    If you have a major credit a card a much better option is to drive for uber eats, door dash, postmates, etc. Rent a car from the airport for like $15 to $20 a day (most times you can have either unlimited or very generous miles) on the days you want to hustle. Keep that wear and tear off of your personal vehicle. I have made as much $200.00 in 12 hours with doordash and spent $40 on gas and car rental.

      Hey Lance, glad it was helpful. Yea I wouldnt recommend for the lease program only because of the expenses. If you are able to get a vehicle that you purchase for cheap or even lease through a dealer that might be much better.

      It's not worth it, period. I've been driving full-time in Los Angeles for a little over a year now... all my take home pay is equivalent to about 8 dollars an hour. Better to flip burgers, honestly.

    The problem with insurance and people getting kicked off is that most insurance companies have a clause that you can't use your car to transport other people for money which should be commercial use. People are doing this without informing their insurance companies and that's why they are getting kicked off so it has really nothing to do with Uber as it does with people violating the terms of their insurance contract. I actually just switched my insurance so I could drive with Uber as my original company wanted $200 just to be able to use my car for rideshare. Actually ended up going with Allstate insurance which is only 126 to do Uber. When you get insurance you want to make sure to mention that you're going to be doing Rideshare because most insurance companies will charge a small extra fee to add what they call a Rideshare endorsement. Without the Rideshare Allstate wanted bought 120 so it was only an extra $5 that had the Rideshare endorsement. Essentially what it is is that your insurance company will cover you when you are driving your vehicle for yourself. Uber and Lyft offer insurance call Bridge only while you are transporting a rider. This leaves you unprotected while you are on standby or while you are going to pick a rider up so the Rideshare endorsement is actually a gap coverage for those times. I should mention that the insurance I got through Allstate is full coverage as well as Rideshare for 126 per month

    • @gabeekemezie2333
      @gabeekemezie2333  5 лет назад

      Yea that is true, it can be a bit risky. Some insurance companies are loosing up but most are still pretty difficult to work with.

    I went with Fair. Had an accident recently, not my fault, got banged up pretty good. Since I was on the Uber platform when I got hit Fair let them handle the property damage. Note: Uber's insurance does not cover bodily injury for drivers. Uber decided to fix the vehicle, a three week ordeal. Note: Fair doesn't suspend your account and you are still responsible for the lease payments. More to follow as the case continues.

      @@gabeekemezie2333 a few notes on leasing from Fair and accidents. Fair's deposit is non refundable and you can't lease more than two vehicles per year. The vehicle maintenance plan does not cover big ticket items that may go bad such as tires, brakes, and the transmission, which you may be held responsible for fixing if any of these items go bad. If you are in an accident that was not your fault, let the other driver's insurance company cover the repairs. Uber will try to handle it but you will end up owing the collision center $1000 deductible. For any serious accidents that involves passengers and/or airbags deploying get yourself a good attorney, meaning not only do they understand personal injury, but loss of income.

  • @fudgedogbannana
    @fudgedogbannana 7 лет назад +1

    You said that " Its only 3 years" then you said " After about a month of driving you can cancel any time you want". if you can cancel any time you want, what does the 3 years have to do with it? if you want to cancel before the 3 years, are you still responsible to pay for the rest of the 3 years?

    • @gabeekemezie2333
      @gabeekemezie2333  7 лет назад +1

      Hey sorry that is a bit confusing. What I meant is that the total time for the lease is 3 years (So if you decided to keep the car for as long as you could you would have to return it by the end of the 3rd year because that is when the lease is up.) However what makes this different is that you are not bound by the lease like regular car leases. So if you do decide to end it short all you have to do is give them a 2 week notice and the lease will end. You are not responsible for paying the rest of the 3 years.

    • @gabeekemezie2333
      @gabeekemezie2333  7 лет назад +3

      Hey man, I think it is because you can use it to supplement the income you are making with your part time job up until the point you dont need it anymore then you can just give a 2 weeks notice and cancel the lease no strings attached. Also you can pay for the weekly fees with your partime job if you ever decide that you cant drive that week for whatever reason. At the end of the day tho it comes down to your situation but Uber is so flexible that most of the time you wont have any issue adding it on top of a part time gig. Hope this helps

    I've read that some people are driving for Uber just to keep the cars they lease because of the weekly payments. the profit is very little, if any.
    I'm curious of someone gets a car through the Xchange lease program, can they use the car to drive for Lyft? or for personal use since the cars have unlimited miles?

    • @gabeekemezie2333
      @gabeekemezie2333  7 лет назад +5

      Hey Karin, great question. Yea you can use the car to drive for Lyft or for personal use. Technically when you lease it through Uber its still a regular lease so as long as you are paying the weekly fee you can do whatever you want. I also know this personally because I drive for Lyft with the same car as well lol

    • @karinbauer7501
      @karinbauer7501 7 лет назад +1

      Hi Gabe
      Thanks for the information. My current car is old and not in good shape so I'm reluctant to use it for Uber. I have horrible credit and inconsistent income (I am self-employed) so I may no be able to get a traditional lease. I may sell my junk heap and get a car through xchange leasing...but the risk is making enough to make the car payments as well putting extra money in MY bank and not the Uber CEO's account.

    • @gabeekemezie2333
      @gabeekemezie2333  7 лет назад +3

      Hey Karin, if you sell your car I think you might be better off just using that money to lease a car regularly and use that to drive for Uber instead of leasing through uber exchange since the payments are way more expensive. That would def help keep more $$ in YOUR pockets

    • @davidveilleux944
      @davidveilleux944 7 лет назад +1

      Do a thorough breakdown of costs. Or find one of the ones that are out there. Do not believe Uber's claims on hourly wages. The only good thing about the xchange program is that you can cancel with only a 2 week notice. There are no cancellation fees. At least, that's what another youtuber claimed. I have no first hand experience.
      I think selling your car (if it is paid for) to take on new debt is a terrible idea. Especially if you are in a bad position financially. If it doesn't work out you will be left with no car and a big bill from Uber. If it does, you are enslaved by Uber making very little money.
      If you don't mind driving for a living there are companies who will pay to learn how to drive a tractor trailer and give you a job when training is finished and you have your license. I saw one the other day that claimed to pay new drivers 58-60k per year.

    So when I applied for the leasing program online, it was asking me for insurance upfront so that it can be verified. I don't have any because I don't have a car right now. I can't complete the app until I have insurance ? But then I have to purchase insurance AGAIN at the dealership when I go pick up the car? I'm a little confused

    • @gabeekemezie2333
      @gabeekemezie2333  7 лет назад +2

      Hey Karena, that must be something new that they recently added because you don't have to have insurance yet just to apply. I would recommend contacting one of the dealers you are thinking about getting a car from and speaking with them directly. You might be able to get that information first from their end and just go back to fill out the application to make it official.

      Hey Cesar Reyes I would suggest doing whatever you feel comfortable. I've done 12 hr shifts before and they can be really long days so I wouldn't do them back to back. If you decide to get started use my promo code in the description so you can atleast get some bonus money to get you going

    I HAVE A QUESTION ...
    When leasing with Uber Xchange you said after a month of driving you can give it back ...
    my question is how does that effect your credit !?
    im asking this because i would like to do Xchange then when i save up enough to put a down payment on my own car i give it back ?
    How is your credit effected ?

    • @gabeekemezie2333
      @gabeekemezie2333  7 лет назад +1

      Great question man. As far as I know I do not believe it effects your credit (I asked the dealer the same question) since you are not breaking your lease in a negative way it should be deducted from your credit score. I'm not 100% on that answer though so I would def do some more digging just to find out for sure

    Nice, i'm trying to lease with bama leasing. so therefore in comteplating on choosing either a prius 2 for $170 per week or a prius c for $150. Mr Gabe, what car do you think will be more roomy and economical? thank you.

    • @gabeekemezie2333
      @gabeekemezie2333  7 лет назад +3

      I think the prius 2 will be a bit more roomy then the prius c. Probably why they charge a bit more. However, if you really on a budget and want to save on monthly payments and over gas and maintenance the prius c is your best bet becuase it is a bit smaller. And it makes it alot easier to parallel park if you are in a city. Let me know what you end up going with!

    • @gabeekemezie2333
      @gabeekemezie2333  7 лет назад +1

      I would contact your dealership because since you got the car through uber I would imagine they would not let you keep the car if you were not working for them anymore. But they would know more about the process. Even if they did let you keep the car you would be paying WAYY more for the lease then if you just got your own regular lease from a car dealer.

    I want to use the leasing program for this plan:
    1) Move to SanFrancisco
    2) Stack just a few more grand (because I've already got some money I just want a safe buffer fund)
    3) Buy my own car with cash after a month or two
    I imagine the cancel anytime lease would come in handy for this.

    • @gabeekemezie2333
      @gabeekemezie2333  7 лет назад +1

      Hey Royal, it usually depends on what insurance you go with. In my case it was a little over 1,200. That includes the first 6 months which comes out to about 200 a month

    • @jke387
      @jke387 7 лет назад +2

      Don't go through a broker for insurance!! They can charge some pretty outrageous broker fees, and want to charge a lot of the policy up front. I would recommend State Farm, as they're popular with Uber drivers- get on their monthly, and you shouldn't have to pay much at all to get started with them (I think just the first month's payment, which shouldn't be too much if you qualify for Uber to begin with, because that should mean you have a good driving record).

    • @gabeekemezie2333
      @gabeekemezie2333  7 лет назад +1

      Yea I agree. Brokers tend to charge way more (learned that from experience) I had to dish out close to $1000 for the first 6 months since they wanted it up front. But if you go through State Farm or Geico, you will only have to pay monthly installments which is so much better. And I believe you dont have to pay your first payment till about a month after you get the policy

    • @jke387
      @jke387 7 лет назад

      Gabe Ekemezie Just one thing to note: it may be easier to obtain Geico, becuase you can do it online and don't have to go to an agent, but they require that you have a commercial policy. State Farm doesn't.

  • @Blake472

    That leasing program is a big rip off. Only a person with no other options in life would put themselves in that slave contract. It doesn't make sense economically to join. And it doesn't matter how much you drive either.

    • @gabeekemezie2333
      @gabeekemezie2333  7 лет назад +2

      Hey man thanks for the comment! In my case I had to put down about half (you pay half when you get the car and the other 6 months later) Ended up being around $1,200.
      It was kinda pricey because it was the first time I got car insurance under my name. After 6 months the rate drops down significantly. Hope that helps

    • @jke387
      @jke387 7 лет назад

      You went to a broker, I'm guessing? Saaave some money for yourself- that's outrageous! Get the maximum deductibles allowed, and try State Farm. :)

      Yeaa..so I was a complete noob when I first signed up lol didnt do my research when it came to insurance and ended up paying way more than I should have. So I would def recommend looking at different insurance companies that you can sign with. The reason it was $1000 was because I payed the first 6 months up front but I'm sure other companies have a payment plan as an option

    just been approved to drive for Uber . but I need a car how the hell do you lease one. been trying to figure it out for 2 days now. what do I need to do to apply for it

    • @gabeekemezie2333
      @gabeekemezie2333  7 лет назад +2

      Hey Charles, thanks for the comment and great question! Did you want to lease a car through uber? When you sign up there is an option asking if you are interested in getting a car. From there you can log into your partner account and apply for the lease (the application is fairly easy and done online). Once approved they will give you options on cars and dealerships in your area that you qualify for. Check out their site if you want to apply: xchangeleasing.com/
      Just sign in if you already have an uber account. You dont have to make a new one. Does that answer your question? Let me know if you have any issues.
