I was a member for probably 10 years, Wayne's lavish spending and push for red flag laws caused me to drop my membership. Now I am a member of FPC and GOA. Those two organizations have had bigger wins in the past 2 years than I saw with the NRA for 10. The only thing one should involve themselves with when it comes to the NRA is the Friends of the NRA. All proceeds raised for that portion of the NRA goes back into the local community to fund gun ranges, education, youth events, and local law enforce. A few years back we bought patrol rifles and body armor for the local sheriff office that was forced to put that cost on the officers.

At that time, "rate of fire" would have been the big issue, and if Congress was to pass a law banning bumpstocks, which included limiting rates of fire, many other firearms could have been included in the ban. Trump had the foresight to handle the issue with a rule rather than with a much more restrictive law.
Too many people blame Trump for this dumb rule and sure ok "technically correct" is correct but he did the best he could to limit collateral damage to the 2A as a whole given the situation. Bumpstocks were an easy way to "do something" without actually doing anything.

I’m disabled and in a wheelchair, part time, I’m always studying and looking into ways of improving my means of defending myself; because, physically, I can’t win in a fist fight; and, I refuse to be outnumbered; in this world, as long as I am still breathing and physically capable, even with supportive devices like a bump stock or a brace. While this is a small win with SCOTUS saying the ATF overreached their authority like the case of Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo, a bill needs to be introduced in Congress that basically makes Congress the only body to make laws and all these agencies job is to enforce them . Until that is done agencies like the ATF , CDC , EPA etc will continue to " make " rulings that become defacto laws .

Same for pistol braces....that's the way it works elsewhere in America. You wreck something that is owned and belongs to someone else you have to reimburse them the value of it in full.
