And there haven't been any updates to the rustler either since it has been released which is another thing I think that tracks is should be looking at and doing but I don't think they will. But the funny thing is is people are acting like the world is going to end because I said a couple of things in here but it's not like I said the Traxxas was better than the arrma LOL. I got the rustler 4x4 vxl last week. Everytime I have driven it I have broke one of the plastic driveshafts. It's always the little metal ball with pins sticking out breaking out of the plastic mount. Too expensive to replace everytime I drove. Have ordered some steel driveshafts to replace em. Besides that, I love it. It does suck that Traxxas knows about the weak spot on the rustler's drive shaft and doesn't seem to care....

    had to put some blue loctite on the right rear wheel already. my granite didnt have that issue yet though but if and when it does i know its an easy job and the loctite will prevent that 2mm screw from vibrating loose again. I saw it happened to you as well on the vorteks when you did the first review i believe. You were very unconcerned when it happened to you in the video so i stayed calm and walked over and it was the same issue. saw a few videos online about this issue on the other Aarma 3s trucks...granite, bigrock ect...I didnt have loctite the other night when it first happened but i took it apart and tightened it up anyway. Ran 1 pack the next day and it fell off again when doing some light drifting on asphalt...I bought generic blue thread lock medium strength from walmart. i put a good it of it down into the threads and put it all back together. im gonna wait 24 hrs just to be sure its fully dried and set and then go rip it. i hope it holds. One thing i noticed was that no matter which truck you have it is always the right rear wheel that this happens to. So my best advice anyone else reading this, pick up some loctite if you dont already have some when you pick up a new Vorteks or any of the Aarma 3S vehicles. other than that these trucks are an absolute enjoyment for my 6 year old son and I. God Bless, have fun always. Be safe

    I've owned a rustler 4x4 and it was a fun truck but I remember it being slow compared to my big rock. The big rock seemed almost as fast on 2s to 3s for the rustler. The rustler is a better platform for building something insane like a 4 or 6s build.

    • @JayTeeRC
      @JayTeeRC  3 года назад +3

      Yep and that's one of the key points the armored cars are faster. When I first ran my rustler on 3s my friend thought I had it in training mode LOL! • @geodude3966
      @geodude3966 3 года назад

      @@philthyco1 If there's no need to upgrade the ring gear then why are there upgrades for it? There's RPM upgrades for the Arrma 3S 4x4 line as well, care to explain why aftermarket companies are making upgrades for Arrma parts if they don't need upgrades?
      12mm hexes provide more options than 14mm hexes, that's a fact. You're limited in options with 14mm hexes. If you want to run the best and most popular wheels out there with the Vorteks, you need to buy additional hexes.
      And saying Arrma needs zero upgrades out of the box while Traxxas needs multiple upgrades just shows how much of a fanboy you are. I have both Arrma and Traxxas, they break the same. Neither is more durable than the other and that's a fact.

  • @ubreakitirepairit3569
    @ubreakitirepairit3569 2 года назад

    I’ve always had an interest in the VXL but recently picked up the Vorteks. One thing worth mentioning, is that the tires on the Vorteks are vented on the outside to expel water.
    After what you mentioned about the Traxxas controller, I’m glad I picked up the Vorteks.
    My girlfriend was driving my Redcat 6S (has no throttle limiter) while, I was driving my Outcast 6S. I was hesitant about letting her drive the Outcast, but then I remembered you can limit the throttle on the controller. She quickly fell in love with driving the Outcast; and I’m pretty sure that’s due to the throttle limiter, which means newbies don’t have to spend so much time trying to feather the throttle. And yes I know you can do it with Traxxas, but Arrma makes it so much easier to do.
    Anyhow, I feel that having quick access to throttle control on the transmitter, makes for a more enjoyable experience for first timers, as well as experienced drivers when you don’t have to keep taking off the body (coughs: Traxxas) to change settings.

    Traxxas Rustler 4x4 vxl is much more better than Arrma Vorteks 3s... I mean upgrades Traxxas have much more aftermarket parts then Than Arrma ... You cannot put Sway bar kit on The Arrmar Vorteks 3s... That's really bad... Why I am telling you this because I have one so now I am thinking to go and buy a Traxxas products how much more better

      Well it isn’t the arrma wasn’t out 1.5 years ago and I’ve enjoyed the traxxas so far and it’s very easy to control and fairly durable.
