Loved what she said about Sofia Coppola essentially changing her life by letting her know that's she's a beautiful human being. Goes to show how much kindness and care can impact other people's lives, I think oftentimes without the other person knowing.

@@lukasribin4168 Kirsten Dunst doesn't fit the typical Hollywood/supermodel beauty standards. She's done so many great things. And she seems so grounded. Cool woman, great actress. People don't tend to give her credit, but with Melancholia and Fargo she hit it out of the park.
Sorry to break it to you but she’s definitely not grounded at all. Worked for a magazine back in 2013-2015 she was on set one day and after she was in the grocery store next door. One of the staff at the magazine saw her in produce and he looked at her and then she made security kick him out. Lol it was very telling.
@@michaelcurtis4627 there are three sides to every story. Do you really think this is enough to get people to think poorly of her? Perhaps she had a good reason for feeling the need to get security to “kick him out.” Perhaps he said or did something to make her feel uncomfortable. I sure don’t know, I wasn’t there, but if you’re going to bring up something like this you should’ve realized it was hardly enough to make her come off in a bad light.
She has been in so many iconic movies. As far as child actors go she's had one of the best line up. I'm sad to say that I haven't seen much of her stuff as an adult, I have a lot of catching up to do.
She's so talented! Her vulnerability in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was incredible! And she was brilliant in Crazy/Beautiful: a very underrated movie.
I still watch Marie Antoinette and still find it intriguing and oddly seductive. There's something unusual about it that makes it like no other film in memory. It has a strange magic. It's a great film and its stature has only grown over time. And Dunst was genuinely beautiful in it. That film is going to be around for a long time and will likely become a classic.
The 1938 version with a Oscar nominated performance by Norma Shearer is a great classic. Shearer perfectly and beautifully captured the title character with grandness, elegance and pathos.
@@soccermommyNPC Yes indeed, gorgeous stuff - both the contemporary and the Baroque pieces (particularly the bits of opera performances). Great synthesis of profoundly disparate periods and styles - which makes you ask: what do they share in common? I've a feeling Sofia Coppola gave a lot of thought to this.
"Little Women" will always be one of my favorite movies of all time. There's nothing that compares with the warmth and love in that movie. The only thing I don't like about it is when Kirsten Dunst is changed for the older actress. She did a good job as well, but Kirsten brought so much more charm and vivacity to the character.
I randomly went to watch as there was nothing else that interested me and didnt know what to expect, I was blown away it stated with me for months as I was depressed at the time, masterpiece in my view
I agree! That movie is amazing, and Kirsten's acting is the best in the film. Just like she upstaged Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt in Interview with the Vampire, she does the same to Gainsbourg and Sutherland in Melancholia. And I like those other two a lot, especially Gainsbourg, so I am not throwing shade.
She killed it in Fargo. I was actually a bit surprised, that she managed to be one of my favourites of the show. But she did. Peggy Blomquist we won't forget :)

I love her! Kirsten is so underrated, she can do both comedy and drama, she's always been very versatile and charismatic. Personally, my favorite performance is Krystal in On Becoming a God in Central Florida (hopefully there'll be a season 2)
@Miss Manawaka for the calibre of talent that she has, she is definitely underrated for not being as wildly celebrated as an icon. Certainly no one denies her much-celebrated success otherwise. In fact it is precisely because she has touched the precipice of "almost" being forever celebrated that a lot of us think she is underrated, for how much she has achieved and how she isn't at the same level as a Scarlet Johansson, for example, who has also grown up doing movies, like Kristen.
Time and time again, Kirsten has proven that she is one of the most talented and exciting actresses we have working today. Her fearlessness in picking more risky roles is inspiring, she clearly doesn't care about being "commercially successful" but instead she has gained a reward more important than any of that. Absolutely love and admire her!
She didn't touch on it but she stars in my all time favorite movie- Elizabethtown. Because it wasn't a great success, I don't know what her feelings on about it but I will definitely always be grateful for that one. It changed my life and I think her performance is incredible. She makes what could have been an annoying type of character and brings this wonderful depth to her.
I recently watched her show "On becoming a God in central Florida" and what a gem that was. I am honestly sad that it got cancelled, but understand as it didn't seem to attract the viewership it deserved. I can recommend it to anybody who would want to enjoy Kirsten doing her thing. Absolutely amazing.
When I was a kid/teenager and didn't care about actors/actresses' names I was always like "hey it's that Jumanji girl." I guess I started following her career after "Spider-Man", she is really that embodiment of innocent young love. Also, I admire her for recognizing how lucky and how much help she had: no one will ever topple her Claudia in "Interview with The Vampire".

LOVE Kirsten Dunst. I feel like very few actresses can pull off pure comedy and high drama like she can. A truly versatile actress, I really hope she is recognized by the Academy one of these days.
''Sam always wanted the quality, the heart and soul, that was always the most important'' This right here, this exact sentence is what always make this trilogy special, it's about social interaction with these characters, Peter and his family Uncle Ben and Aunt May (pay attention to how intimistic those moments are filmed with the addition of Dany Elfman's music) there was a real feeling of seeing a teenager maturing into a man.. The atmosphere, but also the cast, script and editing makes these movies superior to most of the new iteration of the character in my own opinion. Sam Raimi loved Spider-Man and his actors and you could seen it on the screen!
Great actress totally underrated. I remember her mostly for her role in “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” (2004). I hope she she gets the credit she deserves 🤩
Here for this in 2024 - I worked as a primary crew member on a television show with Kirsten and she was by far one of the most relaxed, grounded and easeful actors I have ever met. But I love that movie, the soundtrack, the cinematography, everything. I recommend that movie a lot, but it is quite dark, so most of the time my recommendation goes unheard. She's right though, it not only shows depression but the calm of the storm, or shall I say the calm of reality (their reality in the movie, can't spoil it.) I really enjoy the films she's been in, but that is one my favorites overall.
Phenomenal movie. Very heavy but worth the watch. It always intrigued me how it shows the POV of the pessimist, optimist, the realist, and the innocent.
Kirsten Dunst isn't married she's engaged
@@michaeldauria4386 Ohh that’s right. I keep forgetting that because they were going to tie the knot earlier. I remember in a recent interview she said she was going to finalize it but then she got pregnant. They’re probably just waiting for both schedules to clear up at this point. Thanks for the correction!
Thankyou for your recomendation
Ah, Melancholia! I remember that an elderly couple left before the end of my screening.
it's crazy how many iconic movies she has in her resume and still people sleep on her
Kirsten is such a legend. She's been in so many iconic movies she's really kinda underrated.

She's very underrated

She's done so many great things. And she seems so grounded. Cool woman, great actress. People don't tend to give her credit, but with Melancholia and Fargo she hit it out of the park.
_Aanndd_ also on *ALL GOOD THINGS* One of my favorite performances by her
Sorry to break it to you but she’s definitely not grounded at all.
She's legit one of the most talented actresses.
I agree and wish they had talked about that one...she portrayed the helplessness one feels when being in love brilliantly.
And The Virginia Suicides!
I actually really liked her in "How to lose friends and alienate people" She's great in that one
As Kristen Dunst goes through her movies, I see my childhood and youth. I wish I had a time machine to relive it. It sucks to be an adult.
Although I was 22 when Interview came out, I still feel like I grew up with her.
No doubt
It SUCKS!
She is my age so i feel the same...
I endured six irratating repeats of Haggen Daz commercials and stuck with this. Great video. What a career!
My favorite!
I am so fascinated with her Marie character 😍 💕
That movie had a great soundtrack, too
@@soccermommyNPC Yes indeed, gorgeous stuff - both the contemporary and the Baroque pieces (particularly the bits of opera performances).
Did u expect that they don't change her when character gets older??

Melancholia is the best representation of depression on film I've ever seen, and Kirsten is absolutely phenomenal in that role.
Ugh loved her as Peggy, stole the show!

In a blockbuster superhero trilogy, kind of got her due.

Kirsten Dunst is one of my favorite actresses, like in top 10. She's definitely underrated. Marie Antoinette had a HUGE influence on me as a teenager and I see more and more of it today. I loved Melancholia as well, something about it drew me in. Her performances have just been so satisfying to see.
She's one of the more underappreciated mainstream actresses. Her catalogue and cultural impact are absolutely nothing to scoff at.
She really was apart of my childhood looking back. I'm happy she had the opportunity to sit down and look back at her career.
I loved what she said about Sophia giving her confidence to maneuver Hollywood and her vision of herself. Especially in a male-dominated industry, I think it really demonstrates the power women can have in each others lives. Beautiful.
Power lol, well men can have even more power with strong masculine men around them
She didn't at all mention 'male-dominated hollywood' though..

I’ve helped Kirsten before in a luxury shop. She was super nice & low key. I respect her and her talent, which is so clear.
What’d she buy?
I adore Kirsten, and I think that she has great comedic timing. Her earlier roles in teen comedies (All I wanna do, Bring it on, Drop Dead Gorgeous) are PERFECT. And her part in Fargo was great. I love her in dramas too, but I hope she will do some more comedies in the future.
Really bummed they didn't discuss eternal sunshine even though she had a small roll. It was an Oscar winning movie that still resonates to this day

The MOST underrated actress in my opinion. She’s absolutely incredible.
Still absolutely stunning! She's so down to earth and humble.

What a great career
I recently watched her show "On becoming a God in central Florida" and what a gem that was. I am honestly sad that it got cancelled, but understand as it didn't seem to attract the viewership it deserved. I can recommend it to anybody who would want to enjoy Kirsten doing her thing. Absolutely amazing.
I enjoyed that show a lot too!
Had always admired her acting, and then that scene in Mona Lisa Smile where she had her come-apart about her life ... goosebumps.
Oh crap, I forgot she was in that. Great movie.
Shes too good for all the awards shows honestly. Shes such a gentle person who has been in so many iconic movies.
Melancholia affected me so deeply; I could only watch in once. Her portrayal of depression was so spot on. That was an oscar performance.

Sam is the BEST, I'm so hyped about Doctor Strange 2 to see what he will do with the character compared to the rest of Marvel directors
