Also after some additional listening/digging it would definitely seem the Necrolith Bone Dragon IS NOT a typical Construct but a genuinely resurrected Dragon like the Tomb Kings themselves, which is quite interesting! Still well within the power of the Tomb Kings to do, but I do wonder if this means they'll be gaining other such creatures in the future?

I recall you mentioning that raising and controlling Skeletons is increasingly harder depending on how strong/complex the corpse is and that doing it with a Dragon is incredibly difficult (hence the use of Zombie Dragons instead). How do you think the Tomb Kings circumvented this issue?
@@Yotamb9 Not him but the way that TK do "Reanimation" isn't the way necromancers do, it's generally done Pre-death to make the raising easier. When a TK raises a new legion they're not finding skeletons and raising them, they're opening crypts of ritually embalmed servants and warriors that just need them to flip the on switch if you will. Basically "Break seal to animate undead". All this would require is some lore stating that the mortuary cults did the same thing to these Dragons. Would also make them having Zombie Dragons in Warmaster make some more sense. I actually think that "Necrolith" is going to just be the prefix meaning that the creature was worked on by a Necrotect, this and the Bone Giant being wholly bone and less 100% construct with some bones in it.
I think its interesting that the bone dragon is an actual dragon from the region. To me its a nice diversification of the usual themes of the tomb kings, adding a monster that is not a construct.
Also I enjoy seeing different dragons for different regions of the world. Much better than there just being elven and eastern dragons.
New FEC stuff looks so good, it's a lot clearer now what each units delusion is, and I think that's neat.
I really want some big lore videos of AOS lore from you LoS.
I'm a big AoS and WHF fan, so FINALLY getting Ushoran is like a dream come true and a LOT of AoS only players are considering getting fully into FEC because of him and the refreshed range
About Lauka Vai being in Aqshy
In the timeline section of the Soulblight Gravelords Battletome she is challenged by Prince Vhordrai to meet him in Aqshy to settle a dispute because Vai had accidentally killed a bunch of renowned vampiric bladesmiths Vhordrai was allied with
So that could be why she’s suddenly in Aqshy but then the Twin-Tailed Crusade runs into their feud
Ushoran is bloody unbelievable, AOS models are the best range
Ushoran looks stunning
God this tempts me to start playing FEC.
The terrorghiest knights are bad ass. Would love to see a blood dragon variant one day with actual plate
As a tomb king player I agree with basically everything. Dragon is amazing but i wanted 2 or 3 more to match bretonnia. And a death alliance player I'm happy and very surprised that FEC got all of this. I personally won't play them but i can admire what they got.
Have to say "for someone to watch like a ten minute type of deal" with a 45 minute video is so sotek and I love it haha
The Skeleton Warriors models are old, but I don't mind them. I own 120 of them, so that tells you something.
I really hope these new old world units get added to twwh3! Always good to have more unit variety
Ill admit ive been into warhammer fabtasy lore for years but i only tried to get into the hobby proper...once. i was thinking of making an undead army and my friend wanting to be supportive sent me my very first Mini. A necromancer from age of sigmar, the mini is also for fantasy but i absolutely did not know this at the time and was going by the packaging alone. I shared what i thought was a heartwarming story about how i got my first mini in a group on facebook dedicated to warhammer fantasy. They absolutely tore me to pieces for not knowing the mini was also for fantasy. I...it was so bad i legitimately never tried to get into the tabletop again and have stuck to the lore. To this day its the only mini i own.
Im a big TK fan since 8th edition and when they told us old world is coming, i thought all the old kits will get new beautifull models like aos, but now im dissapointed and afraid old world wont get enough sales couse no one will buy 20 years old models, including me...
These new ghouls will make for fun mutie kitbashing for Necromunda imo.
As a warhammer total war player id really like to see the bone dragon as a mount option one day and now after seing the ghouls i hope for a age of sigmar total war even more one day
I wanna see all missing mortarchs
Friendship ended with Malerion hype, Ushoran reveal is my new best friend
It's probably a combination of Petrified bone...... and metals to animate it.
I do enjoy when Sotek goes on his lore rants.
As I’ve said before i suspect that only HQ’s and new units are going to get new models for TOW at least for starters. I will admit the dragon while a nice model is not something I would have added to TK and I think a giant crocodile monster would have fit their themes better though I understand why Gw decided to create it.
Ushoran looks great and I’m happy that FEC have finalised their themes and designs though stuff like the Archregent does look a little outdated now. I hope the Dawnbringers book is good and I wonder if we will see a next one as this is the final book announced but not referred to as the final book in the article. I think the final book will be Chaos themed and give Khul a model.
i'm hyped to see that tomb kings dragon in action in tww3
is the dawnbringer storyline you were talking about someone visiting ushoran's kingdom from a novel or just stories in the rulebooks?
Part of the current narrative campaign going on that Gw uses to close out an edition
A bit late to the party, but given what we've seen of the release and especially rules for the Old World, it's now undeniable that GW is targeting the "old guard". People like Sotek, who played Warhammer Fantasy, probably kept one army (or more) in the background and have either moved to AoS, or another game system (Onepagerules, Kings of War, etc.).
Now, with that in mind, I think the reasoning of GW is : the people we're targeting already own armies, some probably pretty old and large. As such, entirely replacing the content of some armies (especially the larger one) could be perceived as tiresome to some. Imagine owning 50+ Skeleton Warriors and being told to replace them to get back in the game.
In 40k and AoS, it makes sense because there is enough players entering the community or buying new armies that keeping each of them as "fresh" as possible is the most viable option to GW, whilst HH has the advantage that one range is basically all 18 factions of the game (minus auxiliaries). For Old World, neither of these aspects exist.
GW probably decided it would be more viable to release completely new units and only revamp the characters for each Old World faction, whilst releasing the discontinued kits to start/expand armies. That way, an Old Bretonnian players doesn't need to replace their existing Knights, they just need to replace some of their characters and buy the new units like the Foot Knight and the new pseudo-Fay.
Now, I do not know if in the future, they'll start revamping the existing units, but for now, I wouldn't be surprised if Bretonnia, Tomb Kings, the Empire and Greenskins (our presumed 4 first factions) only get new units, revamped characters and re-released kits. Which is exciting in its own way, but kind of a bummer.
Ushoran was NOT introduced in the lore 40 years ago. The Strigoi were properly fleshed out in the 6th Ed Vampire Counts Army Book
What next Abhorash and Ollanius Pius
Hey Sotek, who are the other 5 mortarchs?
Neferata, Mannfred, Arkhan, Katakros, and Olynder.
@@archmageeldran2567 who is Katakros and Olynder?
@@The_Last_OldOne AoS original characters. Katakros is the leader of the Ossiarch Bonereapers who are constructs made of bone and souls affectionately called the bone irs. Olynder is the leader of the Nighthaunt who are a race of tortured spirits.
@@archmageeldran2567 Ok, thanks
It’s clear that Old World isn’t getting the attention from GW that 40K and AOS get. It feels like it’s going to be more along the Horus Heresy line.
By the GhOulDS! This is a vampire army that i would love to play, as for this moment the VC was the least attractive army form me. Just allow me to mix it with Necrarchs flesh constructs...
I’m still hoping for that AoS lore vid!
I love love the new FEC I'm so in lol. Always liked their lore but now feel the models give the flavour a lot more justice. Like the noble devot knightly feel but more akin towards nagash & usharin instead of the old bretonnia stick. Even though ive got stormcast, sylveneth, cities of sigmar, lumineth & kruelboyz I'm drawing myself more to the death factions. Maybe its because I'm a necron player in 40k lol. The tomb king model is sweet but I'm still on the fence with old world. I dont want 90's models at 24 prices personally. Feel old world is very low down on GW's supported games with a small development team. Its a real shame as someone who started in 4th edition. Time will tell but those old pegusus riders, knights of the realm & old skele boys with hands as big as their hands really puts me off.
Call me strange but personally I feel like dragons don't fit the tomb kings aesthetic or just general feel
Agreed, though if it was just a giant crocodile that might be more appropriate
Kinda hoping that he Allie’s with Gotrek and kills the shit out of Nagash and wears his skull as a codpiece
I loved when the Morbheg Knights said "it's Morbheg time!" and Morbheg'd all over the bad guys!
Praise be to NAGASH??????????????????????????????????
The lack of an update for the core Skeleton Warriors for Tomb Kings is concerning. The ancient kit not being updated with their last release in WHFB was a huge part of what made the faction unpopular in spite of the awesome newer models, so I feel this is a big mistake and at least looks like GW doesn't fully support The Old World.
They are ok
So does this mean Ushoran will join Total Warhammer soon?
Oh god that would be so sick
Probably not, but we can hope.
I’m overflowing with hoping for that
no.
Probably not soon and he will probably not look exactly the same, but hopefully CA will base his model off of the AoS version.
That didnt happen with Belakor, but he already had a concrete design before AoS.
Hey dude Nagash is a pretender my bruh this is a The Lady country
they actualy never aid fec were bretonia. those were all memes.
Do you know why *Warhammer Age of Sigmar* has the BEST miniatures ever?
1. This is entirely due to the setting where anything can be and everything is possible. No nonsense like "realism", "historicism" and "oldhammer" interfere with the сreativity of artists!
2. Models are created for round/oval bases. This is freedom from corners and r/f game where miniatures are just chips, in fact
3. Models are created for the most positive and friendly community. Zombies of totalwarian propaganda cannot understand this.
💪🐷
I think making it a resurrected dragon it's the wrong answer. It steps on the toes of the vampires. Again, i thought that since the beggining just by hearing the word "dragon"
Part of me hoped their "dragon" would be a big stone crocodile that can't fly but can swim
the tomb kings are literally a army of undead skealtons, they already are stepping on the VC's toes XD. also no, a big stone crocodile would just be stupid
@@arch-warlock7409 Have you seen a big stone cat? Or the big stone chimp with a bow? There's also a big stone coffin in the shape of a scorpion. Also big stone snakes with human faces. There's a big stone bug with an orrey on it's back.
How can you say, after all that, that a big stone crocodile would be stupid? My man a big stone HIPPO would be more identifiably egyptian then a dragon
dragons are cooler then crocodiles, also this is a FANTASY setting. would be surprised if the tomb kings didn't got a dragon tbh@@1YCARADOFACAO
I agree dude Dragon feels off for the whole Egyptian thing
@@arch-warlock7409how is a stone crocodile stupid? This is a FANTASY setting.
I have 2 problems with the new tomb king model
1 why is the face of the dragon super well detailed but the rest is just flat bone it make it look the model look off and jarring
2 why this that had no lore about it until know when there are many other thing we could of had that did have models like there herotitan or the giant war scarabs that have be apart of the y lore of years
For second point, dont u think its time we have something new in WH fantasy?
@@worlddd7777 so why not the giant scarabs? We know they are a thing in lore but not seen then once on the table top so what make an amazing new model for the tomb kings and nothing new need to be made up maybe a foe years later something like this would be good but not at the moment is what I think
That dragon...looks absolutely awful. Like, there are nice bits here and there, but the end result looks like an absolute mess, and I was struggling for ages to tell what on earth was going on with the model.
I like that its got a vaguely crocodile-ey face. I'll probably just chop a bunch of the bits off of it and the wings and pretend that it's a big croc construct when I build one. It definitely looks like an AoS style over-designed mess to me, way too much going on, looks like a huge pain in the ass to assemble, paint and transport anywhere.
@@Drayco91 exactly. Nice parts, bad whole. And yeah it really reeks of AoS design, but slightly fantasy. Which honestly is a big no from me.
And yeah, it looks like it "bounces", like Nagash does.
All this cool models are such a waste for aos... I would love to see all this cool stuff in the world i love but I just cant like the world of aos even if I wish i could...
comments like this make me happy that fantasy died
