Actually I saw a another RUclipsr said that by using the app you can change the speed to 19 miles an hour
You have to buy a little $20 arduino chip and remove the limiter in the program
It's kool with me.i just dont like how the battery last only for 4 to five hours the charge it up for 4 hours.
I’m super choked that Jetson has limited the speed of our bikes. I bought it after doing tons of research and it being able to do the speed that they said it would do. Then to downgrade the speed later through the app and play dumb about it isn’t right! The only response I got from the company was try deleting and reinstalling the app. Like they didn’t know they screwed with it. I have seen lots of other people complaining about the same thing so it isn’t just my bike.

@@oliverhoffman4574 I’m in Canada so we go by km/h. My Bolt went from going 30km/h to 25km/h big difference on a little bike like the bolt. I also lost my cruise control at the same time. All my cruise button dose now is turn my light on for some reason lol
@@oliverhoffman4574 I did soooo much research before I bought and the reason I chose the Bolt was the speed, cruise control and the fact it folded down. All I’m left with out of those is the fact that it still folds lol
Not So Happy Camper ok I’ve tried looking up on RUclips “how to make a jetson bolt go faster” and there’s some good videos about it.
You can get it back to the 18 mph setting. On Google type in 'older Jetson Bolt app versions APK'. You will need to uninstall version 6.3.6 or 6.3.7 (whatever version you have now).
Once you have typed that into Google and have the Jetson app uninstalled, click one of the first two links and look for Jetson App 6.2.4 from around June 2020.
There is version 6.2.4.
Download that app, do not update it anymore.
Hook up with the bluetooth to your Jetson bike, go into speed settings and voila!
It allows you to go to 18mph again!
It took a couple times trying to hook up because all of the Jetson apps stink but once in, you're good. Peace.
I was doing a bit of research on this little thing and came across your video. After watching, I decided that this was a decent alternative for me to get to and from work, which is a 10 - 15 minute drive from my home. The only question that remains for me is how it will handle in wetter weather, as I live in Washington state. I may have to wrap the battery area in some type of waterproofing. Regardless... I bought one from Amazon and will see for myself.
How’s it done in the rain? I live in Seattle and was wondering the same thing.

@@nkazz35 It did surprisingly well. I replaced the seat (which was a bit narrow for me), and put tougher tubes and tires on it (the tubes and tires that come with it are a bit cheap). Unfortunately, it was stolen after I had it only for a month. In the time that I had it, however, I rode it to and from work every day with no issues other than it not having enough horsepower to take a fairly steep hill. I did ride it in the rain a few times, but wrapped the battery area in a clear plastic when I did, just as a precaution. It was easy to operate, light to carry, and handled well. But take it a bit slow when turning and braking on wet roads or you'll slide out and take a tumble.
I wash my Jetson with water all the time and nothing broke and it’s still the exact same before and after I wash it
I literally rode this thing in a thunderstorm with crazy rain to test the water proofness.. worked fine
Dude, Cool Bolt but you should try Bolt Pro! I just posted video about side by side. It much better! Stability is much better and ride.

Hey! I’m in Canada and bought my jetson about a month ago. So far so good! It’s such an amazing electric bike for that price. I really recommend buying one if you can.
had mine for 2 years still runs great the app kind of sucks tho it works when it wants 2... I run mine without it

This is no way as good as my Lectric XP, but I do like how much smaller it is. I bet it is easier to put in your car than mine. Lectric XP folds, but it is very cumbersome. I saw this at Costco and was interested in getting it. How are you liking it so far?
$250 to $400 versus $900+. They are different animals, price-wise. Lectric Xp is like 55 to 65 pounds if I recall correctly, this is like 35lb. My back hurts just thinking of loading a 65 lb bike into my trunk, oy!
I will personally be buying a Lectric XP this black friday if they have a compelling sale. I have still enjoyed my Jetson bolt refurb very much so far. The so-called 19mph is more like 16.5, but it is a decent bike, and honestly more fun than my xiaomi m365. It has put alot of huge smiles on my face, although their support leaves alot to be desired. They are basically rebranding and failing to adequately support a Taiwanese Ebike. The claimed 18 mile range is more like 10 if you weigh more than 140lb. It is still a very fun runabout if the range suits your purposes. The speed feels 100% adequate until you hit the big, flat, perfectly-paved roads that will leave you wanting more, which simply do not exist within Californian cities.
@@braveladder1682 I have an lectric XP with two batteries. I can go 50 miles Full throttle 20mph. on these batteries. Love my XP would not trade it for anything.

I actually have one and it’s really fast. Many people are looking to get one in my neighborhood now because it fast and they really enjoy the slim look of it. This is a great purchase in my opinion. Also this is very durable as well.

I have the jetson electric bike pro B great assist for pedal but no Bluetooth u would have to buy extra stuff to get it to Bluetooth so I’m going buy the red pro bcuz it’s Bluetooth and u can up the speed with the app instead of doing all this extra electric stuff if u know what’s u doing go for it

Why dot you get a voltage inverter for your car so you can charge on the go?
I'm 5-6" and have the seat as low as possible. I'm not going to pedal anything, and I like both feet flat on the ground when I'm stopped.

Go to the Jetson App and download it. It doesn't work as it crashes a lot but I was able to get the mph bar up to it's max (16mph). I called and Jetson said a new app is in the works but until then we don't have all the capabilities that this bike can do.
@@daveedbrown8296 That i was able to do, i was up to 17 -18 on them, however it really drains the battery fast at those speeds. I would be happy with just a longer battery life.
@@Dozereyes go to ebay and type- 36v ebike battery. Usually a blue or black rectangular block of Lithium batteries.
We have a 5.2 Ah (amp hour) battery. I knew it would never get 15 miles on one charge but 10-12 miles, yes.
So- Anything 36v and say....10 Ah battery is going to double your range. More Ah battery=more distance but not speed. DO NOT OVERVOLT THIS BIKE.
Meaning not putting a 48v battery in it. The controller box is only made for 36v.I researched that too.
If you remove the little rubber stoppers on the left side, there are 7 screws under them.
Unscrew them lying the bike on it's right side.
the maximum battery physical size is 210mm x 85mm x 75mm for the compartment with a mm or two to spare.
This battery here is a 14Ah. This would work perfect.

It even has the same yellow connector (many do not) for controller connection. The only thing you'll have to do perhaps is splice the power wire so to make it longer to get back to the charging port on the bike.
Other than that, I've done my homework and glad to be of help.

@@popholmes5825 - Yes I did. I'm over 800 miles on it now since I bought it, changed out the tires to some thicker ones I found online. I quite a while ago upgraded it to a 14000ah battery so I get about 30 miles on a charge. Then the Bolt app has one version where the bike can go 18.5 mph. I'm not hitting that because I weight 200lbs but I have clocked myself through my phone at 15mph constant. So yup...Altogether under $500, I have beat the heck out of it and she still rolls sweet. You enjoy paying thousands for an ebike. I'll take my Jetson that countless people have said how it goes! Peace.
And the flame war over Bolt and Pro rages. I am so tired of pedaling. For that I got my mid motor. For going over to NoFrills, I got my Bolt, Elroy.

Just ordered one of these. I have to bike total 15 miles a day to get to work and back on mostly level ground. Anybody know if this will get me there and back and how long it would take to ride 7.5 miles.
Honestly, it will depend on your weight, terrain, and style of riding. On pure throttle on level ground you can get between 10-15mi. I do a 3mi loop with rolling hills (with pedaling) but I can get about 14.5mph average. The lower your battery gets you’ll loose top end speed. Consider charging it at your work location the first time. The regular pedaling would suck without the motor.
If you can get avg 15mph, it will take you around 30min. Plan for 45-60min because of lower averages or lights.
This bike is not for you. You are to big. You need something with 1000watt motor or more. Also check the weight limit in the specs for the bike.

Good video, I looking in to buying a couple of them bikes, used ones, to make a mountain ebikes for my kids, do you know how low can I set the speed on the app? And are the batteries removeble ? I'm planning on transfer the back wheel/hub and

No idea, but for a 8-10 year old they will be able to control it fine since one of our nephews likes riding it. In terms of surgical operation, you're on your own there :) thx for watching

I've been looking into this for a couple of weeks now and apparently the app will allow you to unlock up to 18 or 19 mph.

I unlocked mine. Made no difference. Tops out at 8 mph. I’m 178 lbs. support told me to turn off ‘walk’ function in app, but that didn’t make any difference either. I like the bike, just wish it had more speed. No one will get 15 mph unless you weigh 80 lbs.
@@shatnershairpiece What's your tire pressure set at? Because that could also be a factor. I've seen people much heavier than 80 getting up to at least 16.

My version has pneumatic tires. I run them at 40psi

I bought one and quickly returned it. The handling is dangerous, brakes are a joke, and they don't have any power. I wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy! I guess you can't expect much for $300.
