Advice from an ex-content creator, (not this channel I'm commenting from lol) don't be afraid to really take a break this advent season from the list of "to film" and content idea lists, people really don't understand the hours of planning, editing and everything that does into each video. I have three young kids (6,4, and 10 months) and ended up after years of creating, decluttering my channel by deleting it. It was such a sense of freedom and relief, and gave me many hours back and time back with my kids. Deleting your channel may not be the right step for you but I'm just here to say prioritizing rest is hard in this space of content creating, but I'm rooting for you! God Bless.
This is such a great video! Thank you ❤ This is my babies first Christmas and I’m so excited to do all the things and make it magical but I really need to focus on what’s most important to me.
Thank you for this. No one talks about how to minimize the schedule other than to "declutter" it by removing unnecessary events. But in the end some things need to stay so learning how to prioritize is essential.
Loved the video and I loved what you said about taking a rest. I'm a perfectionist and productivity driven person too. I feel like I've been going nonstop since college. I thought rest was going to bed at night or taking a power nap. It wasn't until recently when I felt so burnt out and couldn't motivate myself to work on one single project that I just put my hands up and said enough. I just put a pause on all my projects, and gave myself a month to do nothing. Or anything I wanted. It was so amazing the clarity that came to me when I surrendered everything I thought was so important but now realized that the reason why the life I wanted and was working so hard and long to create, was elusive because my priorities were out of order. One Sunday, it hit me when I heard this reading at mass "Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you". Wishing everyone a restful holiday rich in blessings!!
I love your systematic & detailed way of thinking! I’ve been really appreciating your videos! Thanks for all your hard work and for the free resource you provided too!
I appreciate your work and videos SO MUCH! It's changed our family's life -- especially with toys, self play, and values-based decluttering! Thank you for this tool! I just printed it off and will do this tonight.
That's awesome! Thank you for sharing this. It's so encouraging to me to keep going. I hope the planner works well for you! Feel free to let me know any suggestions for improvements to it.
I think you would appreciate the Cultivate What Matters planner. It’s been the best thing for my motherhood because you are basing your plans according to your “goals” “legacy” “values”. Anyways love the way you described things here and it was encouraging! Thanks !
What a helpful and meaningful video! Your point about the Pharisees was so interesting. How often are we seeking meaning, but get lost in the mirage? I've been praying for our Christmas season since September. (I tend to get stressed and mired down in the "mirage", as you say!) Your video is so hopeful: this season can be not *just* about trading stress for simplicity, but can be about grabbing true meaning with both hands. Thank you!
I 100% relate to the idea of overstuffing the holiday season in an effort to make it beautiful and meaningful which results in rootless business. I am getting better at savouring slowness, but I am grateful for your planner and will definitely be using it! Thank you! I hope recover quickly and have a lovely holiday season with your family. 🕊️
This is SO great 💥 I’ve been following along your channel this year and it’s such a meaningful calming vibe - and the corporate turned SAHM in me really resonated with your lists and color coding 🙌🏽 will be putting this into practice!
Haha, it didn't occur to me how much my professional background played a role in how I did this, but you're SO right! I'm glad it resonated with you too!
I’ve really enjoyed your videos! I strive for a slower life and with your help I’m getting there. I took away at least 2/3s of my kids toys today and they were already happier thanking me. We are doing nature study for our homeschool curriculum and it looks like my kids are roughly the same ages as yours. Would you be willing to share homeschool video? I’m curious how I can more easily slow down and enjoy homeschool with them in this simplified shower living style. Thank you for your help!!
Hi! I’m loving your videos. This is random but I wondered if your french press is linked anywhere bc it seemed like a reusable filter system and very simple to use.. which is very appealing for someone who would be new to French press coffee but has long wanted to try it! 😂
It’s a great one! I have the Frieling brand french press and I've had it for seven years. It's awesome! The one thing I'd do differently is get a 23/36 oz one. Mine (16oz) is a little small, but that's also fine if you're okay with washing it between uses. Here's a link: amzn.to/3NVzqGQ
Great question! I actually forgot to include a link to describe it in the video description. It's added there now. It's an evening walk that's done with lanterns at the Winter Equinox. The idea is that you carry light with you into the darkness of winter. t's a way of saying goodbye to autumn and welcoming the in-breath of winter :)
Good question! I’d call it a pretty flexible idea. It’s inspired by Waldorf, and I’m putting my own spin on it for this. For me, an “in-breath” is anything that brings me closer to my family and helps us relax (like watching holiday movies, baking cookies, or cozying up with a book). An “out-breath” is more about getting out there and connecting with the world around us (like holiday parties or checking out Christmas lights in the park).
Haha, I wouldn't be able to get past peanut butter rinsing either. I was using the water as a tool to measure the peanut butter. You put in a cup of water and then the peanut butter. As the water levels rises to 2 cups you know you have a cup of peanut butter and can pour out the water. It's something my granny taught me.
@@papertownhomeI wondered if anyone would comment on you using the displacement method. I haven’t seen anyone use that in a long time. I always thought it was messy, but the way you did it was much less messy than I remember.

Just discovered your channel today. I love this message.
Welcome to the channel! And thank you 🥰

You have very interesting images to ilustrate your points. Nice storytelling!
Thank you!
Thanks so much. Love your videos, always looking forward to the next one ❤
Thank you!
This was so helpful!! Thank you for the great ideas and your pdf!
You're welcome!
This was so well done and very helpful. Thank you :)
You're welcome! I'm glad you found it helpful.
I like the idea of linking your values to your priorities. It can be a bit of an eye opener!
Right?! I find it helps me simplify things.
This really helped me to think through what is planned for the holidays! Thank you!❤
I'm so glad this was helpful!
Where can I find your Amazon finds? I LOVE the green candle holder!!
Absolutely! Here is a link to the candlestick holder: amzn.to/3UUDDOU

Hello, just found your channel (and I'm loving this video). Tell me more about this lantern walk 🧐

Diane in Denmark channel also has some great Christmas vlogs.
Thanks for the recommendation! I'll have to check it out.
Great video. I hope that you are well and that there aren’t any serious underlying health concerns that might be lurking around.
I appreciate your care. I'm doing well, and hoping for the best!
How do you determine what is considered an in breath and out breath?
Good question! I’d call it a pretty flexible idea. It’s inspired by Waldorf, and I’m putting my own spin on it for this. Why did you rinse your peanut butter? Loving the video so far but I can’t get past that haha.
Haha, I wouldn't be able to get past peanut butter rinsing either. I was using the water as a tool to measure the peanut butter. You put in a cup of water and then the peanut butter. @@im7mommy I imagine it would depend on the peanut butter. I don't think it would work with a more natural peanut butter.
Hi, new here. 🙋♀️I think you may have just changed my life with this. 🥲
That's the best compliment! I'm so glad!
