That on the go live no latency audio processing, rather then the voicemeeter software, is a huge plus for me,, so much that it justifies this 500 dollar purchase I plan to invest on soon.
Honestly this mixer should have included the audio mini jack so audio sources for DJs etc can connect with a stereo signal directly. Hoping someone can see the need for this and include it
nice review. the one thing that its missing is a software for streaming capabilities i.e something like the GoXLR which has a Mic, Chat, Music, Game, Console, Line in, Line out, System and Sample virtual audio control which can be applied to any of the 4 faders on the device. if Rode had that on this device it would be THE perfect device for majority of cases.
This is what I'm currently researching... I have no idea if this product has a downward expander, attenuating low background noise even further. To be used in combination with all of the other processes in the signal chain, compressor, noise gate, de-esser, etc... If it doesn't have a downward expander the listener will keep hearing background noise every time the noise gate opens. This is kind of a deal breaker...
Hey what a nice video, now I really want to get one of these, but I've seen many people complain it doesnt have real time monitoring and a considerable delay, what is your take on this matter?
Hello. Can you recommend an audio interface for live broadcast and dubbing? If possible, you can also give microphone advice. My total budget for the audio interface and microphone is $1,000. I don't want to spend more than I need. I'm very undecided and I can't decide whether I should buy a Rodecaster Duo style product or whether the ID14 will do the job as well. I would be happy if you help
One thing that stops me from upgrading is the lack of line-in without sacrificing mic inputs. I would love to have usb to 3.5mm adapter for those cases when you need an additional analog signal.
This is my hangup as well. Lack of non-mic analogue inputs. granted, i can very likely get away with using the 2nd mic input for this and it wont be that big a deal. but still, would have been nice to have an Analogue Line-in port on the back.
@@lyianx oh you absolutely can but it will be mono so you cannot even connect stereo output from dj controller (or any other modern stereo audio source) to duo
@@lyianx Same here but i dove in and its emotional.... but I literally never used the 2nd mic input on my Gen 1 or GoXLR and I only used one analog Input. lmao just do it!
Awesome review. You have a lot of echo in your studio. Your Shure SM7B seems to handle it very well while the wireless Rode mics were struggling. Is there any in-build software in Rodecaster DUO to heavily reduce echo? I'm normally using the echo remover plugin from Crumple Pop in post - but it isn't great and it often crashes - and it is of no use for live streaming.
Hey I had the RODECaster Pro II and have since swapped it out for the RODECaster Duo so I can weigh in here. Unfortunately neither device has any onboard processing effect capable of reducing or suppressing microphone echo.
I already bought a mic. Its USB and i use it for gaming with my pc. Its not Rode brand unfortunately. Could i use a USB to 3.5mm adapter for it to be compatible?
@@AngelOfSuburbiaTV right and I want the duo. I'm hoping an adapter to 3.5mm or XLR will work. I don't want to spend money and find out later so I'm hoping someone knows
USB mics don't work natively with the Rodecaster products - if your USB mic has a 3.5mm Line/headphone out, you could potentially use that to send an analog signal to one of the Rodecaster Duo's inputs using an adapter like the VXLR or a 3.5mm to 1/4" adapter, assuming the mic can power itself.
I don't see any videos on your channel about the RØDECASTER Pro II. I'm wondering if the duo is the smaller version of the original RCP with extra features or is it's a smaller version of the RCP II?
Just a smaller version with less mic input and less smart pads. Also a key difference is the duo doesn’t have a physical record button and instead has a digital one on the touch screen.
Is there active monitoring? Am I able to hear myself through headphones? For closed heaphones as the beyerdynamic? Does it work with 80 ohm headphones?
when you say original do you mean rode caster pro or rode caster pro 2 ? I wanna know the difference in this one and the rode caster pro 2? do I get all these features in the rodecaster pro 2 ?

So, does the Pro II have all of the same features as the Duo, but with two extra inputs?
My only issue is the re-investment for those of us who has the RCP 2. I don’t know if I want to drop 500.00 for another rode product.

I hear that the 3.5 jack in the front can be used as a third mic input as well as the 2 xlr’s could you confirm?
Yes, you can have a total of 4. 2 XLR, one USB mic and the 3.5 jack.
Might be a silly question but is this made to focus more on streaming using mics or so it more focused on music production?
Yes streaming podcasting using mics and or phones ✌️
