- It's been 8 years since the Aggies of A&M and the Longhorns of Texas have met on the football field. The once storied rivalry ended with lots of finger pointing and hurt feelings. But good news! The two teams come to the table to talk about the possibility of renewing the game. It does not go well.

I'm dying too....of laughing how the best Big 12 has to offer is a team that is NOW 0-4 in the CFP and that got CURB STOMPED, by LSU. But, yet Texas is 3-0 in the post season. Not-to-mention....the ONLY Big 12 team to win in 2019.
Also Texas lost to LSU.....but, by 7. We ACTUALLY made it a game. We didn't get RKO'D like OU did.

For a history lesson, A&M was founded as a military college and stayed all military until the 50’s. In WWII over 20,000 Aggies served which was the entire school plus alumni. This was more than West Point and Annapolis Combined!
Texas U however did not have those numbers or anywhere close to those numbers as most students just opted out as college students so they could finish their education. Hence we still call them Tea Sips because they just stayed home sipping Tea during WWII while Aggies were out fighting

The word tea sipper was used before World War 2 so I don't think that was the origin.

TAMU just moved from being Texas and OU's little brother to being Bama, Georgia, and LSU's little brother. Nothing has changed. Texas has sucked for several years but despite that, Herman comes in and within 2 years Texas already had a more successful season than TAMU has had since the 90's ....and Aggies still dont realize thst nobody outside College Station gives a shit about them.

The irony is that Texas offered to put A&M on their non conference schedule as soon as the move to the SEC went through, but A&M scoffed at the fact that Texas had already signed up teams for the next 10 years and didn't feel like they should have to wait. Now, here we are, and if they had just gone through with scheduling the game at least it would be coming up soon.

I would say that we have kept that streak going despite moving from one of the weakest to one of the strongest conferences in football is an accomplishment that no other Texas school can claim. Or Missouri, who was put in the easier division. You just don't want to recognize that A&M is a better team now than when it was in the crapshoot of a conference (Big 12 with 10 teams).
