Wasnt the entire valley as a whole originally called Derby? That would make sense since I saw the picture of Indian well and it said Derby,ct. so when did Mr. Shelton officially move and start his own town?
Bruh derby got abandoned in 1945 it’s a radiation zone and Russia nuked it also derby is a restricted area there is a 1 in 47 chance you can go to jail for being there

I think that Derby also encompassed Oxford and Woodbridge also. Ansonia was the oldest part of Derby.
