Thanks! This is great and so well produced. Not too long and annoying but detailed and explained perfectly while hilariously entertaining. Do every song ever! Feels exactly like sitting down with your friend and learning on the couch. Great job!
yes, so many of the videos out there are not aimed at really teaching, but playing like you already are supposed to know how to do something you are trying to learn. egads
the interlude part, right after "ev'rybody's dancin'", i'm just holding my pick in my mouth and quarter-note walking up and down the A and D strings with my thumb & finger to form those. it works (for solo acoustic), and then sounds nice when i start strumming again in verse 2.
At 6:40 you hit the second fret of the A but the tab says 0-1-0. Just a heads up in case you wanna throw a note on that. As always man, you rock. Thanks for your jelly jams.
I tried playing this years ago. But then spent a long time studying jazz and all of a sudden that interlude just popped out. It makes more sense theoretically. Its all in the bass line, A B C# D# D C just inversions of A up and down. Easy peavey. Opps.
Thanks Davvy, another great lesson. Yes I do have stuff to do, like pick-up my guitar and learn how to play a song about how music never stops and stuff.
I’m glad you’re taking the week off. Well explained, but it’s going to take me a while to sit at the table and digest this weeks’ meal you have put before me. Amen!
Thanks for being my friend who teaches me Dead songs …. now my guitar teacher wants to know which of your lessons you think are the easiest for beginners! Love your channel - take care of yourself.
Right on dude, I am getting my first real american strat today, haven't played in like a year and just need a good refresher, partied a little too hard over the last few years and kinda forgot a lot of this stuff. Thanks for the videos
Great video as always. Glad you're taking some time off to focus on your health. Any chance you have any shows the first couple weeks of May? Im gonna be down that way
Killer fuckin voice man. Great playing too, obviously. I have no idea where you live, but I play guitar and sing in a Dead/Allman/Phish style jam band in Charlotte for about four years at this point, and your vocals are so damn great for this style man I'd love to get together sometime if possible. We do some standard jam band covers, but also have several originals as well. So if you ever wanna jam, hit me up lol. If you're interested, I could send you some jam recordings of my band just so you could hear where we're at musically. I think we really have a good sound going, and since we have been playing at least four years now, we have honest-to-god gotten to the point where we can all read each other's minds as we jam. My bassist, keys player, and I have actually been playing together for around seven years that this point, so we all have every movement together on lock. Like for example, I could steer a jam into a new key (or from major to minor/vice versa), and everyone catches on immediately, which is a clearly a really cool ability to have as a jam band. Plus I am always trying to get as much feedback from as many people who enjoy jam bands as I can right now as we plan to record an EP this summer. Here is our latest promo vid we have (more coming soon) on youtube: ruclips.net/video/OFTyUJFwfVs/видео.html You could also check out my insta @sethstrickland instagram.com/sethstrickland/ just to get an idea of my playing as a huge Dead nerd as well if you're interested lol. I love talking to true Dead Head musicians like yourself, so at the very least, I would love to hear your thoughts on some recordings we have done. Love what you're doing, my man. Keep the good times rolling!
they opened the Gorge last July and i thought i was gonna faint, but my dancing my ass off kept me on my feet! now, just now learning the bass, and not really learning much, just goofing off, and now I need some structure.....and have no idea what you are saying! recommendations/youtube for the bass??
on verse A it looks like your playing barre chords for A and C am i right and if so can u tell me what the tabs r i cant tell or find accurate sounding ones online
@@TobyDavvy you're entitled, but that attitude kind of flies in the the face of the title of your video. also, i believe you left out the e7 in the initial verse chord sequence, but, again, i suppose that you'll do what you please.
All the tabs are wrong, they all go E, G, C, D. I tried playing the main verse like you but for me it seems like there is a quick D after the C. You pull it off, but it doesn't work for moi. I have struggled with this song for years, especially the interludes. But I can be pretty lazy. I was like, just google it, idiot! And I landed here. I have seen you around for years. The zoom is really trippy. I'm gonna watch this the next time I dose. Do you ever use JamKazam or anything like that? It would be fun to jam with you. I'm a really good rhythm player...at least I think so. I'm really old too.
There is no better friend than one who teaches you to play Dead songs. The Music Never Stops with Daaaaaavvvvvvvvvyyyyyyyyy!
I made it as far as the interlude, then the gummies kicked in and that’s as far as I’m gonna get for the next hour or two!🥳
i feel seen lmfao im in the same boat right now 3 years later
@@AustinGarafolathis is too real 😂😂
Thanks for another great lesson Davvy. Chill out and meditate - you deserve it. Health first man.

The intro had me SUPER jazzed! Incredible man. Love ya brother!

Well, wait no longer, fam!

Thanks for making this channel to teach us highass deadheads how to whip out some songs...
It’s my pleasure, homie!
I didn't even know my guitar had a fucking 17th fret.
Lmao
Hey Davvy ... any info on the wolf you are playing?
Check my Jerry Rig playlist. There’s 2 vids on the wolf in there
Jerry part in the beginning. 0-2-0 on A string.
truly epic
Oh hell yeah this ones a banger
I’m fuckin’ stoked 😂
really good stuff, but the lead break at the end sounds too allman brothers-ish. maybe play leads in a minor scale.
I’ll do what I please, thanks.
@@TobyDavvy you're entitled, but that attitude kind of flies in the the face of the title of your video. also, i believe you left out the e7 in the initial verse chord sequence, but, again, i suppose that you'll do what you please.

Also I need a friend as well as a guitar teacher, and I think I found him.
Well actually Davvy, it’s not a diminished 7th. It’s the flat 3rd of the fifth root of the inverted 11th. Here they come! Congrats on 4K.
Hahahaha. Amazing
Anybody who is familiar with San Francisco knows that the Great American Music Hall is right next to Mitchell Bros a legendary strip club...
Take care of your chicken, take care of your mentals. Take however long of a break you need. Congrats on 4K!
Sorry….you said not your teacher just as I typed teacher lol. Thanks Phriend
Hey buddy, like your style. Dead head who drops gay cowboy reference while transcribing one of my favorite songs, where have you been all my life?
Bro im trying to figure this out on acid right now
Slam that like boys 4K subscribers!! What’s up!!! I will be devastated if BDE and Gay Cowboy jokes go away!!!!
BDE and GCs are going nowhere.
Thank the Mighty humor fam
Bobby played Fancy Cowboy
Anyone else find it hard to overcome muscle memory and not play E A B instead of EAC?
and then the interlude happened....
🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
Oh f that. I gave it a try….those chords gave me a headache. Lol

Nobody noticed but the bands all packed and gone!!!
