gday mate .. really enjoyed your videos of the trip and this one with your thoughts on the whole Tour. watching from the east coast of Australia so its certainly a bucket list thing for me .. thanks to both you and your young fella for taking us along. new sub .. cheers 🍻👍
Glad you and your son had a good time. I’m 43 and my Dad is 75 and we did the trip together again this year in my Mustang. The reason why the lines are so long for merchandise the first few days are we have all learned they run out as the week goes on. However you should have received an email that has a merchandise store where you can buy your son a shirt. If you don’t have the link I can post it for you. Last year they bought more shirts and posted them because they ran out of so many sizes. My experience is they would have swapped with you the next day if it hadn’t been worn. My great grand mother purchased a 1970 Nova brand new and we had it in the family up until 2000. Your car brings backs lots of memories. What’s the black car on the other side of the garage? Is that why you’re thinking about bringing next year? Your right about 500 miles is a good daily limit in an old car with No AC and especially with a kid in tow!
Thank you for the info. I remember seeing an email after it was over, but they had very limited shirts available. The other car is my 87 Buick Grand National. I would strongly consider that one for next time!
Been watching some of your videos. Just subscribed to your channel. It was my wife and I first time also on power tour, can’t wait til next year and do it again! Like your content!
Yes, I was on the tour. Found your Chanel during my preparation for the HRPT. Made a mental note to look for you or your car, never found you. As you said, there was a lot of cars.
I like the concept behind it, but it appears to have become too crowded. It's not a deal killer at today's level, but I might do it once. I've participated in the "Southern Classic" and will be in the inaugural running of the "War Between the Interstates." May even do the next running of the "US Express;" those events are a lot smaller, good group, you definitely run the cars and it's not done in stages- you take off & go, non-stop
I was there, my 2nd time around, and your observations are on point. The tour is generally better when you can roll with some like minded folks, and it looks like you're finding this out. Next year ,who knows, it may head toward Detroit, or go north to Minneapolis, or even west and chase Rt 66, which would be awesome except for the heat.
Not really. He loved it all. He slept a lot in the car, so that made it easier for him. I was thinking of getting his thoughts on a video too. I might do that.
It wasn’t as good as years past. I was a platinum pkg. holder because at 70 yo, it’s the only vacation we take anymore so we let them do the work. Platinum used to have exclusive entrance lane so we didn’t have to wait in line. That wasn’t happening this year. I also drove a Nova. 71 model year with a big block and 5 speed. I can sympathize with your heat issues, but overall was very happy with the cars performance and comfort, and yes, I had a stock interior also.
@@nowherefastgarage at the Louisville venue, we were totally cut off from all other participants. I believe a gold package would be very good for younger participants
You really need to get a thermostatically controlled fan on that transmission , 220 is to hot! They need to limit the number of cars and do this in 2 different events and 2 different dates. My guess is the foam is shot in your seats. While you are getting them rebuilt I would get rid of that uncomfortable artificial genuine vinyl.
I know that's hot, but it was only a few minutes. It mostly ran about 140. I was going to put a fan on it, but then it's hanging way too low to the ground. I would have to rework the whole setup.
@@nowherefastgarage It don't take many times when they get hot Personally I would try to keep it at 180 190 tops, You may have to relocate the cooler so you have fan clearance but a fan is an absolute must.
Ive posted multiple comments here, I guess the U too gods have decided that me and you cannot talk anymore! You should add your email address to your profile so I can email you.
Hey, sorry if I missed it. RUclips doesn't notify me about comments, so I have to remember to check more often. You can also email me at nowherefastgarage@gmail.com

Thank you. I do enjoy seeing new places. I think I would prefer if the locations were a little closer together, but I'm sure there's reasons for that.
Sounded like a great time. I'm hoping to go one day. Probably would have helped if you didn't have to do all the driving. Thanks for recap!
Haha very true! When my son gets older he can drive.
Thanks for this review. Really enjoyed the whole series of the tour. How did Nate like the trip? Any complaints from his perspective?

I would maybe consider the Gold package at least so we could get closer parking.

F.Y.I. Costco sells a great car seat cushion! Cheers!
Good to know!

Maybe a c6 corvette would be more your speed...
I do like the C5. Maybe one day.
power tour is a ripoff
In terms of money? It wasn't really an expensive trip. I spent about $800 on hotels, and $700 on gas. The long hauler package was around $200 I think?
@@nowherefastgarage 35 for a t shirt is nuts
@@johndillinger8482 I totally agree. But that’s how it is these days. Have you been to a music concert lately? lol.
Power our is not a ripoff!!!!!!😡😡😡
