Average student that makes it through BUD/s, prior to getting onto a team, shoots on average 2 million rounds. Once they get onto a team, between workup and combat, easily shoots 250k rounds a year, if not more. He probably has close to 6 or 7 million rounds all together for his military time alone

He seems like a cool dude but far from a pro. Mediocre considering the amount of training and rounds. Most competition shooters who have shot a quarter of what he has are leaps and bounds better. I would say 50% of are local competition scene are better shooters an thats made up of guys who may have only been shooting a year to guys that are in their 60s.

My favorite carry gun for years now. Started life as a Sig P320 X Compact. Sent it to Robert Burke aka The Sig Armorer for his Duty Trigger Job. Added a DPM Recoil Reduction System guide rod and spring system. Changed out the original grip module for a Wilson Combat grip. Love this gun. Great trigger. Soft shooting. It’s been super reliable. The 320's biggest selling point is being widely modular. Sig shouldn't be upset at someone for being creative, they should take notes.
When I had an idea for a carry size TXG grip, I took out my saw, sandpaper, and made my own. Sig shouldn't be mad, just pay attention to what the people want.

One of my first handguns back in the day was a Gen 1 S&W M&P40 and fell in love with it, that was my everything gun and trained a lot with it. Loved it so much I got a Performance center Shield9 and a M&P9 2.0 (love both) And I’m happy to see they haven’t disappointed with their generation 2.0 handguns and even the new M2.0. Watching people test M&P’s on here is satisfying because they’re always pleasantly surprised and now they have a full metal M&P model which honestly looks really sick 🤙🏻
I enjoy shooting them more than my Glock 17 (duty gun) and my 43x (primary CC)

he was talking about dan horner and max michel, who are professional shooters for sig. tactical and competition shooting are very different. most guys who think they are good shooters cant take the ego hit of scoring poorly on a USPSA match and working through it (eg even tier 1 guys will run these stages much slower than a M/GM class shooter). its just a different skillset. i think i saw dj post something on instagram not long ago of him running a competition stage really fast which was awesome to see. you can google practiscore and look for matches in your area. anyone can get good at it with practice.

I had bought a SIG 320 compact not knowing how modular they are…
I was doing a CD match last year and one of the assault stages we were shooting 80 yards… I made it through the stage but that setup wasn’t going to cut it…
I ordered an X5 legion kit and also a Brouwer M1811 grip module…
That grip for me is the same fit as you describe… Matched with the 5” lightened slide it’s very smooth shooting! If I need to carry concealed pop things apart and I have the compact back in 2 minutes…

I haven't ran Max's slide, but I am running the Grayguns Isaac Lockwood custom slide that has the fitted Faxon bull barrel. I use the TXG grip module and did a silicon carbide treatment to the grip all the way around, which is somewhat similar to the DH grip you have but more than just the silicone carbide panels. I'm also running the Romeo3Max optic with a 3MOA dot and like the window size and offset as well. I sent the trigger off to the Sig Armorer for a Competition trigger job and it's an amazing trigger for a striker fire pistol. I shoot this in USPSA under Carry Optics division and have a back-up gun that is similar but has a Grayguns trigger kit and uses the factory Legion slide and barrel with a Leupold Delta Point Pro optic. I plan to purchase the Mason Lane slide from Grayguns over the winter, which is a similar set-up to the Lockwood slide, but has Mason's slide serration design, which I like better functionally. For all the crap Sig gets about the 320s, I have shot over 15K rounds through it in the last 2 years and it runs flawlessly and is very accurate.

Umm - having shot the Max in competition for a number of years with the M grip and Talon tape , I can see a case for the S grip despite having large hands. I might try one out ! Agree on the R3Max glass and dot clarity. Once they switched out the bubble controls for the flat faced buttons , the reliability is rock solid too. I run the Armory Craft extended takedown for IDPA but for IPSC , I have to use the OEM. I recommend a SP paddle mag release - I think the new SF Max that MM teased in the new R3Max video will have an extended paddle . OEM Custom Works trigger group is just fine IMO - after a few thousand rounds , the striker assembly interface gets very crisp and that spongy wall disappears. Running this gun with the orange 12lb recoil spring and low power 147 JHP’s reloads is a sweet ride !

No fancy sights just trijicom front and rear. I know you did a vid on shooting with just standard sights and I couldn’t agree more with this. I think the trend now is an over reliance on red dot type sights, such that if you took the vast majority of users away from this and had them shoot with just their iron sights, their marksmanship would be compromised. Shot Hydroshok 124gr +P+ through the HP (op load carry). For context, I’m going back to 1989!

As a broke college student, all I have is my bone stock Gen 5 G19. But I’d love a full size gun with a large window optic like a Leupold DPP or Trijicon SRO.
I have very limited experience with other guns but I’d love to feel a grip angle that’s not as angled as the Glock. S&W looks promising but Walther also has appeal to me. My G19 is obv a compact so it’s only really useful for appendix carry and fanny pack/man purse carry. The Roland Special looks cool and is probably accurate af but feeding it extremely specific ammo is not ideal.

The small X-Series grip is fire. I go between that and the Wilson grip. However the Wilson XCarry grip with an A model x300 is not great as it’s tapered around the pica tinny so it’s loose. I’d imagine the B model may fair better and definitely the XFull version of the Wilson.

DJ have you shot the CZ Shadow 2 Compact, especially with a CGW trigger! Add an RMR and have a face-off! I would love to see your thoughts vs the P320 and I believe you may find a new love! One huge advantage you have with the Sig is the insane amount of rounds that I'm sure you have put through it, so you may always favor your Sig because of that., but put some trigger time on the Shadow 2 and the Shadow 2 Compact and add the Cajun Gun Work pro trigger job! I have a P220 Elite, it's a great gun I know you're running the P320 and it's different. Hands down my P220 Elite can't touch my S2C or my factory full-size Shadow 2.
