- As indicated in the intro I added, this video disappeared from the "library" somehow. RUclips is trying to figure out what happened. Anyway, here it is again. Hope this doesn't happen much, because generally with over 2,000 videos posted, we'd never know. A loyal viewer noticed that this video was gone and asked me about it.

Yep, this video was posted back in July; however, it disappeared somehow. RUclips is looking into it and trying to figure out what happened. Nothing controversial about the video, so I'll reserve my paranoia for other more suspicious issues out there. Hard to figure, though. If you post videos and such, you know that deleting a video is a three or four step process, so it's not like you can accidentally touch the wrong key and delete a video, as we've all probably done with a piece of text in a word processing document. Thankfully, a loyal viewer notified me that he could not find it; otherwise, videos could possibly disappear without our maybe ever knowing it.
I think the youtube staff got angry for some reasson and they wont tell you why or its just an error that gone wrong.
Probly someone working for youtube who was jealous of that sweet shooting range got there. I'd sell a kidney to have a setup like that. Great videos BTW. One of the first channels I ever subscribed to, keep it up old timer.
@Aragorn90 And what does that mean? Don't forget there's a whole planet here, and most of us "leftists" are the ones fighting to protect our weapons and hunting rights from the Authoritarians. Libertarian and liberal share the same root word: liberty. We're not the ones trying to encroach on your liberty, so stop attacking us and giving the real bad guys cover to do what they want.
The Google Goons strike again. Several of my videos are not visible from my channel page. Those videos still exist, they have not been deleted, they just are not visible when someone visits the channel videos page. Unless they resort the display from oldest to newest, then they show up, but the order may be scrambled. This seems to be happening to both gun channels and conservative political channels. Given Google track record, it`s hard to believe it`s not intentional.
@@MiaogisTeas Sorry, but not in America my friend. Leftists, Liberals and Progressives hate America, The Constitution, Life, Liberty and The Pursuit of Happiness. Instead, they spend every waking moment indoctrinating our citizens and our children with Socialist, Marxist and Communist ideology. We all wish it were different. The only people truly standing for Liberty and Freedom in today’s America are Conservatives?
“Doc why the hell you doin this?”
Doc: Wyatt Earp is my friend.

Thanks for re-posting this. I took my three sons and uncle to see Tombstone, while vacationing in Saint Augustine, Fl. I’ll never forget the look on my uncle’s face, at the end of the movie when I told him he was 13 years old when Wyatt Earp died. A good memory for me. I have watched Tombstone countless times. Americana! I watched the Wyatt Earp series with Hugh O’Brien as a kid.

A lot of guys are hesitant about buying an "old fashioned" Single Action revolver. They are so much fun to shoot! I encourage everyone to get one. You're holding American History in your hands when you shoot one.
just got one!

I did watch it the first time! And now I will watch it a second time! :) They better not mess with our Hickok 45 library. An invaluable resource when interested in a certain firearm! Thanks Hickok 45 and son!
Thanks for putting it up again, check your library regulary and see how it is with the episodes.
What a rare and beautiful pistol, Hickok45, you are an excellent shot and a real enjoyment to watch. Thank you.
RUclips shenanigans! Guess I'll take it as a rerun! Still fun hickok!
God bless you Hickok, you are an amazing man. Thank you for all the things you do sir.
That is an amazing piece. I’m getting started with my firearm collection. Starting with black powder pietta 1960 army because i haven’t gotten my firearm permit yet. But from then on I’ll be working my way towards this model!
I watched this one back in july. Had no idea it disappeared. But this is a good one. I love old Revolvers so I will watch it again. :)
Your a smart man love your videos much respect from South Louisiana
The gentleman who presented this video did a really good job.
I thank you, sir.
I really enjoy your content. Thanks for reposting the video.
Awwww man, I've got to watch it again, whatever will I do! 😂
Always a pleasure to have a new video even if it's a repeat!
There was another infamous individual from the days of the Wild West, who was well known for his specialty revolver, although he has been given short shrift by the historians. He was an early organised crime figure named Megalito Luvless, his special-order short barrelled revolver was known as a runtline special. The gun became popular for self defense in later generations, but under a different name - the snub-nose. Maybe the buntline was named after this revolver?
The Buntline was named after the pen name of dime-novelist, Ned Buntline
My brother-in-law and I have quoted Tombstone at every family gathering for over twenty years. Just sent him the link to this. Awesome!
I love the history lessons that we get from your videos. You give just enough to get me interested in the story so I will look into it. I have learned so much because of you. I wish I was working at the Gunshop/range now instead of 22 years ago.i thought I had a great knowledge of firearms. I had enough to be able to appraise firearms for insurance companies. I was the guy that did it for the shop. I would do whole collections and individual firearms. I have seen some very rare firearms when I lived in Colorado. I know you don't want us to believe you so we do look it up. I bet you were many kids favorite teacher. I know you would have been mine. I would sell fishing lures to mist of the staff at my highschool that fished because I had a business in school making fishing equipment for a school class and club DECA, Distributive Education Club of America. I'm sure you have heard of it being a teacher. We would also talk about shooting andy dad and I got a few teachers to go fish a tournament with us in separate boats. My dad went to school with a few of my teachers. It was great times. You make me want to buy a old CVA black powder rifle or pistol kit to assemble and stain myself. You already got me to buy 2 Glocks. Happy Safe Shooting 🇺🇸💪
No man would dare delete the Buntline Special!
@Frogsquatch Yawn..............................
@Frogsquatch too much cool-aid bruh
Just as good the second (or third) time. How can you not enjoy a six gun video? Be well guys.
I've seen it before but its been a really long time and I'll watch it again!
That is one gorgeous Buntline Special Revolver, Hickok45 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Que puntería!!!!!!!!! Como siempre el mejor hickok
I am loving this. So much. Going out to get a Heritage Rough Rider so my kids can have some range time with us. Albeit, .22LR for them. LOL The single action is so much fun.
Hey! hickok45! you make good videos. keep makin' em.
There's an order someone came up with that was written by Earp to Colts factory. It stated he wanted it to have a barrel that came up even to the ejecting rod. Gun to have Gutta Percha grips, meaning hard rubber. So that would put the barrel length at 4-3/4" long. Much easier to get out of the holster. as he said, take your time in a hurry.
That was Bat Masterson
Nice gun. Doc Holiday used a pair of short-barreled matching revolvers. He used a short-barreled revolver mostly for pulling faster.
i did watch it the first time! good video, keep them coming
Love the guns, and I am dying laughing 😅
Fun info in between shots!
I have a Uberti/Cimmaron Ranch Hand .45LC revolver. the quality is really nice. It's very smooth with a nice trigger break too.
Dude you have shown me the path of movie firearms so imma be strapped up at the range with Wyatt earps buntline and blondies colt navy

I have wanted one of these for years!! I would love to shoot one someday. I looked up the price tag. $1,000. To rich for my blood. But beautiful firearm . Love your Videos Hickok45!!
Thanks for reposting, I missed it the first time.
Saw this and will enjoy again!
Hickok 45 that Beautiful gun i love older cowboy gun's i wish I could shoot like you
Greetings from Canada Mr. Hickok
Great video! Thank you for sharing! :)
I realize this video is alittle older. But figured I'd comment all the same. I can completely understand the historical inaccuracies. But just like when the novels were written. It really doesn't matter much at all. The idea of the stories and the feeling they give people can often matter far more. For alot of people Wyatt Earp will always be Mr Russell Slapping a poser in a saloon. At the end of the day that's fine. Its still a very cool gun. Many guns are not practical at all. Some in actual real stories. Have loved your videos since way back. Thank you for what you do.
I very enjoy with your videos, from Iran
TY for sharing
so glad you found this video!! I try find this gun in Red Dead Redemption 2 my aim is so poor but its very difficult!
Just learned how to eject empties. The man is an encyclopedia of gun lore.
A revolver needs a safety like a Harley needs an ashtray.
9:22 All I have 'twas my Grampa's is his WW1 30-06 & his old Colt & screwdriver - just like that one, to loosen that cylinder base pin screw.
When the legend becomes fact, print the legend. As a former (aged six) owner of two Wyatt Earp Lone Star Buntline Specials I'm going to forget everything you said.
Great to see that you found it.
Recently bought the cap and ball version of this with a 7 1/2" barrel. Fit and finish are great. Fires reliably. 1st SAA clone and 1st blackpowder revolver
There is no cap and ball SAA. You talking about the Colt Navy maybe?
@@codyallen2838 yes there is. It's a clone
@@kencoffman7145 There never was a percussion SAA. The mechanism wouldn't work at all. It's always used cartridges, the clones too. There were black powder SAAs early on, but still a cartridge. The open top Colt Navy's, Dragoon, and Walkers were all percussion/cap and ball. There were a ton of percussion colts, but not the SAA.
Now some company may have created one I suppose, but they never came that way originally.
I love your content dude
You SIR ARE A LEGEND GREAT VIDEOS 👍❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Good job keeping all of your content backed up.
I own that buntline special Wyatt Earp model. It's cool. Sights are good, and it's a hell of a lot of fun to shoot. There is record of people(mostly Buffalo hunters and plainsmen) ordering longer than 7 inch barrels. One of the most famous is a 16 inch barrel saa with a saddle holster and an attachable buttstock. That being said the Wyatt Earp myth seems to vome from a "long barrel colt" given as a gift to Wyatt for target shooting. I put "long barrel colt" in quotes because that was what his wife said about a gun he received as a gift that he ended up storing away and never carried. But thats the only record of him owning a "buntline". And it would seem that he was given it sometime after the events at tombstone, as she spoke as if she was there when he received it.
They obviously weren't that popular with gunfighters, but if you wanna hit a target at 100 yards it's not a bad choice. I prefer a 7 inch barrel personally, though I own a modified 4 inch barrel reproduction for fast draw with wax bullets and such. 7 inch just feels right when drawing and shooting.
Hello love your shows
What a beautiful pistol!!
The colt bountlie special was given to Wyatt Earp by writer Ned Bountlie, who wrote the Iyrics of the Buffalo Bill Cody plays.
I hadn't seen it and really enjoyed it.👍
I liked all of your videos
I have a postcard with an old photo of Wyatt Earp and that gun. Very nice long one!

Thank you for reposting it! Regards!
I hate that the video disappeared, however I can watch it again #5.😀😀
I have the Taylor/ Uberti 1873 Cattlemen .45colt & it has a51/2 barrel with color case frame & the gun is so nice, that I won't let my retired law man brother touch it! Or my deputy Sheriff nephew shoot it either! It's one of my prized possessions! I do shoot it periodically! But I am the only one that shoots it! It is accurate for a period revolver! My Ruger Blackhawk with adjustable sights is more accurate! So I shoot the 1873 for personal fun. I hunt & on occasions will let another person shoot the big Ruger! But the Uberti, is just too nice to let others scuff it up! I've had the Ruger for 41 years & recently got it re-blued & got the fancy checkered rose wood grips & haven't let my brothers shoot it! Not after the fiasco my brother caused when I first bought the Ruger; he asked if he could look at it & I said yes, my dad & I stepped out on the porch,he had an electrical problem we were working on & while we were outside... I had told my brother the revolver was loaded....& I thought since he was a State Police officer that he knew about Ruger revolvers; apparently he did not know it was safe to carry all 6 rounds in a Blackhawk with a transfer bar! While dad & I were outside; we heard a loud bang!! My know it all police officer brother... kicked out 5 live rounds & took aim at a photo of a deer on the calendar which was hanging on the side of my mother's new refrigerator! He aimed, cocked the hammer & squeezed the trigger! That was the bang we heard! Dad & I ran inside to see if everyone was OK? My brother just stood there with the revolver in a Weaver stance that he learned in police academy! My mother came into the kitchen & got really upset, because my brother had " killed" her new refrigerator! Then she got mad at me for letting him handle the gun! I told her, that I told my cop brother that the gun was loaded & dad backed me up! But the fun part was, I retrieved the big 250grain lead slug, which had missed all the" vital organ components " of the refrigerator & dad took some " bondo" & spray painted over the hole..and that refrigerator worked for another 15 years!... but I had to promise my mom, that I would never let my police man brother shoot that Ruger again! Mom & dad are now passed on & my brother has his own Ruger Blackhawk in .357 & is semi retired; but his son is a deputy Sheriff & so I don't let him shoot my Blackhawk either!
i missed it the first time becuase im sick and was asleep but im watching it now!
I knew I wasn't crazy I was trying to find this the other day and couldn't
Thanks for the effort to repost this again .
"repost"??
@@hickok45 See below , your comment you made two years ag about this whole thing " disappearing " . Have a good day
came faster to this video than a bullet in the range!
I’m pretending I haven’t seen it . . . and it’s just as enjoyable the second time. And, fwiw, .45 Colt remains a great cartridge (in the same “class” as .45 ACP and .44 Special) for multiple uses.
I almost bought I cimerron 38 special at a gun show a while back. Regret It to this day.. They are so nice
When attacked by 6 people, a 17 round pistol may give you a tactical advantage, but it would be a lot cooler if you can say you won it with a single action six shooter.
In your July posting I pointed out that the buntline was made to be used with a detachable stock. That would classify it as an SBR. My Grandfather was a gunsmith and invented a way to convert a single action into a semi auto and wrote a novel about an old west gunsmith that knew his secret conversion and gave one to an old time lawman. The outlaws would count his shots and rush him when they thought he was empty. To their surprise his gun never ran dry.
I don’t understand, with a cylinder of only six rounds how would his gun never run dry?
@@BrockNessMonster1991 He first removed the cover from the loading port on the right side of the cylinder and made it the ejection port. Then ground a loading port on the left side of the cylinder. He also channeled the escaping gas from between the cylinder and the barrel to the ejection port to eject the spent bullet. As long as you were loading while firing you won't run dry.
@@stevewilliams7852 - interesting idea, never heard/seen anything like it. Was that only a thought he came up with or did your grandpa successfully implement that modification to single action revolvers?
@@BrockNessMonster1991 I'm not gonna say there's no way, because who knows. However, it's a pretty tall tale.
So glad to hear from you in a proper time frame... have been getting five and six year old Videos... have you noted shadow banning on your channel???

Nice hat, Hickok.
I love you Hickok
RUclips can do whatever they want. Surprised they dont give you more grief being a 2a channel
@Phil Melrose 2nd Amendment
I bought one strictly because tombstone is one of my favorite movies. I keep mine in a clear display case under my tv in the basement
Just as good the second time. Thanks Hickok and watch out for those RUclips gremlins
I'll be picking this one up soon!
What’s interesting to me is how good the 45 colt cartridge can be in a “defensive” setting. I mean Skeeter Skelton’s load for 44 mag is a 240 grain at around 1000 FPS, which is very close to a 45 colt with a 255 grain bullet with 6 grains of unique...... makes me wonder
*starts looking for ruger in 45 colt*
Redhawks, Blackhawks and Super Redhawks are for you then. .45 Colt for the first two, .454 Casull for the last which, like .357 will chamber .38 and .44 Magnum will chamber .44 Russian and .44 Special, .454 Casull will chamber .45 Colt and Schofield
Wyatt lives about a mile from my house, I’ve driven by his place countless times in my six decades one of theses days I’ll have to pay my respects.
Classic revolver from the west
The west I would call it “The age of the gunslingers”
Oh
Cimarron old models and Uberti’s in general for that matter used to come with the flush screw... I have a Cimarron 7th cavalry model that came with both. Maybe check the box it should be under the cut out compartment..
I saw one of Wyatt Earp's original revolvers a few weeks ago.
In terms of a long-barreled pistol, I prefer the Artillery Model Luger P08 but the Buntline Special is definitely a nice one.
OMG... I'm wearing the same shirt as Hickok 45 !
i watched this before,,,
n i watched again,,
still a nice video!
👍
Got to see it a second time. Life IS good :)
Beautiful pistol
Great Video, Cool Awesome Video.
Ned Buntline, a "dime novelist" of less literary stature than folks like F. Scott Fitzgerald, bragged to the world that he had given a 12-inch barreled Colt SAA to Wyatt Earp. There is no evidence that Wyatt Earp ever carried it, or even possessed it. I think that some people have written that Colt sold three of them to Mr. Buntline, but where these revolvers wound up nobody knows.
Yeah, you'd almost need to have a "death wish" to carry something as long and awkward as this thing. Unique and interesting, but that's about it.
@@hickok45 Charles Bronson most assuredly didn't carry a Buntline Special while riding the Subway.
You should do an M1-22 citadel. It's an M1 carbine copy in .22 lr.

I love all your weapons especially the one I just watched on Wyatt Earp's Buntline special. My friend of almost 30 years Pete Sherayko plaed the part of Texas Jack Vermillion in that movie. Pete owns a 2400 acre movie ranch in California and you want to see an armory you should see his! It would make most gun shops look like a closet. Keep up the great work! Another 45 fan.
