This review format is exactly what's needed. No music. No fluff. No long intro.

Hope to see a review of the Ecovacs Deebot N10 Max +. Thanks for all your detailed reviews, @consumer analysis team.

I have watched your channel for about a year now. You were extremely helpful for me picking out an air purifier.
I test and review robot vacuums on my RUclips channel and you do really good work.

Thank you for the positive feedback. I appreciate it! I think I watched one of your videos about the S7 doing additional research for my own review, and found it very insightful, highlighting details many other reviewers missed. So have to give you kudos for your reviews as well. Cheers!

A consumer pro tip: Make your reviews based on (1st) Cleaning performance "crucial" (2nd) On obstacle avoidance "not important".. No one is so stupid to lay shoes and cables down then wish the robot to be more smart than the owner himself to do the job correctly (we don't lay things down even when on manual hand cleaning).
Poop avoidance and efficiency are waste of time, I can walk my dog out which is a "daily must do" then start the robot, for efficiency I don't mind two additional circles for more and better "deep cleaning" as long as this particular model recharges and continues the job in case of low battery.
According to your own test numbers this came first when it come to "cleaning", yet "not recommended" or "alternative choice" ?
Why we even need to watch reviews anymore as all are promoted anyway.

I have the regular n8 and it's been brilliant. In comparison to the eufy lr35 it's night and day better. Better than the eufy x8 on carpet too. I get the same mix bag results with the yeedi vac 2 with the same sensors the n8 pro uses. It refuses to go up and do the rug as the sensors don't like it, but put upstairs on carpet only floor it's fine! so that's where it lives doing a fantastic job.

    Great review as always.
Since you're one of the best reviewers (imo) about vacuums&stuff, especially robot vacuums, I have a technical question in my mind.
Most of top notch robot vacuums brands, especially roborock, are claiming incredible high pascalwhen it comes to suction but in reality tests don't show that to be true and also they didn't got that much airflow in the end. It is also clearly visible during crevice pick up test (in this video and your older ones) that high airflow is the real winner, especially ecovacs robots.
So my question is, what the difference between suction and airflow and, what is the most important realistically?
    Thank you

I think manufacturers are measuring suction in a different way than I am - probably much closer to the motor - which gives them different (and better) results. There's also a chance certain robots simply don't ramp up to full power when attached to my specific airflow and suction test equipment.
I don't think using manufacturer power data or even my measured airflow and suction data - is a good way to gauge a vacuum's true pickup potential. A much better indicator is carpet deep cleaning performance. Newer Roborock robots I've tested - like the Q5 and S7 MaxV - all have less measured airflow and suction than their previous generation counterparts (e.g. the S4 Max and S6 MaxV) but performed better in carpet deep clean testing. I would, and do trust the carpet deep clean data over airflow and suction data.
Robots with more airflow and suction also don't always perform better in crevice testing. The S7 MaxV, for example, performed worse in crevice testing than the S7 despite having more measured airflow and suction. I think it's because its brush roll compartment doesn't drop as low to seal to hard floors as well as the S7 (I measured how far each robot's "floating" brush roll compartment drops down and the S7's compartment drops down lower). So there's a lot going into the actual performance of each robot in each test. Airflow and suction - i.e. raw performance - is only one variable.

@@consumer-analysis I thought the crevice test was the real deal but I was wrong. Thank you very much for the in depth answer.

The main issue is the self emptying bin. It pulls from both sides and can't pull up pet hair. You can tape up one hole, but it still has issues.

Interesting. I clearly didn't test its self-emptying feature sufficiently to notice this issue, so I appreciate your bringing it to my attention!

Hi, great review. Just wanted to ask if ECOVACS Deebot N8 Pro is good at 200$ over the Xiaomi S10 at 140 $. Thanks.

Seems like the videos I watch on this vacuum are mostly positive except this video.I wonder if a real world test would yield different results and not a 10 square foot test “room”

    • @consumer-analysis
      @consumer-analysis  Год назад

Look at it this way. I’ve set up a very basic test environment. Real world environments are much more complex. If the robot can’t handle my test environment, I’m confident it will only perform worse in most real world settings.

Why the manufacturer would force me to register an account to use its vacume cleaner?! This is outrageous! The manufacturer would get very sensitive private information about me, such as size and layout of the house, family routines and even whether anybody is at home! Those auto cleaners have Lidar or other sensors. I can accept that a mobile app is required to control the cleaner but it should work perfectly ok without any user identity information or sending any data to some unkown servers.

I really wished I would not have listen to your review on this product, it was a big waste of money.
After six months of use, I believe this is the worst product I have ever purchased. I believe that all of its functions are subpar. I wish I could afford to replace it and go back to using a Shark. But it appears like I will be stuck with the Deebot for the time being. • Mapping receives a F: For some reason, the vacuum layers maps on top of one other. I tried disabling multi-floor mapping, but it didn't work. The maps overlapping each other seemed to confuse the vacuum.
    • Cleaning/Pet hair gets a D: I have two dogs, and it doesn't come close to cleaning as well as my Shark RV1001AE, which the Deebot replaced.
Self-Emptying gets an F: When it does pick up the dog hair, 60% of the time it clogs up the onboard trash bin and is unable to get pulled into the self-emptying station.
