  • This is part 2 of my Jared Goff mini-doc. Jared Goff is an NFL quarterback for the Detroit Lions. He was born and raised in California, going to school there, and then played for the Los Angeles Rams. In a trade, he was sent to Detroit Michigan. A place he has no affiliation with, however due to his competitiveness, charity, and positive attitude, he has fully embraced the Motor City. This video picks up right as he was traded to the Detroit Lions and how his career has blossomed for a second time in his professional career. Enjoy the video! Cheers

    Their record is now 7-2. I originally recorded this prior to their win against the Chargers. Also, I want to mention that Jared Goff was nominated for the 2022 Walter Peyton Man of the Year Award.

A lot of people just fail to realize that he was the #1 overall pick in his draft class, and was part of a LA Rams rebuild and went to a Super Bowl…. How do you not give him credit for that???(rhetorical).

    I've been a die-hard Lions fan since the age of eight when my brother and I received football uniforms for Christmas. He got Bart Starr's #15, I got Bill Munson's #19. You've heard of Starr but probably not Munson... Still my fandom was irrevocably cemented in 1970 when, on a perfect ski day at Boyne Mt., I chose to go into the lodge and watch the Lions lose 5-0 against the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL's first wildcard game. Over the next 53 (!) years, the highlights have been few and far between but the 1991 destruction of the dreaded Cowboys in the only Lion's playoff win -- IN MY LIFETIME! -- sustained me. Jim Schwartz and Matt Stafford gave me hope after the Matt Miller debacle, only to see the terrible Lions' management try to solve their woes by hiring inept Patriot's players and personnel in the 2010s (pssst! It was always Brady). Ironically, while I grew up in, loved, and will always be a Michigander, I've spent the last 20 years in Kentfield, California -- home to Marin Catholic where Jared Goff played in high School, and was a huge fan of his their and at Cal. I was also a big fan of Matt Stafford and understood why he 'wanted out' of Detroit for a chance at the Super Bowl -- but I could not believe that we got Goff IN ADDITION to a first round draft pick in the trade. He (more than McVay) led that team to the Super Bowl and his coach back stabbed him. Goff has brought a California cool to Motown that Stafford never had -- a chill, 'I got this' attitude that's so refreshing and fun -- not unlike Goff's QB mentor, the great Joe. This is my favorite Detroit Lions team. Each game ends and I can't wait for the next one! Yes, Brad, Campbell and Sheila are all a huge part of it, but it's Jared Goff who's driving the train on Sunday afternoons. Brad and Sheila: sign him to a long-term deal now. He's the best QB Detroit has ever had.

    • @zarka223
      @zarka223  6 месяцев назад

      I completely agree. It’s best to have your rookie QB slowly get acclimated and learn behind a seasoned QB for a year or two. Hooker is in a great spot with the Lions. He will have time to recover and learn. The Lions are patient too

    In his first year with the Lions, on that awful team that was in such disarray that they switched offensive coordinators halfway through the season, Goff had a better passer rating than Matt Stafford’s career average with the Lions.

    You watch the other amazing aspect of Jared Goff in this season or the off season. He's loyal, even going back to Sean McVey for closure after being traded so the fact that Detroit; both the team and the city wanted him and stuck with him, building a team around him, he will return the favor. Contract extension talks: it's currently by comparison with other QBs that he was a $40 million dollar QB but during the 2023 season he is now up about $4 million more and with any playoff run and rise in salary Cap he'll be a $50 million dollar QB! This will happen, going deep into the playoffs. A Superbowl win gets him over $55 million per year but let's say he's just the $50 million that the experts say. He has setup charity organizations in Detroit and is there to stay. Do you know why the Lions won't be able to keep winning? Can't pay the players to stay because one or two are getting paid too much. Hutchinson is going to be the same way as will so many people on this current roster. Goff should get a 4 year, $210 million dollar deal with $180 million guaranteed according to experts. Jared will make sure the Lions can keep other talent paid well and will counteroffer something like "Give me the $180m guaranteed as long as the other $30m goes to pay for other players or I'll take the $210m but agree to play for 5 years for that amount"! He's loyal, he's a winner but knows he needs St Brown, Williams, Gibbs, D-Mo Laporta and that O-line plus a solid defense and ST. Nothing more fun than winning! Taking less keeps the team winning. Superbowl wins mean extra money from sponsorships. I'm saying Jared takes less money for his extension to help the team retain players
