The one effective technique I use is staying in touch with a financial coach for guidance, it might sound basic or generic, but getting in touch with a financial adviser was how I was able to outperform the market during the pandemic and raise a profit of roughly $400k
That last part was a kick in the butt that I needed! If she can grow her side hustle through all that, I have no excuses! I went to so many school’s, when I was young and growing up in Jamaica 🇯🇲 lol I went to law school and did 2 semesters, I went to culinsry school and was one year away from becoming an executive chef 👨🏽🍳 but I left and went to university and got a bsc in business administration, major in marketing and sales. Migrated to Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 got another degree in Theatre acting, filmmaking and psychology. Now I am working on launching my luxury lifestyle brand, a luxury skincare brand. I am so excited. I love cooking, but for my family. Growing up in Jamaica we learn to cook from age 5-8, by 10 most of us are like a professional chef 🧑🍳 👨🏽🍳 👩🏽🍳 lol. Those of us who have SO MANY culinary ideas but have to deal with shacking up with a bunch of housemates who won’t let you cook in peace, or only have a dingy basement kitchenette don’t have the same luxury, nor have the extra money to just go play around in a commercial kitchen. As a first generation Jamaican, I grew up right in Flatbush, Brooklyn too. She is right. Their mentality is go to school, behave, get good grades, pick a career with a great pension, work 30 years, endure the misery so you can retire at 65 and live your remaining 10 to 20 years as comfortable as you can. I feel so proud that she took something that we all saw our mothers and grands doing, and made it into a successful business. I follow her on IG and I love to see her family.
