I have a 2002 Chevy Express cargo van I used for towing. It is incredibly noisy inside when on the freeway. My solution is to remove my hearing aids. Sounds like a brand new car!
Brush attachment for shop vac would save tons of time, been there done that. Less mud you have to wipe up at the end is always better. Goof off would also take that old green adhesive off easily for future projects.
@@RM_Garage Maybe? For me it was part of reducing stimulus for my pup who had some car anxiety. I also darkened the non-driving windows for the same reason. BONUS that it's cool looking.
i did this on my 66 bug before i sold it but i’m dying to do this to my newly acquired 85 4runner. great video thanks for sharing, im sure it made a huge difference.
Nice video I got a 89 and I've been thinking about putting new carpets in now I might as well ad to the list (like we all do lol) and put in some sound deadening
Was 34 sheets enough for the 1st gen 4Runner? wanting to do my 1st gen as well but was wondering if I 36 sqft is enough or would i need 72sqft to do the truck. thanks
@@RM_Garage ah I see, did you notice a good difference with sound dampening, heat resistant, and sound system? I read that some people also put a second foam layer over the kilmats
Great Job! I have a question regarding water leaks on the driver's side of the 1st gen 4runners, I have a 1985 4runner and I am perplexed to where the water is weeping in, any idea where it may be weeping in?
No clue! I got lucky and happened to find a pin hole. Maybe check by the rubber grommets where the heater enters the firewall, or near the kick panels, or any common rust areas. Just gotta dive in there and check it out.
I had a leak on the top right corner of the windscreen and also a rough rusty patch on the inside of the A pillar on the same side that was stopping the door from sealing. The windscreen leak dripped out through the trim onto the corner of the seat so it was hard to spot the source. I used a plumb bob to find it.
I don’t think it’ll cover all of it, but it’ll do quite a bit. I think I ordered 1 box for my xtra cab and it got the whole back of the cab and a lot of the floor pans. You can do the math on it to find the square footage. Length * Width
Hey hopefully you see this but how many boxes did you have to buy? looked at the Amazon listing and saw it was 36 square ft. Per box, plan on repairing my project 4runner and want to use the same material as it turned out so well!!
Yeah I was thinking the same. Might need to replace it again, it’s pretty banged up even after doing some body work on it. Might go with fiberglass panels.

Love the ASMR cleaning content!
What a gem u scored getting a 1st gen 4Runner and u have a 1st gen pick up they both are amazing!
Appreciate it!

This is great! I have the same truck and so many of the same issues. I'll be looking for those holes in the floor pan on mine.
Well done. I found 2 summers worth of gremlins when I sound deadened by LX450.
Worth it in the LX?

Finally got an 86 a few months. Getting ready for restoration. Good content. Thank you.
Awesome! Appreciate it and thanks for watching!
Awesome work man and perfect timing I just got my box of killmat today can’t wait to get it all done.
Thanks!
What grit would you recommend to sand rust off 🤔
I just used what would take it off. Something like 220.
Looks rad! Now I have to do mine!
Doors and quarter panels especially made a difference
enjoying your vids man! ✌️
Really appreciate it! Thank you!!
Nice video. Excuse me, do you have the link for those D-Rings ?
I just picked up an 89 and recently stripped the entire interior. Going to clean it up next. What spray did you use to clean up all the grime?
I used TSP and purple power. Thanks for watching!

@@joshuasalvador2016 Yup! I have a video on my channel putting a second layer on top of this. It worked really well and I don't regret it at all

If I have carpet in mine how would I put it back in after doing something like this?
I have a spotless 88’ Runner that at some point I’ll be doing some sound deadening. Did you consider lizard skin at all before going this route?
Thought about it! Chose the mat because it was cheaper than spraying.
Hey awesome video. Just wondering what cleaning material did you use in the bottle?
Thanks! It’s TSP, and later on I just used purple power.
Thanks dude. I’m redoing a 1988 one right along with you. Much props 🤙
Did you only order one box of the sound deadening foam
I bought 72 sqft of the sound deadening mat. (Silver stuff). In the next video I used the foam (black stuff) and used 1 box.
i have an 88 pickup, i ordered 10 sq ft, do you think that’ll be enough? it’s an xtra cab
I don’t think it’ll cover all of it, but it’ll do quite a bit. I think I ordered 1 box for my xtra cab and it got the whole back of the cab and a lot of the floor pans. You can do the math on it to find the square footage. Length * Width

Hey! I used 4 boxes in total that were 18sqft each. So 72 sqft in total, exactly what you plan to do. And I had some left over.
