- Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland is located in Lothian on the Firth of Forth’s southern shore and is a center for education especially in the fields of medicine, law, literature and engineering. The city was the first city in the world to have fire service in 1703 and is currently the greenest city in UK, even though its nickname is “Old Smoky” due to an era when the air was full of smoke because of the amount of coal being burnt for heat.

I visited Edinburgh back in 1971 while in the US Navy during the Edinburgh Festival. Truly a magical city.

I've lived in Edinburgh for my whole life and in a few years time I will be moving some where else to start my adult life. I'm only just realizing how lucky I am to live here. Hope to come back some day😁

@CT20 Edinburgh is far nicer than London. I have been to London about 25 times. I have only been to Edinburgh 2 times and that is enough for me to know that the place is far nicer!

I went to Edinburgh a few years ago, its a magical place. Everyday it felt so unreal and it was like I was in a movie. I particularly liked this old library, just being there made me feel like I was 10x smarter.
I remember when I started as a Fresher at EU. We were advised, as we walked around the city streets, always to look upwards, to appreciate the architecture at its best. Excellent advice.
That's good, as long as you don't live in a country that "civilized" people destroy every few decades. Then you don't have very nice facades.

This made me remember my trip to Scotland in 2012, and how I enjoyed. Edinburgh, and the Highlands and a lot of other things coming to mind right now such as to drive on the left that was a little bit caotic at first. I’ll come back some day.

I was in 2015, 5 days in Edinburgh (with a one day trip to Glasgow)
I was in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK with my father in September 2012. It's such a fabulous place. There are lots of castles, etc. I thought people were very friendly.

Moved There** had the time of my life / met my soulmate whom we now have children. This was definitely a risky move at the time (sacrificing what i had) but paid off. Edinburgh is fabulous as it has always been. In my opinion folk living here are blessed x
