      Absolutely. Having some food and rest is always welcome after a tough day hiking. Pretty amazing how the body recovers by the next day.

    New sub here hare here, nice video and good editing, I like the photos interspersed here and there, definitely my style as well. I`m basically doing what you did and trying to watch all the different, excellent content on here for the CW hike with a view to complete it at least before I turn 60, though probably need to get a few more longer hikes under my cagoul first. thanks for sharing, Chin chin. Ps that bacon/sausage balm in Grasmere is definitely something to aim for😋

    Great video, love your determination. We hike in the lakes all the time as we’re lucky to live really close. We intend to hike the Cumbrian way in the summer(as we’ve hiked most of the mountains along the route) we intend to hike the low level route. PS: We’ve subbed too 😊
    Love The Shackletons.

    • @PackBoots
      @PackBoots  2 года назад

      @@PackBoots Yes, it was. It was our second trip to the Valais mountains. We planned to go to Alaska again in 2020 to shoot videos. But due to the travel ban, we postponed Alaska to 2021 and went to the Valais. But 2021 the travel ban was stil active, so we went to the Valais again, haha. And we didn't regret it. There are lots of British people there, by the way. And our rental house was from a Scottish couple :). We now plan for Alaska 2022, we hope it works this time.

    Hi, would you get away with wearing trail runners or are boots needed,

    • @PackBoots
      @PackBoots  2 года назад +1

      I wore trail runners and they worked well. If you’re carrying a heavy pack I’d recommend a pair with more of a stiffer sole. I went for Lone Peak 5s and they were great but started to feel every lump and bump towards the end of the hike. 👍

  • @jonnyp1778
    @jonnyp1778 2 года назад +1

    Would you say the lanshan 2 pro would be suitable for this hike ? I have stronger tents but love the weight on the lanshan

      Absolutely. I took my Lanshan and it was more than adequate. 👍

    • @PackBoots

    Hi
    What litre size was your backpack?

    • @PackBoots
      @PackBoots  2 года назад

      Hi Alan, For this trip I used a very old Berghaus Freeflow 35. However you get an extra 8l when you fill up the side pockets. It was a little tight for space but pretty comfortable. 👍

    • @alanrobinson2229
      @alanrobinson2229 2 года назад +1

      @@PackBoots that's great,I have a 45 and 60 litre bags,but wanted to take 45 as it's got a frame so my back won't sweat.So should be ok with that,am hopefully going in may with my little dog,so a bit of extra weight for dog supplies... 🐕👍

    • @PackBoots
      @PackBoots  2 года назад

      Definitely worth keeping the weight as low as possible as you’ll start to feel it as the mileage increases. Enjoy. You’ll love it! 👍
