Girl my hair is just as thick and gets really long but I have to cut it at a certainty point cause once it get too long I get lazy (not detangling it as carefully and not styling it cause it takes too long). Long story short I’m too lazy to want long long hair like this lol.
Trust me I have it and it's not all glitz and glam constant maintenance!!!!

Gurrlll..I am just 4 years in and my hair is 16"...my density is like her's. I initially wanted to get to waist length but I think I will stop at 20" and maintain that length. It's hard hard work..... Everybody admires but it's a lot of work. I keep my hair braided under a headband wig.
Her hair is absolutely stunning! And I appreciate that you were understanding and patient with her concerns.
Many things to say. First, clients hair is amazing. Next, your listening to her concerns and finding a plan to make her comfortable, love it!
Third, you could tell she was still nervous but relaxed as the process went on. You can tell how much you respect and care for your clients. Finally, the camera work is terrific.

My sister has naturally long hair to her bottom and went to her stylist. However her stylist had an emergency and couldn't do her hair and another stylist said she could do it. My sister allowed her to do her hair. After washing, the stylist said she needed to clip her ends. My sister reluctantly said yes and the stylist cut my sisters hair to the upper middle of her back. She literally cut several inches of my sisters hair off. My sister was devastated. Moral of the story, be careful who you let in your hair. Oh and the stylist was fired.

I agree. I am Caucasian but I have very fine thin frizzy hair. But I have a ton of it. If I go to bed with wet hair I wake up with an Afro. I am sensitive to going to hair dressers because they always want to do the same thing to me. Hack it off when I asked them not too. I literally brush my hair twice before I wash it and I brush it at the stylist too. Most times I have left in tears with them cutting so much off even though I have no split ends. I’m not speaking for every stylist but a lot of them are scissor happy!! She did a great job but I’m still traumatized 😕. Hair is one of those things for women that can cause a psychological and mental breakdown.

I appreciate everything about how you handled her concerns and her hair especially squeezing to thoroughly rinse the shampoo out! (I made that mistake only once) My hair looks just like hers and I'm at waist length because of the same concerns that she has. I haven't seen a styist in years not even for a trim for fear of the person getting frustrated and proceeding to handle my hair roughly and charge me more to do it. The thing with hairstylist dressers, most fear Real Long hair. Most want to cut relax tame long hair. To me they always show how little they can do with real long hair. My whole I had hair like that, so many wanted to manage my hair. Nobody was allowed to touch it. Is why I still have all my long hair. The hair of this girl is magnificent. Untouched real natural hair. Girl if you watch and read the comments ..Never let any one tell you what to do with your hair. What you have on your head is the envy of many. For a dark Melanine girl to have hair like yours is precious!

Yes, I no longer do the hair trauma! I wash, condition, twist new growth only! No more combs! Had enough in my 68 yrs! My hair is to my hips! Gotta love it!

This length of hair and curl pattern should be very loosely 2 strand twisted (6-8 jumbo twists) shampooed by individual twist, conditioned by individual twist, and rinsed by individual twist + Retwist each section after each process. Beautiful head of hair. I want that hair in my next life 😍

Her hair is sooooo beautiful. I have healthy relaxed hair. You have to Look at the reviews of people and go from there. I know that might not always work, but believe if that hairdresser is funny, they will review it big time. Lolol. I get my ends clipped with no worries. Some people don't know how to speak up either. My mom keeps going to a hairdresser that cuts too short but she won't say anything. I keep asking to get another stylist or say something!!

I understand the nervousness as well. My hair is 4 inches below my bra strap. And I'm so afraid to go to stylist. I've heard horror stories of roughness, putting some type of relaxer in the conditioner or plain cutting many healthy inches off under the guise of a trim
I’ve been natural since 2012 and my Dominican stylist use to care for my hair and be gentle. She started having more kids totally to 5 or 6 and her husband left her. She began to be so rough with my hair. I had 0 curl pattern in less than 3 months. Had to make the decision to cut it all and start over. It’s growing good now. No heat for 1 year and Ayurvedic treatments. In September it’ll be one year from my cut. Can’t wait to see my length. 😘
YUP my hair is bra strap length and the last stylist I went to combed my hair dry and slathered on conditioner without sectioning it smfh

One time I went to a young lady who was still in beauty school.
When I walked in she threw a fit !!!
She said , you come to me with all that hair !!!!
I always had my hair wrapped, so she never seen my hair .
I told her , well if you want to become a hairdresser , you have to learn to do all types if hair .
Thick , long , super thick , super long , etc .
All she was to do was corn row my hair .
Long story short, she didn't want me to come back !
I wouldn't have anyway .

Just for clarification, I thought we were supposed to avoid applying conditioner to the scalp. Have I been conditioning incorrectly? Im experiencing shedding. Could this be the reason? Any professional feedback is appreciated. 🌷
My scalp itches less since I stopped letting conditioner touch my scalp
The scalp is skin with hair growing out of it. Just like the other skin on your body it needs moisture. Just imagine how your legs would feel if you never put lotion on them. They would be itchy and flakey. So yes, apply conditioner to the ends and work up to the scalp then literally massage the remaining conditioner that’s left in your hands and finger comb the scalp to get the conditioner into the scalp and hair. The key is to use good professional products and rinse rinse rinse. If you experience buildup a good clarifying treatment is good once in a while to help remove excess buildup on scalp and hair. A side effect from coved has been massive hair loss. Certain medications cause shedding too. Hormones and stress could be the culprit as well... normal hair loss is 80-100 hairs a day so if you feel your shedding is more than that then you might see what your Dr has to say. Hope this helps. 😁
