PT is great...from the gentle thoughtful ballads, to fingernail removing windmills! If you have it, please post the version of Pure and Easy he talks about after playing Bargain. The Who forever!
he deserves more than a monument- no fucker is half as -interesting/musical/cool/songwriter/guitarist/prophet/timeless/ probably loads more- so far in the history of music
I bet Pete would feel right at home in Bisbee Az.,but whats better is I bet all of us older folk love when the older groups combine their tunes with symphony. For example Procol Harem, playing Conquistador, check it out.
@hillbby I think what you want to hear is "you're right". Unfortunately, the evidence has me thinking that it is absolutely a tribute to finding oneself. Pete talks at length about this song. Additionally, the cover of his FIRST solo album was a photo of Mehar Baba's face.
Though Pete's voice flags a little and the overall effect of the arrangment is rather ethereal (miss Keith's thundering drums!), I still like this rendition on many levels.
I was reading a review of this DVD, and it says that Love Ain't For Keeping is on it. Do you think you could upload that one please? It is my favourite song.
It probably is, but I don't have the DVD. :/ Most likely I have the audio of Love Ain't For Keeping... except from memory it's not even Pete singing, just the backups.
OK I see what he did here. He has his 12 string tuned down a whole step (D,G,C,F,A,D) and he has a capo on the 3rd fret playing A- A7 sus4 then the verse is A-A11(open) to D and every 3rd time he goes C/d to D then I call that a Bargain is F- the best G I ever had -D the best I ever had A- A11--D
The song isn't about a couple though, now is it? You may choose to interpret it that way, but the writer is talking about his devotion to a spiritual leader. Saying "make me one with everything" has a different meaning when you say it to a hot dog vender.
What video is this from....I's gotts to haves this(sic.)! Seriously...please someone tell me. I have internet, I have credit cards, I have the will. :)
You are sadly missing the point. 1 person + 1 person do not just make two persons, they make one of a different entity -- call it a couple, if you will.
I love Pete singing this. You can hear true emotion
Yes! ✨
Pete is amazing. Sometimes I think he makes things so complicated in his head. But when you cut through it, he's simply great.
the best i've ever HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEARDDDD
When I was a young and unlearned Who fan, I thought Roger wrote all the songs. It’s always a pleasure to hear Pete solo sing his own work.
An aboslutely brilliant song!
I first heard this thanks to The Rez band, and it rocks in any version of it!
And this is an artist.. painting a picture, moved with all his emotion, skill, in touch with the human condition, thanks Pete
I don't think they are distracted, I think they're just having fun, which is great to see! Thanks for this vid.
I adore him, he is so passionate ,consummate artist. . . . . keep creating Pete-
Pete Townshend doesn't deserve praises.
He deserves a damn monument!
I never realized this song would song so good when played by an orchestra - man that sounds nice!

Gawd, I love PETE!!! The most AMAZING musician EVER!!!!!!!
i agree. pete isn't a bad singer, but this song is one of the ones that really soared because of daltrey's power.
Best. Bargain. Ever.
he deserves more than a monument- no fucker is half as -interesting/musical/cool/songwriter/guitarist/prophet/timeless/ probably loads more-

This was such an amazing concert!
Evergreen, danke Pete.
Nothing missing. Masterpiece.
Amazing! The Who is the best ever!

Wow! Is that Jody Linscott on percussion? Legend.
They're touring New Zealand and Australia from March 20th to April 4th. Not sure about anywhere else.
Christ!! Pete sings goood
Those are the only two I downloaded from that performance.

The video I've put up as Teenage Wasteland is not Baba O'Riley.
love it, keep expecting the drums to explode...
i love the song, saw the who live in pontiac in 1979 .. but 1 and 1 do in fact make 2 ...truth is truth no matter what a person believes
It probably is, but I don't have the DVD. :/

I dunno, I think Pete did a pretty good job of it.
Well, stick it to the man Tranchera...oh and keep posting these Who videos.
You gotta be kidding! The creator is this song. You have obviously have never written or sang a song or you would appreciate this!
I was thinking the same. The song is still good but I miss Keith's rumbling like a steam engine on the drums.
hmmm - it would still be nice to hear.
It is alright if you don't put it up though, no biggy
yea i see him
XD
Yeah, great song ! But without Keith on the drums, there is something missing.
That's not explained in this clip.

I always get a kick out of the Klopek-looking violinist at 2:48 ha. Love love love this arrangement though.
No ... the lead guitarist is not on camera while he is playing his solos. It's annoying, bad direction.
@hillbby Good music though, ey.
&
those people behind him arent respecting the music they seem distracted..unfocused...
i dont like it
petes a titan
Whoever edited this show needs to be kicked. The lead guitarist is playing his ass off and never once is he shown!
Great musician and songwriter but an awful person, very arrogant and worse of all, he got caught with kiddy porn.
