WOW!!! Purchase, rebuild, and flip in a single 25 minute video. Loved it! I've been looking at old 4runners to build an Overlander out of but they are overpriced, a bit small, and I hate the flip up rear hatch. I'm starting to give the Montero a hard look. Montana Montero...Let's Goooooooo!

Man ...thanks for saving a Montero. That's pretty rad it's going to have a great second life.
I may going the same route and rebuild the motor in the one I saved with a blown head gasket. I just hope it's not too bad inside the motor after sitting for 10 years

I got it. I have a ‘90 Trooper. These old steel boxes are better than people think.

I have a 2006 one. But My early childhood memory was riding the Gen1 when I was a kid. The classic solid look is awesome. I am glad that you were able to restore this gem.

Impressive, well done dude! Makes me want to get around to working on my Gen1.
Ps - not sure how big of a deal it is but the “to carb” nipple on the charcoal canister should have a vacuum cap on it.

Brilliant. I just overhauled the top end of the engine in my '91, Took .015 off the heads, no problems at all. Great video. Thanks a mil. I need a drivers front fender for a '91 if you know where i can get one.

I am working on a 1990 Montero. First time to do anything like this. So far I have found most of what I needed on Rock Auto. Ive looked around locally at junkyards and Facebook Marketplace. Any other places I should know about to find some of these parts? Previous owner, 90 year old guy, thinks it needs a new ECM and Ive had zero luck finding that yet. I found some stuff on ebay where you send them the ECM and they supposedly fix it and return it for $140. Is that legit? I am not in a rush for the ECM yet anyway since I am trying to eliminate other stuff first.

Have you considered making your format more documentary and less hectic POV? The constant camera motion/whipping and the bouncing/pointing hand are distracting to your really good content. Just a thought. Thanks for sharing either way

i'm just a dude, holding my phone camera and working on my cars haha. personally i think it's more dynamic to "bring you along with me" rather than sit and talk to a camera on a stick. i've shot a few videos on a tripod and they come out super boring
