"If you go down in the woods today, you're sure of a big surprise. If you go down in the woods today, you'd better go in disguise. For 3 of the pigs that ever there was will gather there for certain because today's the day the piggies have their picnic." - with apologies to Jimmy Kennedy. Loved seeing them enjoying the yummy poison ivy.
Pigs in the woods! Yay, you did it! 😀🤩🥰👏👏👏👍👍👍 Yeah, I don't know why people expect pigs or any animals to walk under or over an electric fence wire after you have trained them to fear and respect it. Not gonna happen. But you figured it out and got them moved. Yay!
I absolutely love how kind you are to your animals. The one reason for a shelter is in case of a hail storm or even heavy rain. Keep the video's coming.
Jason, you crack me up with your "PIGS in the forest"..."I need that on a t-shirt. Check that off the list. I'm done. Let's go home." All very true and such a satisfying accomplishment. Way to go, guys!!
I’m old, so my pig stories go back to the late 50’s and 60’s. My uncle had pigs, and I remember as a young boy helping with all the pig related chores. My uncle would put “ hog rings” in their noses, to discourage rooting, and escaping. Using electric fences for pigs either wasn’t a thing back then, or my uncle didn’t use it.
It will be very interesting to see just what impact they have on the forest in the weeks they are there. Also how much weigh they put on with their free for all diet. You have come such a long way from the frankly terrified newbies with your first pigs. (Will never forget run away day! I played that clip so many times.) The training effect of the electric fence is simply amazing, And the chicken tractor is priceless. Now to tackle that super hard ground that even the pigs couldn’t break open. BTW I have read many references about the forestry mulched on your property on a wide range of channels. It certainly got plenty of attention.
Can't wait to see how much the Eat in the woods in the next 2 weeks. I remember how nervous you guys were moving your pigs in the past. You guys are pros now😊
You can use the Suscovich tractor for everything. I also use my as a hunting blind after I finish the meat birds in the fall. It's a great tool for the homestead.
There is no need to compare. My goodness. Everyone has different challenges. Bri has 7 kids and a struggling husband. Lorraine had Jason’s illness and her parents to help. I am proud of all of them!
We started running a single strand wire for our pigs in the forest and haven’t had any break outs yet 🤞 we have Idaho Pasture Pigs so they don’t usually test the fence like other pig breeds
Awe! Too bad they can’t stay longer and live in your forest! They’re so cute! I bet they could clear a ton of your land for you. Maybe you’ll get more and keep them?
Excellent idea Jason and Lorraine putting your pigs in the forest. I think you guys are now ready for some sheep. Nothing tastes better to me than lamb, plus sheep's milk is very sweet. You would like it. And pecorino cheese goes great with prosciutto. 😉🍗 "Pecora" means sheep in Italian. God bless you all.
Whoo Hoo! Pig field trip to the woods...after much critical thinking and lots of hard working! Well done! Maybe they'll help uncover some more of those undesirable objects in that part of the wooded area. Well done Sow the Land Team
I believe I saw on a channel somewhere they said beefy boys can go in the woods too especially in the hot weather when the shade gives them cooler temperatures. That was very fun to watch, thank you.
lol I have to look and say this is what I done back 50 years ago back home and we never had electric fencing just barb wire and never ever had a pig get out. What the pigs couldn't reach the goats did. Back at that time no body we knew even had deep freezes so animals were always a family and neighbor affair. Good job Cheers
Yup yup that's the way my uncle Reynolds always did it kept them in the woods they stayed cooler and it kept the weeds down especially poison ivy they love that stuff. Y'all have a good day🙂💐
Pigs in the forest…. 😂 love it. It’s been weeks I tell my friend to put her pigs in her forest to help them clear it a bit ,but she’s not having it. I will show her this. 😂
Two weeks is better than no weeks! Well done! Definitely hope to see a follow-up of what they were able to accomplish in the 2 weeks they are out there.
OMG That music is absolutely perfect. What a great video. You could just butcher one or two. but then you have to do the other one later. Jason your neighbor has a wood chipper and you have forest . Ask Ben . He is an expert at chipping.
Great job! You should line up more piglets to keep in there once you process these. A few batches of pigs will have your whole property cleared before you know it, making more room for beef.
Have you thought about buying Bri's dexter cross heifer? And maybe another small cow with calf at foot? And a bucket milking machine? The pigs in space would love you the more.
You should get some ibc totes and put water in those and haul that around so you have a water source farther away from your barn. We do that for our livestock! Love the videos! thanks for the great content!
What a great timing, so lucky I found you! We started our new chapter on our 1.5 acres 3 months ago and can't wait to see what the future brings. Thank you for teaching us new things 💛 Love from beautiful Hurunui, New Zealand 🥰
I would raise one of those wires up a bit higher. Pigs can jump and with the top wire that low to the ground, they might be tempted to jump. It's unlikely, but still possible. If the top wire were higher, I think it would be less likely, but that's just my 2 cents;) But, man, that's a lot of work! I know how nervous it can feel to move pigs over a long distance. Good work!

😂🤣😂 So funny! I laughed out loud when you played that piece of music after getting them in the woods. Congratulations 🎊
Those pigs look so happy in the woods. Great job moving them. 🌳🐖🌳🐖🌳🐖🌳
Jason, you have a gift. Loved the way this was filmed and the music choices!! And I wouldn't TRUST NO PIG either! Congrats on gettin it done!!
Your biggest blessing…LORRAINE!
You have come such a long way! I remember when you weren’t sure and were scared about having pigs. Now look at you guys❤
I love it when you can check something off you've wanted to do for a long time. Pigs in the woods is awesome 👍👍

Lorraine is the best homesteading mama on RUclips. Bri could pay attention.
There is no need to compare. My goodness. Everyone has different challenges. Bri has 7 kids and a struggling husband. Lorraine had Jason’s illness and her parents to help. I am proud of all of them!

Awesome!!! We just moved onto our new homestead back in October and my favorite chore is moving our goats and sheep onto new pasture.
That's how I raise my pigs is in the forest. They've leveled out the ground and the forest is flourishing now. Every other year I do mine.
Great to see you put the pigs to work in the forest. It’s best thing to do.
Yup yup that's the way my uncle Reynolds always did it kept them in the woods they stayed cooler and it kept the weeds down especially poison ivy they love that stuff. Y'all have a good day🙂💐
Happy pigs, hard but no doubt satisfying work.

So happy for you. Your dream come true!!
Great job love pigs, they are going to enjoy there new pen so much
I would just sit and watch the pigs all day.
I never heard of a "pignut" so I had to look it up. Seems like it's a type of hickory nut. I love those. Your pigs have good taste it seems.
What a great timing, so lucky I found you! We started our new chapter on our 1.5 acres 3 months ago and can't wait to see what the future brings. Thank you for teaching us new things 💛 Love from beautiful Hurunui, New Zealand 🥰
That's some happy pigs. I'd leave them until they clear the area.
Really happy for you guys! Awesome accomplishment.

Turning poison ivy into bacon...amazing!
Those are some happy pigs
Nice way to live out their last chapter😊
Loved the victory video
Pigs in the Woods!!
You should look into Chip Drop and see if it exists in your area. Easy way to get all the wood chips you could want if it’s in your area.
I love watching the pigs! City girl goals. LOL
