I am so happy I found this video. I am planting gardens on a new property. I am 71 and have had gardens for years, but my space lacked something interesting to work with and I worked full time and didn’t have the time needed to create what I was looking for. Now……our new property has provided so much for me to work with, including a ready made rock wall that our contractor did when clearing the property. It was a farmer’s property line that already had a good start. The large boulders the contractor added make it look like a lake shoreline. Your gardens are absolutely lovely and just my style. I hope you continue to share any future progress. You have the perfect voices for listening to and a passion for your creations. Looking forward to seeing more of you both in the future.

I just found your channel today and embarked on my latest binge watch! You both have an amazing sense of color, structure, placement and design. Perfection! I'd have to win the lottery to get all the plants that I have fallen in love with. I slowly add maybe half a dozen every year along with annuals. I'm teaching myself to propagate and not being afraid to ask other gardeners if I can take a snip! Have fiskars, will travel! We all love Garden Answer but it's nice seeing a beautiful garden in a normal residential setting like most of us have. I'm in New England, 6A, so it's enjoyable to see how beautiful everything's working for you in nearby NY state. You guys are amazing!

Love seeing a video of gardening in zone 5b. So many gardening videos are out of my zone 5b in Upstate New York. Good to see what survives in our sometimes wonky weather. Is the common rue aggressive in your garden? I am also always pulling evening prim rose from my garden. I support a local greenhouse's plant sale fundraiser and I suspect that it was in with plants I purchased. I watch Garden Answer as well. It is good to see techniques applied to smaller gardens which are cared for by the owners without heavy equipment and extra hands!

I too got hit with Japanese Beetles. You best hit em hard . I was only twenty three when my husband an I built our home. I after planting an adding more plants when I could ,I was young plus working long hours didn't notice the beetles until that actually killed so many of my plants and trees. They especially loved my red leaf plums. Such beautiful small trees, with dark purple foliage and white blooms in spring. Ate every leaf off of five trees I had. I didn't loose everything but they took out half of all my plants. I thought after I treated for them, got rid of most I guess, but the next year was when I really saw what they could do. Nothing rebounded they hit hard. So I'm always on the lookout for them. This year I saw my first ones on my roses. I sprayed everything in my yard, an I put out seven dust to protect my plants from any I know I didn't get or ones that just fly by. Your gardens are beautiful. Thank you for the tour. So happy you mentioned Laura on GA. She is a world of information on gardening. She inspires me to keep it up, and I just keep adding. If you have just a tiny spot, you can add something there. Lol

Thanks so much!! As the garden has grown we are aiming to keep things as low maintenance as possible. Some things will always need tending but whatever we can do to lighten the load we will.
