Judge Krause agrees it's appropriate for a different Judge to preside over this case to maintain public confidence in the judicial system.
The case is now reassigned to Judge Shukura L. Ingram.
Judge Krause noted that she didn't find Judge Glanville's behavior within the ex parte meeting to be "inherently inappropriate."
I'm sure we will see many motions this week, for all sorts of things.
Doug Weinstein (Attorney for Deamonte Kendrick) says: "Stay Tuned. We are not done fighting for justice and our client’s release."

Great to know! I like her just from seeing both Rust trials. I appreciated how she handled Morrissey and Spiro pre-trial, too. Hearing that she has great character in situations outside the spotlight is wonderful and encouraging!💜

I watched this video during the night on the bedside tv so couldn’t comment. An absolutely brilliant presentation, I think you broke it down perfectly. I can’t help feeling that this was done to stop it going to appeal, and maybe saving Glanville's (and Love's) career.
Krause doesn’t want throw her peers under the bus and wrote up so vague, that the state can appeal 🤬

I agree it seems like it came too easy. I feel she told Glanville "don't worry I got u" he probably wanted to be removed for how long it's taking
She basically says "he did nothing wrong, but just so that there is no question as to the court's impartiality, in large part due to the opposition from the defense attorneys making it 'seem' adversarial in their motions regarding the judge, it's best to recuse him from the case and assign a new judge." As if the onus of cover up is on her to help repaint this as "proper judicial conduct!"
But she didn't point out the issues of the Brady material against the prosecution

I don't know. Judges do it sometimes for simple calendar management!

Why a mistrial wasn't given seen what the judge and the prosecutor mess up, she still tryna give them a conviction
I'm sure we will see motions for a mistrial this week, from several attorneys. I think we'll see stronger arguments about the prosecutorial misconduct with those.
Doug Sullivan (Georgia Appellate Attorney) says the State can't appeal a decision to recuse a judge. Jozsef Papp (AJC) just relayed this on Doug Weinstein's X Space.
This case should be thrown out
Its the fact that it was a clandestine meeting without the kn owledge of the other defence.
So the question becomes now is the DA's office going to be removed?
She keeps claiming she agrees that Glanville believed there was enough of a reason to allow another judge to hear the recusal, but he didn't believe that. He said that bs after he saw the upper courts were going to come for him. She is trying to cover for her boss. This is exactly why it should have been heard by someone in another jurisdiction! She recuses him but also says he did nothing wrong to warrant it in reality! Wtaf?! That court circuit is so corrupt!
Makes no sense
The new judge is about to get flooded with motions to dismiss, motions for bond, motions for jury instructions, the works. It will be interesting to see what Judge Ingram does..

That's still unclear. To me, starting over seems unfair; continuing this trial seems unfair. I'm sure several motions and orders are coming that will hash this out.

It looks to me that Glanville was in over his head in this trial, and, when pointed out to him, would lash out. He didn’t know the difference between civil and criminal contempt, but was sure he did. Then he probably didn’t understand the ex parte meeting law when Love set it up. From then, like a kid caught with a hand in the cookie jar, lashed out at Steele, hid the evidence and blocked his accountability. He will retire, or be retired, I predict.
It definitely came off like he was digging himself in deeper! I also wonder if he wanted to protect the prosecutors, or if it was just for the sake of his own ego.
So is it possible that even though he was removed he still being protected as far as his reputation and his position it goes?

I also see nothing about the claim that the ex parte came about because there was a risk to a witness’s life. This was a reason Glanville gave for the meeting. One reason for this could be Glanville just threw that out there and it was not seriously considered since there was no real evidence of concern foe Woodys life. Woody himself expressed none. I think she is saying the content of the meeting was reasonable and okay. Yes, the attorneys will take this further. Interestingly, this pronouncement comes hot on the heels of the decisive decision in the Baldwin trial.
Judge Krause definitely tunnel-visioned to find a reason for recusal without having to infer improper conduct! The closest we get to a criticism of the ex parte is that the court "generally" agrees with Glanville's assessment of propriety, as well as the first part of this sentence "While the meeting could have - and perhaps should have - taken place in open court, nothing about the fact of the
meeting or the substance discussed was inherently improper."
What's weird is Judge Krause acknowledges Glanville's judicial notice without criticizing what he puts into the record in his own defense. She takes issue with the mere fact he made a record in defense of himself against Steel.

This was likely approved by judge Glanville as a way to be recused, without ever admitting he did wrong, or have the courts rule he did anything wrong. It gave him an off ramp for his actual misconduct, with a finding that there was no misconduct. This judge gave judge Glanville a much needed off ramp. There was no way that an actual hearing, based on the very clear language of the laws concerning improper use of Ex-parte meetings, and the defense rights to be notified, could have been squared with the actual law. For that reason, judge Krause wrote this order in about the only way she could to protect judge Glanville.

Who is the new judge? When does trial start back? Where do the start? I have so many questions
Judge Shakura Ingram. It's not decided what will happen next - Ingram would have to catch up on the case by reviewing the entire record. Plus, we will probably see a LOT of filings Ingram will need to rule on, including new motions for mistrial/motions to dismiss.

I think where Krause is correct is by saying that by threatening Steele with contempt he became embroiled in controversy. I never heard of the ysl trial before that but this was so universally panned by legal commentators as incorrect that the judge had to go at that point. It was all fixable until that point, he could have released the transcript, etc…. That’s where the train really left the rails.
All while a Witness continued to testify! How can anyone hit the rewind button on that?😅
