    You really bought at a great time (pre-covid). You seemed to have had a tiny bit of apprehension over what you paid, but with hindsight, you got a great deal. About to pull the trigger on a TDI and deals like what you got aren't around. Thanks for all your TDI videos...helped push me over the fence.

    Price/Milage/year yeah yeah but mostly this should reflect on it being a Sportwagon with a 6 speed manual transmission.

    Nice videos, Just curious how do you and others viewing the video figure out your fuel mileage? Do you go off of what the car tells or do you figure it out by hand; ie divide the number of miles driven by the amount of fuel used?
    Best I have been able to get on my 2014 TDI Sportwagen has been 40.5 mpg hand calculated. 85% highway driving at a steady state of 75 mph.

    Been watching all ur uploads, thank u for them. Im bout to buy 14' sportwagen tdi, 63k miles for just over $13k tag,title n shit included. Firstly, that a good deal? Secondly, I wanna upgrade the sound system, I dont listen to much rap n hip hop but really appreciate good bass, any suggestions? More importantly how often shouldi be taking this thing in for work to keep it as healthy as possible?

  • @clothestravel
    @clothestravel 4 года назад +2

    Dude, you got a steal, especially out the door! I don’t think you could get much more than 600 miles on a single tank though, even with dedicated highway driving. My longest tank has been 593 miles, which was mixed highway and city.

    • @DArias
      @DArias  4 года назад +1

      I feel I got a good deal def! I’ve seen better ones recently haha but for what I needed and the condition of the car I can’t complain..and I have gotten over 600 no joke not all the time but I have..I do mostly highway driving though due to work and stuff with some city mixed in here and there. That was before the roof box and all that other stuff causing like aerodynamics butrecently no my mileage has gone down I’ve been having a small egr issue which has killed my fuel mileage my past couple of tanks have been about 520ish

    • @DArias
      @DArias  4 года назад +1

      593 is great though! These cars are very hit and miss it seems I see people even stating online they can barely get 400 out of a tank and I’ve never had that issue personally.. the mk6 tdis seem to be a bit temperamental with some people luckily I guess maybe I got a good one? Not sure haha

      DArias_ Have you had any issues with your glow plug light flashing? How about the sunroof leaking? That is a pretty commonly reported issue, although I have not experience it yet (knock on wood!)

    • @TimmyHD
      @TimmyHD 4 года назад

      @@DArias I seem to be one of those people who can barely get over 400 miles per tank. Granted I drive quite a bit of city, but it's mostly long back roads with barely any stops and some highway mixed in. Do you know if a dealership would cover this under warranty? No check engine lights or anything and seems to run good.

    Great video! I found a ‘15 TDI manual in mint condition. SEL trim package and 24k miles. It was “fixed” in late 2018, and the service records are perfect too. They are asking 14k. Too much?

    • @DArias
      @DArias  3 года назад +3

      $14k sounds about right tbh it’s a fully loaded model with only 24k miles. Seems fair to me! You probably have a little wiggle room to bring the price down a bit

    I have 2013 Jetta TDI with 112K miles, kinda worried that the extended warranty is expiring at 120K...the HPFS and I do get some ice in the inner cooler system (some cold stutter starts but not all the time). Time to think...any one else with experiences with 13 models longer than 120K miles?

      The ALH engine is amazing and considered by many to be the best TDI engine ever offered. Many people have posted videos of them getting 800+ miles on a tank so I feel if that’s the route you choose it’s a great one haha.. they’re fuel efficient and literally last forever multiple people on the TDI forums on Facebook have driven them 300k plus miles and still running strong no issues

    If you ever got a tune , diesel gate is void ?

    • @DArias
      @DArias  4 года назад +1

      Usually yes ! BUT there are loopholes at times in the system.. there are some mod friendly dealers that will hook you up as long as none of the emissions components have been removed such as dpf and egr.. other dealers will flag you for being tuned. Also there is the playing dumb factor where back in the past for example I had a gti and blew it up took it in for warranty work all stock except a tune and they saw the tune and I played dumb acting like I bought the car that way lol.. it really depends on your service advisor the dealer you go to etc.. luckily in my case I have my methods of getting things fixed in case of something catastrophic happening

    • @bigtimeify
      @bigtimeify 4 года назад +1

      @@DArias I could not seem to regenerate the dpf on my own by driving it. Its an audi wagon with 68,000 miles. It was aready fixed from the diesel gate. But way way way under the warranty limit for that repair. Then my dpf light came on. It did have a tune but I only put very minimal miles on the car after that tune. If its still covered under warranty I would shit that it wont be fixed cause that tune. Which i removed

    • @bigtimeify
      @bigtimeify 4 года назад +1

      @@DArias at the dealership they did a regeneration at charged me 80 dollars but it was like 160 normally. She said I did not have warranty. Was it flagged ?

    • @DArias
      @DArias  4 года назад +1

      It is possible that they flagged the car which is what it sounded like. Personally I would have asked why the car was flagged if everything else was stock besides the time.. also a lot of times when the car won’t regenerate you can force a regen yourself go on a spirited time on the highway usually in 4th gear to get the EGTs super hot to force a regen on the dpf to clear out all the soot. Dealers are annoyed at the fact that so many people are having this issue and the dpf parts are on back order. There’s even been rumors that Volkswagen May do a second round of buy backs and just give up on the tdis overall
