Fun fact: The infamous opening narration about bee flight being impossible is false. I'm paraphrasing like nothing other, but basically, some scientist at some point ran the calculations for bee flight, but he did so using the calculations for fixed wing flight (like a jet airliner), despite bee wings moving all over the place in flight. He knew before he ran the numbers that they wouldn't add up and was just doing it for the heck of it. But it got sensationalized in the media somehow, leading to the false impression that bees defy physics by flying despite the math. In other words, a fantastic start for the movie: a meaningless misconception presented as a profound insight.
Sort of, but not exactly. Even if the bees move their wings up and down, the math still doesn't add up. The scientist who made that quote legitimately didn't understand very well why bees could fly at all. And he didn't not run the calculations like it was an airplane. They just assumed their wings were rigid, but they understood it was a back and forth motion. They were certain bees could flap their wings at about 200 hz through sound experiments. But even if bees could flap their wings at a higher frequency, regular back and forth movement cannot generate enough lift. They need a very high frequency closer to 300 hz to do it and assume this would not create vibrations in the air that would make their flight unstable. It wasn't until high speed cameras came around that scientists were able to take a closer look at their flight that they were able to solve the mystery. It turns out not only are their wings not rigid, but their wings follow a half ellipse movement rather than a straight movement like it was previously thought. Their wing bends inwards to catch more air and straightens when returning. With that new geometry, the calculations make sense, but it is quite inefficient.
It's almost like the time when someone on 4chan solved a legendary math formula, just to find the right watch order for Clannad, (that or either Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya).
@@gredystar8333 Another reason the math didn't add up is because fluid dynamics at smaller scales works differently to fluid dynamics on macro scales. @@emigames6248 at least Finding Nemo had a good story that was not all over the place lmao
What do you mean? the bees talk, that's way more unrealistic
@@emigames6248 Because you can go only so far with the unrealism until it becomes absolutely stupid. You can get away with bees speaking English because you need to convey their thoughts somehow. You could get away with a bee surviving after losing its stinger. You can't get away with the whole movie's plot and most characters being completely nonsensical though.
Also, love how You put the subtitles on Ame's screen everytime She reads it.
Idk why it's so damn funny that she just starts reading out all the lines as they happen lmao
Lmao, I remember the tweet she made after the movie, nice to see this because I didn't know she did the watchalong
Loved the gremlin moments she had and the fact she was so done with it that she just went and slept right there at the end 🤣🤣
We need bee ame model again! The person made the model is a genius for putting it into existance!
"This is seriously the plot to Bee Movie? A three year old could come up with a better plot." Yyyyup, pretty much.
I could watch smol ame wave for 16 hours and not get bored
“They wouldn’t let you take that on a plane!”
Gold.
*_"Those aren't even your real parents!"_* ( 6:42 )
When did this suddenly turn into an episode of "Maury?"
This is one of my favorite videos in all of RUclips. Thanks for editing this man!
Wow this movie is actually more crazy then I thought. I wonder why some people's can still seriously write they review about this movie in the comments because the only thing in my mind is this movie is completely insane and Ame 🐝 is cute!!
I really didn't know what the buzz around this movie was about.
Next thing you know, chat is asking BeeAme to re-watch the Bee Movie, with a running commentary, about every single inaccuracy explained.
Yeah... that could be cool.
That was a nice movie watchalong, and thank you for clipping it. Hmm, what movie should ame watch next? I’m thinking the bee movie
5:44 That bear is literally Vincent from Over the Hedge but recolored brown.
Maybe it’s a relative to Vincent?
Can't wait for Ame to rewatch the Bee Movie.
😢
4:21 "I like the way she said that"
Vanessa's dude got NTR-ed by a frickin bee.
At one point in my childhood, i memorized the entire bee movie script from the amount of time I rewatched the movie. I unironically love the film
We can verify Ame is a bee.
"They're *Bee* lingual"
Ina would be proud :,)
Her fingers are so cute! She's precious💙
I've watched Bee Movie a lot during childhood. Like, a lot.
Going to 2023
Wit the WATson
I'm blessed to live in the now
Excellent thumbnail
The fact that she's late on the movie and donno about the game well that was really an og memories
Jesus christ that fact she knows every line is so cute and adorable while in that bee costume 😂😂😂
5:05
Jesus, she was probably making gremlin gagging noises this whole scene...
Now I want Ame to play the Bee Simulator game on Steam
I experienced a memory shock lately by watching a recap of this movie.
I thought I remembered, guess not. This is probably more elaborate and arguably worse than acid trip.
Of course smol Ame is the type of punk to read the subtitles out loud 😆
"Kiara flavored popcorn"
So...just popcorn chicken then.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Does she often just recite dialogue over the characters speaking, or is that just because the script became a meme at some point?
Yes the script is a huge meme
She also does it to help chat to sync the movie, different services tend to have different versions and some are longer/shorter
I would love to see this done with Ina's watchalong of Back to the Future
The bear is actually Vincent from Over the Hedge.
Vanessa- You should sue the human race so you don’t have to make honey anymore.
Also Vanessa- You ruined the world’s ecosystem by suing the humans so you don’t have to make honey anymore. I hope you’re proud of yourself.
Sus…
