You should get Linus from Linustechtips, He knows how to drive stick. It would be fun to see a not really car person drive something like this around the track
Guys, the car is asking for a rounded ducktail rear spoiler. Something out of ebay, cheap, in black, nothing fancy. Just to balance the aesthetics, front and back, I think it would look just right. I like the wheels, the front lip, the ride height... can't wait to see it ripping around the track! I'm so pumped! Great work as always, loved the video.
Thank you! I rocked a built Miata for 13 years and hated the 17" wheels that guys were using. I went with 225 tires because I was over 200whp and needed the traction, but your combo should be fun.
I have the same tires on my car. They are really loud compared to Bridgestone RE002 that I had before. Also Nankangs are quite harsh and don't do good on worn asphalt or in wet (which is expected I guess these are not rain tires). Other than that they are good when you really lean on them, they last quite a while even with 180 treadwear.
The front-end of the NB is growing on me - it's got such a goofy face. Good call on not adding a bunch of crazy vents! Part of the charm of the Miata is its simplicity.
@speedacademy oh finally the wheels..... I really like the konig freeform wheels and way to go on the lip it looks really good. I have to say that this has been on of my favorite builds just because of how simple you have kept it and the fact you are going to allow some other the enjoyment of driving the car.
About the fender rolling. Those "stitch welds" are just spots where seam sealer pushed out of the joint. Get it out of there with a wire wheel and you'll get a clean fold
Love the wheel and tyre package, I think it will be great for the purpose. One note: Miatas do not have a lot of suspension travel and your coilovers do not have extended top hats. I would not go any lower and if you expierence a lot of bottoming out, raise the car or install extended top hats.
Do you guys subscribe to the yellow/red dots on the sidewall which show the lightest and heaviest parts of the tire? Apparently you should alight the yellow dot with the valvestem?
Looking good! I was really hoping to see the Bear rims on it...maybe if you do a VW Cabriolet some day you can find a set for that. Unfortunately that eBay lip will most likely deform in the middle at speeds above 80 mph and start trying to drag the ground. There just isnt any structure in it to keep it from flapping in the breeze. My buddy had one for one track session and promptly removed it. Good choice of tire, quite a few guys here in California are running those in street class.
I like to measure to top of wheel (not tire) to fender when setting up ride height, thats an easy repeatable measurement on all 4 corners. Getting the center of the wheel isn't really accurate since you're eyeballing the center of the wheel...
What happened to "Running and Driving by the end of the video"??🤔 Looks like it will be a fun car to drive!👍 Can't wait for maybe a fan contest to let one of us record our lap time in it???!!! 😁
I was excited that another set of 15x10s made it to the market. Their 9.5 but I'm still tempted to run my 225/45s on those and it'll just be slightly more aggressive than my 6UL
Nicholas Wild may not appear too bad, but most tires in a 225 size are a bit short of being square on a 9. Just judging from my RS3, R1R, Rival and Hoosier A7s.
Let's say, wheel A weights 17lbs and wheel B weights 24lbs. Let's take for granted the tires on each wheel is the same weight/pressure. Is the difference will be noticiable?
Slam it ! Chassis scraping is racing One thing im bummed you sold the m3 there should have been more done with that car to show progression in drifting skills etc My opinion only Good work men
IntervalePC he definitely says it backwards. A bit of dislexia there DP? it’s pretty common, my daughter who’s is 6 writes her name backwards sometimes like this teiluJ but her name is Juliet lol.
Today's engineering explained 3 pounds of wheel weight saving, and 1 inch shorter in height. Gives the car more low. Plus, taking the car lower with the adjustable coil-overs. Car does look great.
No Bears were harmed in the making of this video
I'm disappointed there no bears at all
There is a set of those teddy bear wheels for sale. I want to buy them for my 82 Civic
Race against Dylan Sharpe
Peter@speed.academy
What is the name of the quick jack company?
Speed academy's budget builds are really different from my budget lol
was wondering what the "budget" was too lol

Mike van Esch yes! I’d love to see that
I 3rd this
That'd be hilarious, and yes from me!
Holy shit, YES!
Big fan of Linus. Would love to see this!
Love this series guys!! Keep it up. Maybe when mine is ready we can face-off. HAHAHA Slowest wins
You bet! We'd love to have you up here to drive the car.

Had a look but didnt see anything that would work well. Suggestions?
you just can't beat a konig/nankang wheel and tire package! best performance per dollar! also, i still can't believe Konig finally made a 15x10

The "reasonably priced car" of the north :p and that wheel is BEAUTIFUL! 😍

Agreed, the lip seems like a perfect addition.

Great to hear!

The description of the video is wrong. "205/50R15 Nankang AR-1 Tires" They are NS2-R
Would love to see the savagegeese take this miata around a track
Make sure to tell him that!
Take off the front plate bracket. Love the wheels I’m glad you guys put proper fitment wheels in this miata.
Ontario still requires front plates so if they plan on driving it to TMP they need it
Winding Road/TheTopher collab? Need to come out and set a lap in this with you guys!
About the fender rolling.
Those "stitch welds" are just spots where seam sealer pushed out of the joint. Get it out of there with a wire wheel and you'll get a clean fold
Nice! I just got some SSR Type C’s for my nb miata!
Hey, do you boys have a link for that front lip ? Thanks.
My first thought when I opened the video was, "WHERE DO I GET THAT SHIRT?!"
WWF lol
Me too!

Thanks for the tip!

Get those Straight Pipes boys to come play!

They are very hard to find but would have been very cool indeed
2 commercials? Lol you can bet im never hitting that skip button. Dunno if that helps but anything for this channel✌️.
koniko169 I watch YT on my tv at home. It never shows ads mid-video. 👍
You bet it helps! Thanks for not skipping through em.
Great job you guys did on that NB! Have fun with it!
If you take it lower and dirt drop gonna be a bad time hehe. My drift car is sitting up high if I want to mow some high grass
the older wheel was way more beautiful.. u guys r nuts. that miata was so great when stock
Those are really nice wheels on the car.
Aww man, I was hoping you'd be rocking the Ronal Bears like the thumbnail. oh well
IMO if you put on a front lip, you should do the sides and back aswell, as it looks rather out of place otherwise
Love the wheel color!
That really did come out awesome!
Thanks James!
Looks pretty awesome! I love the wheel poke! Now let's see some track times lol

would love to see goonzsquad give this a go!

Would you guys happen to know if the NS-2R threadwear rating is just a new rating or is it a new compound?
I was excited that another set of 15x10s made it to the market.
Their 9.5 but I'm still tempted to run my 225/45s on those and it'll just be slightly more aggressive than my 6UL
225's are already kinda stretched on a x9.
@@ALMX5DP I've been running 225/45 on my 15x9 6ULs for years and at no point have they ever appeared stretched.....
Nicholas Wild may not appear too bad, but most tires in a 225 size are a bit short of being square on a 9. Just judging from my RS3, R1R, Rival and Hoosier A7s.
Are you going to do an exhaust? If so i think that an isr circuit spec would look great
We werent planning on it but future episode will reveal all
James Pumphrey from Donut Media 🙏🏼 Also love the t-shirt DP 😄
what about blacking out the headlights?
The stance and those wheels 👍
hey, when did you put the roll bar in?
@ 4:10 - But that's not really an asymetrical pattern, it appears the same on both sides - 1 half is just rotated another ~10 degrees on the casing.
I love these videos so much!
looks so good!
Let's say, wheel A weights 17lbs and wheel B weights 24lbs. Let's take for granted the tires on each wheel is the same weight/pressure. Is the difference will be noticiable?
I'd love to see Taylor Ray put your mx5 through its paces
Yes!!
Lol Dave’s shirt was the real star of this episode
That shirt is amazing!
Looks good but that front license plate mount needs to go but holes!
Lovely wheels!! Wish Konig made a size for my Fiesta ST.
*König
Why no video of roll bar install?
looks great guys, loved the og bear wheels in the thumb 😂😂
Kevin Burke. Obviously you need the hot shoe vs the young gun #87
Can ya do a ford lightning second gen next?
What’s going on with the Celica guys? Been way too long since a video on the best car you have 😀
Raise the height to have more weight transfer and make it more challenging for the drivers...
Those are some nice looking wheels!
Do you have a link for the lip?
205 on 8s is faster than 225s on 8s anyway :)
Those rims are beautiful.
An NB miata can fit correct offset 15x10 w/ just a flat fender roll, no flairs needed.
Really depends on tire size though.
@@ALMX5DP Fair point. That's with 245/40/15's
How do I sign up to come drive with the other youtubers?
Sasha vs Jackie for sure!
RIP Mr. Goose's inbox
Slam it ! Chassis scraping is racing
One thing im bummed you sold the m3 there should have been more done with that car to show progression in drifting skills etc
My opinion only
Good work men
Did he say 53.7 @ 6:15 ? I listened to it over a couple of times & it sounds like 53.7.
IntervalePC he definitely says it backwards. A bit of dislexia there DP? it’s pretty common, my daughter who’s is 6 writes her name backwards sometimes like this teiluJ
but her name is Juliet lol.
The ebay lip is the clincher for sure!
Who makes your music?
You guys really need to work on the playlists. Both of the ones I watched were missing videos
GLTC driver vs Time attack driver. I'll love to drive against Jackie.
Put Sasha vs Jackie !!
If find your lack of ronal teddiebears disturbing
Those Konigs are probably still heavier than my Mini R81s, but I doubt you could pack a 205 on a 5.5" wheel very well.
*Königs
I got hyped for the bear wheels 😂😂
16×8 is the best size for a NB.
Jackie vs Emilio :)
I need that t shirt in 4-5x! Where can I get that?
Sweet, so now you're just about ready to invite Rhett and Link out for some fun?
Nice!!
I need one of those shirts.
Your shirt is amazing lol 😂
Today's engineering explained 3 pounds of wheel weight saving, and 1 inch shorter in height. Gives the car more low. Plus, taking the car lower with the adjustable coil-overs. Car does look great.
Eh, front lips sound good until you get them on the car with nothing else to complement it. Hopefully you can get something to balance the look out.
Like a graphics package?
I love the shirts
how dare you click bait me with those Ronal Teddies
I’m not a fan of the music for the montage scenes... but the wheels look nice.
Cant win em all
Has anybody the link on this front lip please ?
i knew we were not gonna get the Ronal Urs.... :(
What’s the meaning of budget build?
Depends on whose budget is is.
dammit not againe! did i get clickbaited with a Photoshoped thumbnail 🥴
Another grate video guys. I say get the guys over at intialSpeed to drive that thing. ;) @SpeedAcademy
Love the shirt lol
Wheels look great, now rip some tec with that thing😅
Get Lance Stroll in the miata
Wheres the bear wheels :(
You say the bigger wheels have more rolling radius but the smaller wheels have more rolling resistance? No? They are wider
Same wheels as a hot wheels car. But looks good.
It’s all about sponsor build
