Just built a 6.0 with ls3 heads done by advance induction. 11.1 cr with matched cam to heads, gz vacuum pump, stock ls3 intake 90 mm TB 70 lb injectors racetronic fuel system and other normal bolt ons. 4l80 with Ford 9" 430 gears and made 550 rwhp N.A. 93 pump gas. There is nothing better to build for the money than an LS! GREAT VIDEO GUYS!
This couldn't be more relevant right now. I have an lq4 that I just installed some cleaned up 243s and an 1840 cam. Looking to make an engine with a healthy powerband and anything close to 400hp. Seeing your numbers makes me think i'm on the right track, I just hope my lower comp doesn't kill too much power. I'm definitely gonna check out your other vids.
I just went from the factory flat top in my ls2 to a dish top forged weisco pistons. My buddy had an lq4 with a set of ported 243s and a tr-trak shelf cam and I know what his car would do. If mine will be close to his I’ll be happy.
No stock LS block should be stroked except the ls7. GM extended the cylinder walls to eliminate piston wobble. other than that you have to build an aftermarket block that incorporates that feature.
Any recomendations? I have an 03 sierra 2500, its knocking pretty bad im thinking of buying a crate lq4. Its 4,300$ from GM, am i better off buying from someone else for that price range?
That's pretty good for a complete crate engine, would be the best way to ensure a good reliable engine. Sure you could save a few bucks off the top, but then you'd have to replace or refresh certain parts.
Stock ls3 in stock Vette. 30 Mpg highway, 20in the suburbs. I do it all the time with my air on. This is with headers. 420 RWHP. No joke. 13.8 @ 121mph 1/4 mile.
On the high end 2 grand man. That's the beauty of these 6.0s. Basic rebuild..if you want to..just a cam and a junkyard motor..and you got 400hp. One for sale near me for 600 right now..then a 400 cam.
Because despite popular belief the bearings usually dont just fall out of them unless they got 400,000 miles and a .650 lift spring and a lifter that doesnt like to pump oil as much as it should.
400 can't be right. All that money and time to get only 5 hp. Yes 5 -20 hp?? Doesn't make sense. 6.0 comes stock at 365-395. Tune kit on the stock vortec max put at 402hp
I didn't see a build, I saw an assembly. Not one measurement taken during the entire process. No valve spring install height or retainer to guide clearance, no crankshaft end play, no camshaft end play, no ring gaps, no bearing clearance even with plastic/guage... No pushrod length checked...I didn't even see a spark plug get gapped. Happy healthy engine... Yeah maybe, you can thank the guys at GM for doing a great job because you guys didn't bother to make sure that they didn't screw up anywhere for sure. Engine build my big ole butt!!
I'd have absolutely no problem doing that but I don't have an engine I'm building currently, it can't be done in 10 minutes and I don't do many videos. People are easily enough mislead and it's in my opinion wrong to just slap an engine together and call it a build. Some other poor person might think he/she is fortunate enough to get by with the same thing and chances are they'll end up with an expensive paperweight.

Did you use 823 heads and what cam duration do you have im starting a build and aiming for 500hp
Did you use 823 heads and what cam duration do you have im starting a build and aiming for 500hp
What cc were the heads?
How much was the build?
This engines been running strong in the Trans Am for about 3 years, figured it deserved a full recap/time-lapse video!
I thought these clips looked familar......what cam did u use, only 400hp.....
Yea some clips were ones we never used, others were recycled. TSP 228R Cam. Just a mild cam for a fun street car, nothing crazy.
TurboShotIncredible what car dose that 6.0 come out of? Thanks
What heads?
Don't know much about motor or parts but or those what they call the pop up pistons
My LS2 has been flawless. Im pushing 40K it runs mint. Plenty fast in my Z51 corvette. It's been a real joy to drive, and reliable!!
dude, you look so happy with those heads. like the proud father of twins!
My guy knows what he’s doing good build bro

If not then there's something wrong. My LS1 with ported 243's and Howard's Hot cam makes 400hp/365tq.

This was a very zen video, I dig it.
Do you have a parts list anywhere
Great build guys! 👍🏽
Do u have a build list
Do you all build motors for your subscribers if they can get the motor to you plus of course cost
Nice job guys! This is really cool, you guys are awesome.
Is the same engine in my 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 HD? It's a 6.0L... is it basicly a Corvette engine modded and detuned for towing?
Pretty much, though in 2016 it'll be the lt1 in the C7 vette (6.2l). The C6 is the one you're thinking of.
@@TurboShotIncredible wow I did not know that. Great video! Love the power you made out of it!
Nice job. What was the peak up? Just curious...
Do you guys happen to have the video in real time explaining what you are doing? Great job by the way!
how long was this process?😱
Are those what they call pop up pistons
Runs good
How about with the L92 heads and L76 intake? That'll be dope. And a stroker kit.

@@QQ-hm4nu send it mijo
Noltec you’ll send it straight to heaven after a few thousand miles mijo lmao
@@QQ-hm4nu that's why theres millions more out there lol
Noltec running strong 15-30k miles later? I haven’t seen any and I live in Texas 🤣
Nice build!
🤙🏻🍕 new sub! You guys rock! 🤙🏻🍕
Awesome video!!!
Thanks a lot!

Really depends what you plan on doing with the truck / engine
@@TurboShotIncredible it will be a tow rig/daily driver pull maybe 10k at most once a month nothing too crazy

Will the TSP 228r cam work in an LQ4? And if so what lifters should I use?
Yes, Ls7 lifters. Just go bigger cam.
Thanks bro
Do a Lq4.engine..more available..I want one in my 13 camaro.r
Thanks guys
You should of waited until the ring lands on the piston to open up
Im planning on a Ls build. What is the typical mpg for these engines
That depends on a lot of factors. Tune being the biggest. This one in particular sees about 16-22mpg
My ls2 gets about 11 mpg city 20 highway on a safe tune
Stock ls3 in stock Vette. 30 Mpg highway, 20in the suburbs. I do it all the time with my air on. This is with headers. 420 RWHP. No joke. 13.8 @ 121mph 1/4 mile.

What kind of cam was in the engine im looking to do the same build with a lq4
TSP 228R CAM
400hp you can get that easy with a 5.3 cam swapp and headers
Yea I was like 6.0 and 400hp ummm ok
Id like to go to the happy ass dynos y'all see.
Not 400 rear wheel horsepower....... like the title says....
ok my engine is 6.0L. There are 5364 heads, which vehicle does it come from, I guess it's not standard ls2
Most likely, L92 heads.
Inspiring
Nice build 👌
Love the vid great work
Thank you!
No problem ✌🏾
Some 06-07s still had 24x reluctor wheels also
Is there any way to identify which 6.0s did?
I think all 06 gto
See if you have a grey cam sensor or black. I believe the black is the 24x the grey is the 58x
How much was the total build
Hard to say for this exact build, but we have a similar 5.3 build with a full price break down here ► ruclips.net/video/CdOSfUml514/видео.html

Just asking, why would you spend $1000 on new heads an put stock rockers in them???
Because despite popular belief the bearings usually dont just fall out of them unless they got 400,000 miles and a .650 lift spring and a lifter that doesnt like to pump oil as much as it should.
ls3 heads and intake(good used $700), Ls3 cam(good used $50), 10.8 compression, headers. Your finished. Over 400RWHP.
Just a cam
Hey do y'all remember what y'all ran for bearing clearance on mains and rods
All Stock/OEM parts
Of course not, they didn't take one single measurement.

You’re talking about hp to the crank , they talking about hp to the wheels .. totally different
@@corridos_818l8 not really .its ony a at maximum 20 percent difference. Most likely 9 percent
Mud Dirt usually around 60-70 hp difference
👍✌️
