Language is such a beautiful thing. When he started speaking Maasai and everyone instantly just warms up to him and starts smiling you can just see how much they appreciate him speaking their language. It’s an incredible thing to take the time to learn about another culture and especially to learn their language before visiting. Everyone was very nice and understanding that he didn’t get everything perfect but they definitely appreciate the effort.

Of all of his videos, it took me until he spoke Norwegian, to understand how well pronounced he actually is in another language than his native tongue. I'm not Norwegian, but Danish, though the language is really similar so I can tell that, he has some real talent when it comes to learning and speaking different languages. All of his content is so wholesome, he really inspires people to learn different languages.

I'd like to see you learn Basque. It predates any language in the indo-European tree. I'd like to see how difficult it would be to grasp something unchanged and uninfluenced by its neighbours for thousands and thousand of years

The true Basque without any Indo European influence is the "proto Aquitanian ", which is a language reconstruction that shows that words in Basque were much longer and today's version is a shortening version.

me personally, when i hear someone speaking a different language, and then switch up to perfect English as if it were their native lingo, it impresses me.
I will never forget my first time trying to speak a foreign language. I was about to begin middle school and my buddy next to me was so concerned on how to make friends, so I said "It's super easy, just watch me!". Went up to this Korean kid and said "Konnichiwa!", trying to be super friendly. "Dude, I'm KOREAN." And from then on I never tried to speak a foreign language again.
Ain't no learning without stumbling blocks, my dude. And if anything, middle school is _the_ place to make mistakes and get the cringe outta the way. Although damn me if I'm gonna presume an East Asian's ethnicity... lol

It's interesting that the speakers of Yiddish and Pennsylvania Dutch not only speak a similar language, but are people who can be born and raised in the US and have a "foreign" accent.
Interestingly Pennsylvania Dutch isnt Dutch its actually german based, because it was german settelers who moved to pennsylvania in the 17th century. And so is Yiddish, its based on 9th century High German. I am german and i was supprised that i am able to understand like half the yiddish words they spoke!
