This show overall had been a really great spinoff. I'm a little sad by Cate and Sam's villainous arc, because they were genuine victims. But super satisfying finale. Cant wait for Season 4.
Their villainous side actually makes sense, they were both used and abused. Sam has been abused so much and lost his brother and cate was used to manipulate friends. The people that didn’t side with them didn’t experience the same stuff. Truth be told I sympathised with cate and Sam and feel bad for them
I love how it’s such a closely directed spin off. It really just felt like another season of boys rather than a contrived attempt to parlay off the original properties success.
mostly every evil character in these shows has a tragic or rough background, the worse it is the more evil. HM similar to sam with years of torture but since birth and no family and about 20 more years of life, A train n his rough upbringing fueling his need to stay successful no matter the cost, Deep's fragile ego from being bullied all his life, Butcher's rage from his upbringing and his wife (yes billy is on the evil side of things) Soldier boy and his father so on n so on lol everyone besides stormfront fuck that nazi bitch lmao
This season showed that the downside of V is some sort of neurological breakdown in many forms. Think the neurons exploding when everyone was in Kate's head, Sam's hallucinations, his brother's meltdown, Andre's headaches and his dad's seizures, and it really explained Homelander's general madness and the other supes' psychotic behaviours.
It clearly shows that some people get a bit of the short straw when recieving mass produced V. I do however believe that the supes' psychotic behaviours has more to do with a superiority complex that they've all developed throughout their lives. Like spoiled rich kids who can do whatever they want

Definitely setting up the Supe takeover from the comics. And it makes sense Vaught covered it up that way since Homelander is controlling it through Ashley

The Finale was really good. The suspension and the confusion is killing me now. I was also excited to see Butcher at the end. Can't wait for Season 4 of The Boys.
My only thoughts regarding the ending with homelander is: 1. How does this play with his story line of him being on trial for the murder of the civilian 2. Knowing most of the student body are homelander fans. How does his presence and immediate attack against the guardians get swept under the rug or never mentioned by the present students. Most of them probably saw the guardians stopping and saving others, just for homelander to block their efforts. Seems like something that should be explored with a sentence or two of dialogue.
This. Changing the victims and the killers should not work with hundreds of winesses plus internet. And why would he protect Care abs Sam? They want to destroy Vought and just kill people. And who told homelander which people should be arrested and who are the "heroes"? Someone must have explained him the whole situation.
marie is my favorite character. getting to see her grow so much throughout the season was a sight. and cate was also pretty great, seems like everyone else got put on the back burner this episode but still an amazing episode
I thought Homelander would show up at the massacre at the end and kill them all. I wouldn’t have been surprised if the entire main cast died instead of coming back for boys season 4. Everything I thought would happen did except for the fact that they survived
Solid finale. Definitely sets up the storyline for the virus, homelander killing off the president, Neuman becoming president and the boys taking the godolkin 4 on to take on homelander. Sam may take on Black Noire’s position and potentially being enough to kill homelander.
I agree with all that but I think the only one that can kill Homelander is Marie. The writing is setting that up. I do see similarities between Sam and Nour with seeing characters.
Whats the virus in the comics? Also Home killed president man in comics, so Home vs Newman its possible? Also, who is Sam? I will watch this show as long as i finish my study. Thanks a lot for your time
This show was fantastic. The wait and watch of the finale was insane, i just LOVE how it leads straight into the boys season 4. Hypes me and im sure others up for the future of this universe
@@AgniPunk Idk about all that. Supersonic(Starlight's ex) was a genuinely good guy, despite the fact that he was in the series for such a short amount of time. The most he was guilty of was singing a cheesy, sexually suggestive pop song.
When Andre pulled the stun stick they did a rack focus on his left hand showing his ring finger twitching giving us a visual queue that his brain is far more damaged than we thought.
Sam had black noir posters in his room. And if HL is Infact gonna manipulate them to do his work… maybe he puts Sam in the black noir fit to cover his death. Idk just an idea
5:11, Looking closely, they refer to his power as “Magnetic Telepathy” instead of “Magnetic Telekinesis”, wether due to a production error or (less likely) an intentional error to characterize Vought as somewhat incompetent.
just realised something big, the same way black noir sees cartoon characters of everyone its the same way how sam see's puppets in everyone, sam is 100% new black noir how crazy
Felt like the ending was a little rushed. I was honestly a bit upset of how Sam did a 180 on Emma like that, like mentally hes a emotionally stunted child but damn she never dud him dirty or ever looked down on him. I knew that things would go from bad to worse when Homelander finally showed up.
@@Ziaotic well that's a good point. You only have so many options after being freed from your captors. If they exposed Godolkin University/ Vaught for what it's done it they would have probably killed everyone and gaslight the entire story to the uninformed population. I guess I'm upset that Sam and Kate are the ones being "saved" by Homelander and while Marie and Co are locked up for attempting to save human life.
Its so interesting that emma's power arent food dependent i feel like that is going to be how they escape from whatever facility they are in? Like their captors will limit her diet as a way to control her power, but now we know thats not the only way.
her powers were never food dependent. It's just that whenever she feels "small" she gets small, she hated herself when she threw up but when she started eating she felt good about herself, hence why she became bigger.mSo pretty much empathetic size manipulation.
I don't think they are being held prisoner. That room may not have a door but it wasn't a cell. They aren't locked in individual cells strapped down like we seen in Vaught tower, the forrest and Sage grove. I'm guessing they are being held there for a short time. Maybe it's the CIA or the boys holding them until they can come to an agreement.
Just watched it and honestly that ending was such a massive cliff hanger. I love how Vaught’s first instinct was to call Homelander, a known rogue hero with anti-human sentiments to the scene where supes are murdering non-supes. It will be interesting to see how they develop Cate as a villain more and how Sam will continue to battle with his conscience. He may even get a redemption arc next season.
One thing I’m so confused about with the ending is Cate and Sam being used as marketing products? When they hate Vought? Like wouldn’t they be against Homelander’s narrative?
Same reason homelander is still aligned with vought I guess, bc ppl still run the world in the ways that matter as far as money and perception and their using it until they can take over.
The “Fire Supe” they referenced in an earlier episode wasn’t that guy. It was a girl named Beth (the guard says her name when she brings her food) and we’ve already seen her. She was the first one they tested the virus on. Given that she was shown in that episode to shoot lightning, and that when she’s referenced she can also project fire, it’s safe to assume she has some kind of elemental powers.
What’s scary is we still haven’t seen cate’s full power is, her medication is still having an effect until the last episode On her full power she probably don’t even need to touch someone
Imagine if Homelander’s powers end up being taken away by Marie. She controls blood, meaning she might be able to straight up remove the V from someone’s blood.
Y'all are hyping her powers up way to much. She can't do anything to him, he would kill her instantly. Neuman who has been using her powers a lot longer is terrified of him. He even dared her to try and kill him.
everyone is on different sides in these different situations- but at the end of the day it will always be everyone else versus homelander- I believe Cate and Sam are gonna think Homelander is on their side, in this humans versus supes war they believe is happening, BUT homelander doesn’t care about anyone but himself- he is against supe on supe crime but that doesn’t apply to him- he sees himself as superior to everyone even to other supes!!! everyone is on different sides in these different situations- but at the end of the day it will always be everyone else versus homelander
So do we know whether Luke killed himself out of guilt like he said, or cate pushed Him to and Sam doesn’t know that. Both could drastically change the direction his character could go.
Is it me or was anyone else excited to see Homelander back only to be immediately reminded of how much of a terror he is. The worst villain of all time. Like Hans Lanza but OP as fuck.
btw i dont know if you noticed, but they did show andres ring finger twitching during the part where he tried to get the taser button, indicating he has his father's medical condition
I outright yelled out loud when HL showed up, but the music absolutely worked to remind me that his presence was bad news. I was nonetheless hyped to see him 'cause I didn't entirely expect him to appear. Then he chastised and lasered Marie, and I went, "yep, that's so like him." Just occurred to me, too, that the way Marie and co. got smeared after this season is kind of a mirror to how The Boys were likewise smeared after their first season, on top of the latter having to go into hiding.
I think Marie survived homelanders heat vision because he was told to capture them, not kill them, so he controlled his intensity (as we know he can do)
Hmm, that makes sense… But do you think he really cares what anyone tells him? I feel like if he believes they are horrible criminals for attacking their own kind, he’d rather just take her out. But then again, maybe he had something in mind for her. It’s hard to tell. The writers are really good 😅

It’s very ironic because if the audience viewed this series from the perspective of the supers confined and “aggressively” experimented on, many would be less horrified with the brutal revenge they enact when released. I was surprised with Sam & Cate being promoted by Vought as heroes in the end.
If Marie survived, it means that Newman can't be one shot for Homelander as we always thought. That she wouldn't have time to pop Homelanders head because she can be one shot quickly. But now we now that Newman can figth back, the same way Queen figth back. All these characthers have fear of Homelander because they never tried and think they can get one shot. Sure, Homelander wins against anyone 1v1, but this just proves that a good team up can do the job.
Lmao Marie is way stronger than Newman. It’s the whole reason Newman was curious about what else Marie can do. Newman would struggle making blood constructs she even says it’s exhausting whereas for Marie it’s easy. Notice how Marie’s eyes don’t get foggy blowing body parts up which means she’s not limited like Newman who has to see where she’s gonna do it. We also witnessed Marie have super strength picking up the wing of a helicopter with ease to use as a weapon and then taking a direct laser hit from Homelander and not having a scratch on her? Marie is gonna be one of the most op characters in The Boys just watch.
I assume Homelander wasn't using his full strength he could've killed them yet he captured them however I have feeling the boys are going to bust the 4 of them out to go kill Cate and find out what Homelander is planning also probably infecting them with the virus but also giving the antidote so they can be asymptomatic carriers and be used to wipe out the army before it even forms
One of the things this show and the Boys showcases is concept that the powers have costs! Marvel is quick to show only the hero powers. Seeing that there is a price to the use of powers, ups the scale and greatly adds meaning to the actions taken!
You know one thing that has been stuck in my mind is in the first episode when they are at the bar Andre had a flirtatious stare with a dude hinting he was gay/bi so I thought it was a foreshadow that him and golden boy were hooking up but after that there wasn't anything indicating he was anything but straight. Anyone else catch that? IDK why it stuck out to me so much
Sam taking over the black noir role is a cool idea but idk if he'd work for that given his mental state. Ik the og noir wasn't exactly 100% in that department but i feel like sam is too uncontrollable for them to work with.
The Gen V spin off was incredible, and i cannot wait for season 2 to drop, Marie can now do amazing things with her power, which she'll unlock more in the next series. All the cast was just phenomenal. Billy freaking Butcher "My mayhem, rule breaking, risk taking avenger" showed up at the end with the "It's on now assholes" look. The Boyz season 4 will be epic. No show has had us on the edge of our seats like "The Boyz". And this band of Heroes is the reason I love this show from It's inception. 1000/1000. Bring on the carnage and the mayhem, let's goooooo. 😊
Can I just say how amazing this series is and how amazing the boys is. This is how u do a spin-off when I first saw Gen V announced I thought it was just gonna be a show that basically uses the boys name to get viewership and have nothing to do with the actual show but I love how they’ve tied these characters into the overarching story
Around halfway through the massacre, you can hear 'The Wilhelm Scream', that movie industry in-joke that's been a thing for years, where it's a recognisible sound clip of a guy doing a high pitched 'aaahh!'.
Why are people playing down Marie surviving the blast from homelander? Yeah she’s able to cut her own skin, but who’s to say it’s not a conscious choice to purposely make her palms less protected? She’s able to tank hits from other supes with no visible marks. If anyone has played the Halo series of games, it’s like how the Covenant ship shields are pretty much indestructible but if the ship wants to fire it’s weapons it has to temporarily lower the shields so the blast isn’t contained inside the shields protection
I have a different theory. Cate was starting to unlock her powers completely since she’s been off of the meds. I think when Marie blew her arm off Cate was able to push without touching someone and that’s why suddenly Cate and Sam are considered heroes. Maybe Cate pushed Homelander. Just a random theory.
Honestly that’s a cool theory but I think it’s more along the lines of homelander wanting to find out who started the killing of the humans and made those people the heros since he also wants to get rid of the humans thus to him those two were the ACTUAL guardians of the supe kids aka the guardians of Gadulkin
Something I find interesting is that Homelander didn't go for a second shot when the first one didn't kill Marie. Meaning the plan wasn't to kill her like some people are thinking.
The Marie vs Homelander moment was not fully shown. It is said the Marie took the blas t like a champ. I wonder if her power may have another effect which allows Marie a healing factor and/or if she instinctively used her power to either counter Homelander’s harm to her or effect how he actually interacted with her. A slight alteration to his blood chemistry could effect how his power and/or mind works. Just speculating, but there are entities who may find value innMarie being kept alive and developed to be a foil to Homelander, the world needs a control on him.
I think Cate is locking Marie, Andre, Emma, and Jordan in her mind (or Jumanji), just like what she did in episode 6. That's why the room has no doors. And Marie may have her lower body cut off from her by Homelander's laser. She is merely alive.
Bro, the entirety of the series and Godolkin are X-Men parodies.... But, no lie - I didn't catch this, until y'all showed the clip: 00:10:34, Marie runs under the painting, which also symbolically foreshadows the end of the episode and the possible fate of the 4, being locked away under Vought Tower, or under The Seven. Y'all should do a video on why Crimson Countess all of a sudden became a huge deal, when she was never mentioned until Soldier Boy's arrival; also cover the opening scene of The Boys, when Stillwell mentions The G-Men - if I recall correctly, that's who she's talking about at the podium, they have some movie coming out..... Where are they!? Where's Godolkin!?
For some reason the ending with them in a cell doesn’t seem satisfying. The problem with the boys is that the protagonists always end up in a hopeless situation.
The problem is each episode is limited to 30 damn minutes. Which I assume is bc they can't do too much big picture wise without cutting into what they're doing with the boys season 4
It’s because they are supposed to be 2 seasons, that wasn’t the complete ending and thats kind of the point, the boys is more realistic approach to this super hero stuff
Its actually the best way to do Season 4 of the boys. Keep them locked away and keep Cate and Sam out of the eyes of the public. Keeps both series kind of seperate until they need to be joined up.. I assume the 4 will break out, but they just need to keep them locked away until it works with the story.. Since there's no school anymore.
If he deploys it will be done in desperation to defeat the coup part of me think Mallory may do it because a super coup is quite literally the worst thing that can happen
I think ryan will get killed and this pushes homelander compleatly over the edge in S4. He killed one guy after throwing a can at ryan... what happens if someone kills his child? Also, Homelander cant kill Butcher as long as Ryan is there. Ryan and butchers relationship might be broken but ryan still does not want him to die. So homelander cant kill him without loosing his son.
I love the plot twist at the end!! I was rooting for Sam and cate bc their points were too valid.. at the same time I didn’t want Marie or Jordan to get hurt.. that’s how you write characters man. I was so irritated with Marie and Jordan siding with vought.. it felt weirdly amazing seeing how vought will now screw them over for showing the even smallest grain of loyalty like they do with everyone else. Marie and co didn’t deserve to be rewarded for defending a corrupt company who torture and Murder kids.. Bruhh the ending was so satisfying, I just also hope no one dies from the main cast
To people saying Marie tanked that shot from HL, she didn't, he went easy, if you remember he was able to heat milk up without even leaving a mark on the glass. Plus Marie always cuts her self, she's not that durable. Also remember that HL has been training his entire life to hone his powers, they even nuked him once, the only reason we dont see it is because he's lazy , the whole point of HL is to show that no matter how much talent you have, hard work plays a major role in success. In all fights he looks to make it quick
Well, now that the director said he didn’t hold back and she actually took it like a champ, we’re gonna see she’s very durable, and she doesn’t know all of her powers but her body kinda does.

Fr bro. His facial expressions are enough to send a chill down my spine lol like you never know what's he gonna do next and knowing how powerful he is, it's fucking scary
He’s an amazing actor, watch Banshee in Max he’s the main character in that show and of course he’s amazing in it.
Fr the fact you can have such a presence nonverbally is something to be fucking proud of
So true, I feel like I’ve developed a mild ptsd to his presence. Just seeing him terrifies me…
When he flew in I felt like i was in trouble😅
@@astrladam4392yes yes yes.
@@sammayomi5547 sam is kind of another homelander, similar back story so similar outcome
mostly every evil character in these shows has a tragic or rough background, the worse it is the more evil.
And don't forget the effects of the Temporary V. This chemical is poisonous overall.
@@SunshineCasy temp V causes brain problems if you use it long term. It caused Butcher to have 1 year to live due to abuse. Ultimately Giving him cancer
@@SunshineCasy to be fair its still in its early stages Temp V of what butcher and Hughie took it could be less detrimental to your mind but instead the body
@@SunshineCasy my theory of temp V is that it accelerates the natural time it takes for your body to take in the compound V. Thus, taking more harm and damage at a quicker rate.
That's why with temp V they just naturally know how to use their abilities whereas people taking compound V like Marie or even Homelander, find out about it and then develop their powers over time.
Definitely setting up the Supe takeover from the comics. And it makes sense Vaught covered it up that way since Homelander is controlling it through Ashley
I wonder did they already know Marie and the gang knew too much or did cate tell homelander and them everything
I believe Kripke said the Boys has a 5 season plan so S4 is probably the takeover with the Oval Office killing ending the season and S5 being taking out Homelander

The Finale was really good. The suspension and the confusion is killing me now. I was also excited to see Butcher at the end. Can't wait for Season 4 of The Boys.
My only thoughts regarding the ending with homelander is:
1. How does this play with his story line of him being on trial for the murder of the civilian
Disagree! Emma‘s scene this Episode was huge and she’s definitely a fan favourite. But the episode was very short overall.

@@ms.bubs4fun506 I feel like Marie will be the answer to Neuman’s powers. Either Sam or Ryan will take him out.

They use the word telepathy to associate it more with the brain.
just realised something big, the same way black noir sees cartoon characters of everyone its the same way how sam see's puppets in everyone, sam is 100% new black noir how crazy

Interesting how the good guy is basically Magneto and the evil one's powers relate to Xavier.

Regarding emma, no one except emma knows how her powers work, everyone who knows about her powers thinks that it has to do with food
One thing I’m so confused about with the ending is Cate and Sam being used as marketing products? When they hate Vought? Like wouldn’t they be against Homelander’s narrative?
It’s a supe vs human thing. Not Vought. Vought is the mask for the supes now.
@@Psycho18710Vought is the fucking reason Woods existed and they made experiments on them

The ending was confusing. Loved the season. Pinning it on the group was shady though.

What’s scary is we still haven’t seen cate’s full power is, her medication is still having an effect until the last episode
On her full power she probably don’t even need to touch someone
I wonder what if Cate also somehow managed to control homelander to get on her side ?
Imagine if Homelander’s powers end up being taken away by Marie. She controls blood, meaning she might be able to straight up remove the V from someone’s blood.
neuman could do that too, but it'll probably be the virus or homelander's son
@@alili945 I love that it’s very open ended, lots of room to surprise us.
No. Homelander powers are genetic it wouldn't work. That's why he's the most powerful supe, until Ryan matures.
Y'all are hyping her powers up way to much. She can't do anything to him, he would kill her instantly. Neuman who has been using her powers a lot longer is terrified of him. He even dared her to try and kill him.
I don’t think she’d be able to remove the V. She only controls blood, not liquids.
everyone is on different sides in these different situations- but at the end of the day it will always be everyone else versus homelander- I believe Cate and Sam are gonna think Homelander is on their side, in this humans versus supes war they believe is happening, BUT homelander doesn’t care about anyone but himself- he is against supe on supe crime but that doesn’t apply to him- he sees himself as superior to everyone even to other supes!!! everyone is on different sides in these different situations- but at the end of the day it will always be everyone else versus homelander

I outright yelled out loud when HL showed up, but the music absolutely worked to remind me that his presence was bad news. I was nonetheless hyped to see him 'cause I didn't entirely expect him to appear. Then he chastised and lasered Marie, and I went, "yep, that's so like him."
Just occurred to me, too, that the way Marie and co. got smeared after this season is kind of a mirror to how The Boys were likewise smeared after their first season, on top of the latter having to go into hiding.
This episode, This ending and the build up...speechless🔥🔥🔥!!
I think Marie survived homelanders heat vision because he was told to capture them, not kill them, so he controlled his intensity (as we know he can do)
Who told him? HL doesn't answer to anybody anymore. I dont think he wants to kill supes if he can avoid it anymore, his focus is on creating a coup.

Makes you wonder though, what if Marie and Newman both used their powers on homelander at the same time, would that be enough to pop his head?
@@ruzurI was wondering that too. Tried to Google it but no dice.
Tru but also Marie is clearly more powerful than Newman so it’s entirely possible that Marie can take his lasers but Newman cannot lol
@6:08 I don’t believe that was the fire supe from earlier because her name was Betsy and they confirmed Betsy died due to the virus.
Andre used the force to grab the rod like Luke did in Empire Strikes back.
One of the things this show and the Boys showcases is concept that the powers have costs! Marvel is quick to show only the hero powers. Seeing that there is a price to the use of powers, ups the scale and greatly adds meaning to the actions taken!
Man, these breakdowns are dropping quicker than my thumb on the fast forward button during an Opera GX ad. Great work, appreciate all that you do.

Agreed, much better than expected. Very few are commenting on this series, glad you did.
Marie’s powers are crazy. She tracked Maverick by detecting his heartbeat. That’s some God tier shit.
They don’t have to worry too much about backlash from the humans now

Can I just say how amazing this series is and how amazing the boys is. This is how u do a spin-off when I first saw Gen V announced I thought it was just gonna be a show that basically uses the boys name to get viewership and have nothing to do with the actual show but I love how they’ve tied these characters into the overarching story

I like how vaught did Jordan’s hair before locking them up lol
Cate’s transformation after her reunion with Indira makes no sense. Feels like a scene is missing.
Around halfway through the massacre, you can hear 'The Wilhelm Scream', that movie industry in-joke that's been a thing for years, where it's a recognisible sound clip of a guy doing a high pitched 'aaahh!'.
This show was amazing. The Boys universe is so awesome and it's going to be an amazing ride.
I’m not a fan of Sam’s turn against Emma but I enjoyed everything else in the season!
Once you hear that sonic boom from Homelander everyone just stops. You can tell how intimidated everyone is of him.
Good theory! She might’ve gaslighted everyone.
For what it's worth, I don't think Homelander needed to be pushed to do what he did...
It fits with Homelander views on everyone
Honestly that’s a cool theory but I think it’s more along the lines of homelander wanting to find out who started the killing of the humans and made those people the heros since he also wants to get rid of the humans thus to him those two were the ACTUAL guardians of the supe kids aka the guardians of Gadulkin
i don’t think she would need to do any of that for homelander to do what he did…
Something I find interesting is that Homelander didn't go for a second shot when the first one didn't kill Marie. Meaning the plan wasn't to kill her like some people are thinking.
if sam turns out to be black noir it would make sense character wise but not timeline wise
6:10 - Noup, that one died before being freed. Her name was Betsy and she got killed by the virus.
There’s a door above them at 16:41, they might be underground ?
What? The end of your statement was confusing
BINGO! I agree. If Vought had them locked up they’d be in separate cells.
If u look at 16:41 the room has a hatch so it is probably a vought facility but cool theory!!
I don't think she's that strong yet, especially after using her powers so much.

Why does Homelander always look like he just had dental work done?
Why was it 39 minutes?!?
I feel like I’ve had the starter, but where the main dish?
Bro it's not star wars
Butcher to unleash the virus Hughie and StarLight to break out Marie and the rest Sam maybe joining the Seven theres so much to look forward to
All Andre need is the magneto helmet! He'll probably get it next season
17:58 all "head off" to lol 😂🤣
Butcher will definitely not unleash the virus because there is Ryan...unless Ryan dies then yes he will
If he deploys it will be done in desperation to defeat the coup part of me think Mallory may do it because a super coup is quite literally the worst thing that can happen
Bruhh the ending was so satisfying, I just also hope no one dies from the main cast
the transition @ 9:05 = chef's kiss
