I had the pleasure of meeting Davey, once. I was a little boy in London, England. He signed my 7-inch single of his song, and he was so sweet and kind. God bless him 🙏🏻
@@imranh5395 Lucky you!
I got to meet Micky recently and he was so sweet
I love Davy Jones he's a great person performer singer and dancer i was in love with him when I was 12years old now that he passed away I think 🤔💬 of him may you Peter Tork Mike Nesmith RIP Davy Jones ❤❤❤❤♥️🌹🌹🌹🕺🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🐴🐴🐴🐕😺🙊🙉🎵🎶
He had fantastic insight for a 23 year old.
22, actually. He would turn 23 a little more than 6 months after this recording.
I am just drooling up here. 😍 Adorable up & down & all around. Davy is like a violin. 🌹❤️
Very articulate and observant guy. This is so interesting to see another side to him.
He was such a sweet guy with so much to give to everyone His music was always so sweet and soothing. I love Davy Jones and all he stood for. He was a great family man and always talked about his family. God bless you Davy always
Incredible interview -- millions of thanks for posting it❤
I love him!❤This world needs more men like Davy Jones.
He's been dead a while now.
He’s been gone 12 years but this interview is appropriate these days 🥺💞🙏🏻 amazing man🙌🏼
He became a TRUE AMERICAN PATRIOT in PA and FL- GENEROUS GUY! He restored a 19th c church in PA, AMAZING!
What Church was that?
I am from Pa...just curious.
Well spoken Davy. A genuine and sincere guy. God bless him!
What does Davy Jones not know about? When the high school teenagers of today who are VAPING as of nowadays. It's also hard to believe that we, fellow Americans, have legalized marijuana. Charles Tex Watson tried this stuff. Especially when Charles Tex Watson was one of Charles Manson's disciples. Are we also going to be seeing Spud MacKenzie's ghost? 👻👽😱👻
Davy Jones is almost like a comfort character to me. Because he was the kind of person that you'd look up to and make you feel like you are loved if you have something like a low self esteem.❤
This interview made me love davy 1,000 times more ❤️ thank you for posting this
Me too!
@@candaceelizabethanne475 yess!! You agree!
I am swooning over him 💜
RIP Davy 1945-2012 He was a really great guy
Does Davy Jones know all about the strategy of what the Muslims do? The New Yorkers had a conscience to know not to allow the Muslims to build another mosque in New York. ☪️ 🤔 🙄 😳 😉 😏 ☪️
I watched reruns of The Monkees when I was about 9-10.
Probably 1988-89 and I was in LOVE with Davey Jones.
The heartache I felt when I found out that they were indeed reruns and he was much older than me. Lol
Davey Jones will forever be my first crush and heart break ❤ lol
Rest in peace Davy, you’ll be remembered. ✌️😇
Davy Jones never looked into the book called Abnormal Psychology 2nd edition. Davidson and Neale are the 2 psychologist authors of this textbook. One page in particular tells about the truth about voyeur behavior. I told myself this, someday, you ought to appreciate the Lord God when he took David Graue's life. David Graue was the 2nd Alley Oop comic book/strip artist and author. He continued on into Vincent T. Hamlin's work. 🙏 ❤️ 💖 💙 💓 💕 🙏
@@georgeshelton6281 Wow, I didn’t know that!! 😁👍
Ill love Davy forever and Davy was my very first love of my life and favorite Monkee ! He was a nice sweet guy with sweeteness love kindness in his heart ! Loved the interview !
This is an amazing interview I've never seen! Thanks so much for posting!!
Davy was such an intelligent young man, with a wonderful spirit. I could watch his interviews on politics, religion, and music all day. God bless Davy Jones.
WOW, hesaid he was going to die in England- awww, I know though he LOVED the USA, he really did and defended it with generosity and volunteering to play for animal shelters to raie money for FREE. AMAZING!
Davy was just so dreamy.
Ok Marcia😂
Davy Was Wise beyond his Years.
He Should Only know What he Said about England then, is Now true for America.
May Davy be Resting in Peace. ❤
Smart, honest and so humble. No wonder everyone loved him so much! R.I.P. Davey
He's so adorable and charming. He looks so gaunt and thin, it makes me sad to watch. I wonder what he was going through in that moment in time. R.I.P David Thomas Jones ❤💚💜🧡
The Monkees had just finished their movie Head, he said he had lost 10 pounds rehearsing to perform the Daddy Song dance sequence for the movie and now I know why his first daughter was born 3 months later in London, he wanted his child to have an english passport.
Thank you!! So much info in your reply 👍🏻@@Sunnygirl-hx5wr
Down to earth, enlighted minded... oh, what a person, very talented per say.
Great interview, glad the guys were able to do things together and alone. Finishing together still popular and successful.
this is a treasure! thank you ❤️
Love the way he sang and talked
This is an amazing ! ...Before the american epidemic gun violence issue was a thing to be reckoned with....Here was back in the day an interview with fellow Monkee Davy Jones having a serious discussion about gun violence.🔫
A fellow Mancunian,A wise man!! R.I.P Davy ❤🙂
How well did Davy Jones know the Bowery Boys? Did you notice that I compared the South Park characters to the Bowery Boys? The Bowery Boys comedy series is something that's family-friendly programming, not cult entertainment.
A lovely man!!!! It's so sad he died quite young. I'm sick of people commenting they weren't talented or a real group......they were all very talented and had musical skills!!!!!! The monkees were a great band who surpassed the likes of modern-day boy bands by stratospheric miles!! He is remembered and will never be forgotten. How he speaks so gently , articulating himself beautifully, something modern day artists seldom do.
I still do the Davy Jones dance from Daydream Believer😂😂Rest well 🕊🕊🕊
He was very sincere, and his opinions were understandable, and still are. Nothing controversial in what he said.
I love Davy Jones every since I was younger.and I love watching the TV show The Monkees ❤❤❤❤❤❤
WOW is he prophetic???? AMAZING...
Didnt know he was from my home city of Manchester. He's very cute and almost innocent in this interview
HE DID say he was going to end up here! SO COOL!
10:40 i loved this part. Davy really explained his thoughts about smoking. But it does cause cancer and it’s not a good choice for your health
I loved when he was talking about smoking. He seemed very supportive of people who didn’t like smoking
I miss him.
He wasn't wrong per se, at 16:50, just the timing, instead of 3 years, give it 20+ years.
And at 18:48, arguably that describes our political climate currently to a T, very interesting insight.
I was so very lucky to meet Davy Jones in 1987 an even like year that he kiss me on the lips!!!!
Wow so much Davy in one vid happy mother’s day y’all
Fascinating that this interview appears to have been during the 26 (according to Wikipedia) hours between when RFK was shot and when he died. I gather this based on Davy stating he hopes and prays RFK will be ok.
Soooo beautiful!!!❤❤❤
And we're still struggling with this alot more than then. So 😥
Just finished making 'Head' movie.
I will never forget Davy, and the rest of the Monkeys guys, the sound track of my time. I realy liked Davy and miss him!
Monkees
@@doneestoner9945 If "it" or they were the "soundtrack to your life" then you'd at least know their individual names and how to spell the name of the show that's shown 10 times an episode so stop lyingvang go back to your Lawrence Welk addiction. 😅
He was a wonderful man !!!!
Boi be spittin straight facts
Watching this beautiful video has renewed my love affair with Davy Jones. Even though I'm old now, I think he is soooo cute 💜
Why do they ask young pop singers about politics, as if they are expert in such matters?
Why would someone have to be an expert in order to discuss any particular issue?
Which is a funny thing to say about his comments about a country based on "We the People" - who are they supposed to ask? A failed con man with criminal charges? He's 100% right about gun violence in the U.S. even now. If politicians were the only people journalists asked about political issues...it wouldn't be good.
Cool interviewer,he let him talk
I had to scroll down TOO FAR to get to this comment! Sad! Tells ypu all you need to know about the future of the West. Smh. So sad. Cult of personality. Utopias NEVER WORK. Read your history folks. Daydream at your own peril. Love to see a US Navy Seal or Delta operator interview and enl8ghten this guy. Hrs BLESSED they arecout there so he can even exist. Read your history folks. FREEDOM ISN'T FREE! Nothing but blood, sweat, andctears for thousands od years to make that onterview and his "success" even possible. FACT!
🇺🇲🇺🇸🇺🇲🇺🇸🇺🇲🇺🇸🇺🇲🇺🇸🇺🇲🇺🇸🇺🇲
Such a bad thing to happen before his interview. Love him sorry he had to deal with it
Anyone could think this was filmed today 😔 very poignant! Very smart man! 🙏🏻💞
June 1968
Such a boy! So young
Seems in the mid 60's Most of the guys in bands were handsome chaps !!
Wow who knew how insightful he was and shocking the talk about gun violence and economic issues 56 years ago???😮 He really had allot of things figured out at 23 years old. I was stunned and sickened when I heard he died. Like every girl in the 60s the Monkees were everything. Davy Jones made his American debut on the Ed Sullivan show the same night the Beatles made theirs. Look up the RUclips video of him singing from his hit Broadway show, Oliver. He was so talented.
Oh Davey, smoking certainly does cause cancer.
I could time travel and tell him what is contained in cigarettes. He would probably be impressed because I’m just 12 and I know a lot of things that adults would think are just foolish jokes
Sounds like Bernard Braden interviewing him.
This seems good quality to me , love The Monkees.
Sharp guy
Dear! Can't believe how attractive he was!
That zoom in on him with his eyes closed at 13:46 is so heaven..🥰
Un príncipe monkee guapísimo, encantador y con una voz inconfundible!!!!! I love ❤ Davy Jones!!!
Bless his heart
I hadn’t seen this interview before. Interesting.
Whar a cool, down to earth, intelligent man/boy.... ❤
Kind of heart breaking the first few minutes. But yes, the fact that the 'right to bear arms' is written into the constitution does breed a certain mentality in some people. Its a domino effect in that certain mentality. First their right to bear arms, their right to stand their ground, and by extension their right to go shoot someone who they believe is bad for their country. or they disagrees with them. The problem is not the right to bear arms, its the twisted delusion, that the right gives them power to use those arms how ever they see fit.
The first time I found out about Davy is cause I used to watch Brady Bunch on Nick @ Nite and that show came out a decade before I was born
Cute, but Mike was my man! All four were adorable. ❤hey I was 9 in 1968. Mike’s voice just melted me 💖
He sounds half-British, half-American.
14:14 my Mom said the exact same thing lol (I agree)
Same.
does seem a bit shaky but it isn’t *that* bad
I remember a story Davy told about his visit back home to see his dad. Dad told Davy to cut his long hair. He got it trimmed. His Dad told him to get it cut more. Davy bought his Dad a new home instead.
He is absolutely right!
I wonder what he would think about the world in 2023!
Kinda glad he's not here to see it.
@@Water_is_Sacred777 why?
@@derianimp For the same reason I'm glad my parents are long gone and don't have to witness the decline of what to them was a great world to live in. In 2023, life is dystopian and not anything as we older folks knew it to be.
@@Water_is_Sacred777 what????
@@derianimp I said what I said. It's not complicated if you meditate on it.
I love his laugh at 12:32 so cute!! 😍
Ok who screwed up the interview footage at the 9:10 mark? That should be taken out of your pay lol.
YEAH!
Cool guy. Wow amazing that he interviewed just as Robert Kennedy is shot. The idealism of youth . What s sad crappy world it ended up being.😢
He didn’t die in England which is quite sad
Yep. He lived right here in the great State of Florida where he sadly passed away. 😢 As do I..He is so adorable during this time (original Justin Bieber )🇬🇧 🤷🇺🇸
I loved Davy too as a teenager. Did he ever become a U.S. citizen? Anyone know?
I think he did. On a Biography episode, they said he had DUAL CITIZENSHIP.
Sounds like he's talking about 2024
13:47 aww love your smile Davy 🥰
Born in 1965, I've been a fan for life. I don't agree with his views on guns, though. I respect life but if someone tries to kill me or anyone, I will but a fight. It is not a lack of morals, as he said, but a right to survive. I will say that the problems now is that too many people do not value life. People used to go to school with a rifle in the back window of their truck but society's mentality has changed.
Davy opinion is his opinion on what he thinks about drugs JFK got shot 🥃 Bobby Kennedy Martin Luther King and he does not believe in guns of any kind
Ha! He said if it were him or the other guy in a war situation that it would be him because he couldn't pull the trigger. Then he said it would kill him to pull the trigger. He got it 100% correct!
He’s not cute..
He’s BEAUTIFUL!! 😍😍😍
My first love
Where did you get the idea this was "poor quality"? I saved a 1979 Peter Tork interview of similar length and depth (ruclips.net/video/ycCD5ppEPE0/видео.html) from being wiped and even coming straight of the U-Matic master tape it's nothing to compare with the visual and audio quality of this!
Sorry
@@derianimp Okay, since you apologized, I guess I can forgive you for posting things that are of fine quality and of great historical and entertainment value...
@@kenlieck7756 I have low self esteem and apologize for no reason 😅
Oh, just for the record, one tape I was unable to save in time was another half hour interview with the Beatles' film agent Jerry Pam. I discovered maybe five to ten minutes of that remaining on another U-Matic VTR cartridge but the rest had already been taped over.
Peter himself actually emailed me wanting to *buy* a copy of the Tork one (I sent him one free of course). His son later used some of it in a bio film of his dad, and footage was also used in some Monkees 50th anniversary presentations, which I was pleased to have been able to help with.
Well, I'm just getting started looking into the many treasures you have shared so I'll let you be...
@@kenlieck7756 that’s amazing! What’s the documentary called?
US and Uk over and over, what about Canada?Spirit of 67 was going on for a while, but I guess no one noticed.
It's not really right to ask an entertainer what his opinions of politics and terrible events are. It's nothing over which he has any control of.
@@777petew how is it “not right”?
@@derianimp Quite simply, they're entertainers, not political commentators. And especially these days, having an opinion can get you in deep trouble.
My parents were married two days after MLK died. They were probably still" honeymooning or what not.
so what was censored?
He's all over the board on political views. Interesting.
Ofcourse the medical knowledge in 1968 was not as accurate as today.
Very much America he was right and look now it happens everyday and they do nothing about it
?
This interview shows that Davy was not some big headed rock star, but a smart conscience young man.
Sad that the tables have turned and the immigrants are being given priority over others in the work force simply because of who they are, and not their skills.
Wonder what he would think about the murder and mayhem going on TODAY?!
bruh
You’re a xenophobic fool, the likes of which Davy Jones detested. So good job.
5:03 he actually died in Florida.
Why did Davy actually look like a 23 year Old compared the others in his generation who all looked like they were in the 30s and 40s that and Rodger waters
@@TheMorphking989 the other Monkees looked young, same with The Beatles
Davy is 22 at the time of this interview. (June 1968)
The original Russell Brand
Sorry; Davy pot is legal now and people are still smoking
lmfao thought that was my brother-
