Love the clips. These are not just breaking the fourth wall (i.e. addressing the viewer directly); there are also a lot of inside jokes and showbiz references made briefly for a laugh. References to Don Kirschner and other things, well, you either get 'em or you don't. Very enjoyable compilation.
This show was so fast paced and cutting edge then and now. Nothing like that has been seen ever since. Bless these guys, they make me laugh even today. 😊
So good! If there's a third update coming down the pike, may I suggest: Micky's looking at the camera and saying "Now that's a trip" (A Coffin Too Frequent) and isn't there a line about "a little more ego and he can be president"--not sure if that was in there or if it qualifies. Either way, thanks!!
Hey, love the video! Is there any way you could do a monkees breaking character compilation. I just finished watching "The Monkee's Paw" and the part where Davy bursts out laughing would go great in it.
Ooh, I thought of another one: I think it’s at the end of Monkee Mayor? The big wrecking ball comes through the roof of their pad and Micky says his line half heartedly and one of the others says “that wasn’t funny”. Micky says “I never said it was funny!” Then repeats the line with a little more pizazz.
I may have missed it cause I stepped away but was the end of The Chaperone included? Mickey looks at camera and asks the audience, "Do I have to give back the ring?"
I remember when Bugs Bunny used to say about Cecil the tortoise, "Oops, wrong story." Even Davy Jones played double in 2 episodes. Just like Bob Denver, Tina Louise, Jim Backus, and Allan Hale Jr. did in Gilligan's Island. The public spectacles of today just don't make family-friendly programming like they used to anymore. I also should've realized that Phyllis was Robert Michael Nesmith's 2nd wife. In the Monkees comedy series, no character has ever shown a gun and a badge. That's what police detectives do traditionally.
Amanda Dockery it’s just an expression. It means when a character or actor make you remember it’s just a television show by mentioning that they’re in a show.
"I think you're cute!"
"So does my wife and kid."
Absolute gem.
Record I know right
The first time Mike mentioned his RL family.

Man, that show was one of two things: Either on drugs, or they just didn't care
My theory - 1st season: a little of #1; 2nd season: more of #1 and a lot more of #2
Nailed it!@@weebunny
I've been in love with Mickey since I was 11 years old❤❤❤
I loved Micky referencing the theme to "Circus Boy" (his first TV show when he was a little kid).
Great! The show hasn´t aged a bit.

"It can't be you every week, Davy." He was the Captain Kirk of the Monkees.
Not to everyone. I liked Peter when I was a kid... didn't notice Davy much.
Thank you so much for taking the time to cut these hilarious scenes out for all to enjoy! Time to share on FB!
RIP Mike, Peter and Davy. 🙏 💜🙏

Davy's giggle in that episode was great. I love that scene
2:38 gets me every time

I absolutely remember how funny I found this whole premise, probably 10 yrs old.
They did it, every episode.
Mickey singing the theme from 'Circus Boy' where he played Corky as a kid.
Deadpool could take a lesson from The Monkees
I may have missed it cause I stepped away but was the end of The Chaperone included? Mickey looks at camera and asks the audience, "Do I have to give back the ring?"
Enjoyed watching
Thanks 4 this!

My first introduction to vaudeville, before I even knew what vaudeville even was.
3:48 and 4:38 make me laugh so hard
Really how does breaking the fourth wall work
It means they talk directly at the camera/to the audience.
