New York already took all the handguns. When the Sullivan act was passed in the year 1911. You were not able to own a handgun in NY State. Unless you proved a “good cause” to a judge. This is what the Bruen lawsuit was all about. NY’s arbitrary rules of issuing handgun permits.

@@jjmckay6man1 No.. The Sullivan laws effected the entire state of New York. That is why a handgun can’t be legally owned without a permit. With “good cause” proven to be issued. That is why many state residents were stuck with “hunting and target only” restrictions on their permit. That is why the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association sued. All pistol permits are supposed to be “unrestricted” now. They just made it 10 times harder to get.

This is the whole problem with all these bullshit bills that go through legislation nobody that is carrying around glocks with switches cares about the law it's a fed case already nobody is deterred so no matter what bans and new legislation they put through its not changing anything for people that are illegally carrying everyday anyway. All it does is eats away at our rights and for some unknown reason nobody on these states seem to care at all. I would never live in 1 of these states that have these kind of laws on the books. Also these people that live in the fantasy land that any of this is making any difference to anybody is beyond me all it's doing is giving the government way too much power and control so they just continue to push the line further and further with every new bill and nobody cares about it or worse yet support it.
If this bill were passed the end result would be the disarming of legal gun owners but not criminals.

It’s easy. But it’s a mandatory minimum 4 years in prison if you are in possession and get caught.
I think the main reason we don't see more of it is they're pretty useless, at least in the hands of people are not very well trained in their use. The first round hits the target and the rest go sailing six to 20 feet over the target's head. I guess it's scary and makes lots of noise, but even gangbangers understand that a gun they can't possibly hope to hit their intended victim with is petty useless. I expect the criminals who do have them, have them more as status symbols and for intimidation.

The goverment begins by prohibiting a specific brand and when you come to see they prohibit all weapons and in this way you disarm the decent citizen to arm the criminal and thus take away what belongs to you who worked with sacrifice. On top of that, other manufacturers should stand in solidarity with Glock and also refuse to sell. The only issue is that there are tons of distributors that would still sell if NY couldn’t make direct purchases.

All gun companies should stand up for us and refuse to do business in states that don’t respect the second amendment.
I wish all gun manufacturers would stop selling to law enforcement that is busy trampling on any type of 2A rights.

It's long past time for gun, magazine, and ammo companies to cease selling their stuff to anti-gun state and local governments, and anti-gun politicians security teams, this should include a contract with their dealers that they are not allowed to supply to those entities either. We'll see how anti-gun these politicians remain when their bodyguards can't get weapons and ammo.

At this point New York is just going to ban every single fire arm, because all of them can be modified in some way shape or form. Why does anyone bother living in New York? Or at the very least, why bother living in New York city? I wish Upstate New York would just separate itself from NYC and declare itself a new state and get a new governor (That's not Democrat!) because Upstate New York is great aside from a few stuff.

NY seems to be the absolute worst state when it comes to firearms. We can’t even buy semi auto rifles anymore without a permit which is the same as getting a CC permit 🤦♂️ literally can’t even go buy a .22lr if it’s semi auto which is INSANE. I dream of having the gun rights that other states have.

When I lived In upstate NY it took me over a year and close to 1k to get a pistol permit. And thats not a carry permit, just to own it and keep it at your house. So glad I moved out of that shit show

Im a gun owner and believe in 2A, when in heard the shots, I knew immediately that the shooter had a switch. criminals don't care about the laws, and law abiding gun owners in Cali have to pay the price.

No, all Glocks are currently available in NYS. To pistol permit holders. But sold with 10 round magazines. Who would want a Glock 17 with a 10 round mag? That is why I own few full size, or double stack pistols.

This is a baseless claim. They're basically saying that because a product 'could' be easily modified into a machine gun, and the manufacturer is aware of it, its incumbent upon them to modify their product? There are millions of products on the market, which, if used exactly as they are intended to be (NO MODIFICATIONS) can kill somone: cigarettes, alcohol, prescription drugs, vehicles, baseball bats, cutlery, bricks, power tools, golf clubs, etc. Why don't we sue everyone who makes any product that can kill a person?

The problem, as always, is a vague term used in the law. In this case, it is the phrase 'readily convertible'.
The thing us, it's not readily convertible without buying a major component (a Glock switch).
Just because it's relatively easy to obtain that component doesn't mean that the gun is readily convertible.
That "problem" is completely intentional so they can immediately apply this law to all firearms and once again end run the 2nd.

If I were the Glock company I would never sell another gun or parts or any other accessories to New York law enforcement or state military organization. Any other firearms or parts distribution companies should refuse to sell to them as well. Let them do without.
