    Technique = an efficient use of strength

    FINALLY! a BJJ black belt that keeps it real! - I have been saying this for years, don't believe the hype that it is all about the technique! That's why the top jiu-jitsu practitioners are built like superheros!
    You don't smash people with tech lol

      literally Alex ! if you don't have strength you absolutely cannot impose your technics ! period !

      Agreed. On the other hand, some teachers at gyms will tell you, your so strong as a back handed compliment. Basically saying you have no technique.
      N if that's the case it's a clear reflection of the coach's training.

    Stop using your size! Stop using your flexibility! Stop using your cardio!! Stop using your grip resistance! Stop using your balance! Stop using your inteligence! Stop using your memory! Stop using your intuition! See? Strength its just a part of the ting we call technique

    use strength and techniques at the right time. Use weight most of the time to avoid gassing out. Relax while grappling it saves a lot of energy.

    I think this video sums it up well, that if you’re getting tired out you’re not utilising strength and technique efficiently, generally ego getting in the way which doesn’t help you develop your skillset

    Funny all you hear is dont use a lot of strength but never mind how flexible I am or how much cardio I got,

    You are awesome and i love your clips with all this weird tehniques that work from around the world. I get your idea with the strenght here, but i have a question, is it still ok if you are sparing a much smaller opponent and you are not that advanced?

    When training for competition, use strength. If you outclass your opponent, focus on an aspect of your game vs. shutting down the mutual learning.

    Blue belt here.I use strength often, in my opinion if you have something that you can relie on then use it but also combine it with technic cuz in the end everyone uses strength

    It's funny but quite often those complaining about people using too much strength are those getting their butt kicked. His analogy is perfect. I'm blessed to be naturally strong and can roll match after match. But I always tell my students that using strength within a methodology is ok. But after a while you will naturally find that it doesn't take as much when you have your game fine tuned...Now that I turned 50 I will probably start complaining about it. LOL :)

  • @MrMZaccone
    @MrMZaccone 7 лет назад +13

    If you are using a lot of strength, what happens when you encounter someone who has more? There is a limit to how much strength you can have. There is no limit to how much technique you can develop.
