiver currently allows you to connect up to 2x Series IV wireless transmitters, for right now these take up a physical mic inputs on your faders, so the maximum number of mic inputs still remains 4. We are working on a firmware update to provide USB mic hosting so that this can be expanded, however so stay tuned for more updates!

    my question is on the DUO: if I have both microphone inputs, can I also use my wireless go AND have a phone call go thru all at once? That would make it 4 audios used at the same time on the duo. Is that possible?

    • @rodemic
      @rodemic  Год назад +1

      So with the current configuration, you can connect your phone via the Bluetooth or USB2 connection, but you can't have more than two physical mic inputs (not inc. the headset) on the Duo. This means you will need to use your wireless receiver connected to the front headset jack (via TRS to TRRS cable - like the SC7), to use all four devices at once.

    So with the Wireless Go connection available, can the Duo actually handle 4 audio inputs? 2 analog mics and 2 from Wireless Go in split mode?

    • @rodemic
      @rodemic  Год назад +1

      Hey Todd- the way the internal reciever is currently setup in the Duo and Pro II, it can only replace an existing mic channel. And although these devices now support USB mics like the PodMic USB, this support does not extend to the recievers of Wireless devices at this time. So not quite 4 inputs, although, if you had a Wireless GO II, and a USB mic like a PodMic USB, you could easily get 3 inputs.

      Hey there, the headphone output power of the RØDECaster Duo is 250mW, so yes, that will be enough to power 250ohm headphones. There are also different headphone modes (high sensitivity, low sensitivity) on the RØDECaster Duo to power different types of headphones.

    So 2 years ago the Rode procaster 2 was released.
    Since then people have been requesting more virtual channels
    FOR 2 YEARS!
    And you still have nothing to show for it? why is the development of the firmware and support for the hardware so slow?

    hmmmm Rodecaster DUO (555€) vs Rodecaster Pro II (659€) sry but i would always recommend the Rodecaster Pro II
    The price difference is too small to forgo the features of the Rodecaster Pro II.

    Only having 3 virtual channels is super underwhelming for any streamer. Especially when to use all three for three different programs you have to actually plug both usb c's to one pc. Just update it with 4-6 virtual channels per usb and we're talking a superb product for streamers, but as it stands its lackluster sadly.

      Thanks for the feedback - we are developing firmware updates which will give people who are after more virtual channels over USB even more flexibility, which we will be rolling out soon!

    hi red things over things that could make things easier show sounds or mic a little too low or high they could be nice with pucenters then you can house show you duck something straight ducks the ones at the back easy adjust the sound to the style you wanted probably a little too big ing perhaps, but I think they are only good for headphones and a mic so that you can have the exact sounds you want to hit

    Can the Rodecasters accept line-level inputs, like synths? You show a band at 0:28 but it isn't clear what is plugged into the Rodecaster.

    Half the inputs+an additional headphone jack output+convenient size for more than half the price. It really comes down to convenient size only. From a smart purchase pov, which can the less, can the more. But if you go low and find yourself to need more later, you're stuck.
