I was stationed at 8th & I from 1966 to 1968 with Guard Company. Our barracks was in the Navy Yard in building 58. Greatest time of my life!!
Out F'kin Standing . . . Semper Fi ! Started as s kid - Young Marine. Served my country as an Airmen, United States Air Force. Heart, however, will always be a 'Jarhead' ! 🇺🇸
OUT
An admiral show of great discipline of the first order as us Brits have and admire with our great friends in the USA. the best in the world which cannot be surpassed. GREAT STUFF...........
This is the best hour and 30 minutes that I've ever spent on RUclips. I lost myself in the ritual and patriotism. Don't watch unless you have 90 minutes to immerse yourself into the best of America.
In 1990, I had the pleasure and honor to attend the evening Parade at 8th and I. I also met the then Commandant of the Marine Corps, Al Gray, Jr. I was a Navy Chief Warrant Officer at the time.
As a once hard charging US Paratrooper who also worked closely with the US Marines I love my ballsey Marine Brothers!!Semper Fi!!
The U.S.M.C. has got A WAR EXPERIENCE like very, very few countries in the world have.
Here in Chile we feel proud of having been trained and supplied by them. AND `COL. BOGGEY`` IS A LOVELY MARCH......which we know as 'The march of the River Kwai', remembering that classic of cinema starring William Holden and sir Alec Guiness.
HONOR TO THE HEROES!!
Then, now, and forever I thank you for your service. God Bless America
Beautiful I love the Marines.. a generation of Marines in my family.
1969/1972 IN MY LIFE I WILL NEVER FORGET THE MEN I SERVED WITH , GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS ! SEMPER FI !
I'm loving this!! God bless all our military all over the world. Marines......SEMPER FI!!!
Stationed there 1961-62. The parade has changed alot but is still absolutely the best show in town.
God bless our military and protect them from harm. So proud of them.
An beautiful and awesome ceremony. God Bless our great country and our Marines. Thanks for posting.
USMC - Drill is exceptional, regards from the UK.
It's always motivating to watch an "enlisted only" Evening Parade led by NCO's and SNCO's . Ooh Rah!!!
This year (2016, that is) is the first Evening Parade led entirely by NCOs. They did it on Aug 19.
@4vsbs2 Tfw Westpoint Graduations are a thing
Three cheers for the American marines
Had the pleasure of attending when our daughter was a Midshipman at USNA. Terrific evening. Used to be that Congress could get you tickets. This is a no-miss when you're in D.C., but reserve early as it rightfully sells out.
Marine rifle drill is always impressive
"All gave some, some gave all"; Sempre Fidelis.
I went when I was 7 and I still remember that opening beat I tap it on my desk during a test or if I’m really bored or on my drum set
Makes me miss being in the Corps. Thanks for the video and the memories.
Thank you for posting and above all God Bless the USMC without them we wouldn’t have the freedoms we hold dear to us. Semper Fi Hold em High at 8th and I.
***SALUTING*** Remarkable drill team and musicians US Army & Navy Veteran
GOD Bless the services and GOD BLESS US ALL!!
Out of all the videos of the parade on You Tube this is the one that seems professionally recorded. From start to finish there were no errors or interruptions in recording. Thank you. Semper Fi!
Wayne Harvey i was 3rd plt 1/4 man behind the platoon sgt. In '72 and 73. Back in the 70's he was the Lt. ...The cameraman miss timed several scenes, IMHO. He concentrated on solitary figures in the dark, while the plts drilled. Maybe it was bad editing.
One of the best videos featuring the USMC Silent Drill Platoon! Excellent close ups of the platoon members!!
+Alan Garrison Agreed. Outstanding.
+Alan Garrison The US Army Drill team is silent too. So are The Air Force, and Navy Drill teams.....not only Marines. And their all damn great!!
edward o'neill I've seen them and you are correct. I didn't say they weren't. I said this video is one of the best of the Marine Drill Team.
Yes you did!!
The Marines respect the British especially the Royal Marines. Our leaders in 1776 still liked British values but not the crown. That is why we became independent. Semper Fi.
Great band, great US Marine Corps.
I went to this in 2011 and I can still remember the opening drum beat today
I was playing it all the way home from the parade on the shuttle bus when I was 7
Gotta attend this Friday night parade, this summer, 2020'. Live only a few miles away ! 🇺🇸

It’s been YEARS since my time with the CORPS... but I do remember two times I was at the Evening Parade...and it was at “8th and I Street”.
...and ... naturally... the Corps “Silent Drill Team” ,...was outstanding!

The fife player was brilliant, my grandfather played the fife in the band of the West Surrey Regiment, I actually have his instrument.
I love the Corps.
Thanks for sharing💕✌️
I witnessed this in person once, was an amazing experience considering I was a huge Drill team nerd in High School.
Now, THAT is the way the Star Spangled Banner should be played.
To the Marines of Barracks Washington DC, thank you for your service to not only DC, but to the entire country! You are the epitome, of excellence and what an outstanding performance, but I don't understand why people are cheering this is serious business, not a sports event!
Respect from South Korea.
A vert strong service, SEMPER FI !!!

I WAS IN THE MARINE CORPS IN 1972 TO 1976, STATION AT CAMP PENDLETON
We went to this last June on our DC vacation. Sargeant Chesty, the mascot was there too. I asked one of the marines how he got the Sargeant rank, did he do something special. He said, no nothing... he just did..lol. I took a picture with the mascot soldier.

God Bless the Poles. They turned back Islamic expansion in 1683 and later slowed Communist expansion in 1920. The West owes them a debt.

Really wanted to be a marine. Sadly I'm overage now, I can't enlist.
I SALUTE YOU SARGENT MAJOR
No one does it better.
it's on the bucket list...ha
Very very nice beautiful military music but I have a question ; why the Band Leader have fur Great Cap like the British Grenadier Guard ?
That's a military thing many countries wear the bear skin hats.
Serge Dompierre it’s a tradition that military drum majors wear bearskin caps
snappy!
Does anyone know what kinds of guns those are flanking the doors? They look to be 3" Ordnance Rifles, but it is rather hard to tell.
They are M-1 Garand Semi Auto cal 30
what's the title of the march that the Commandant's Own played at 14:37 that accompanied the Adjutant when he walks towards his post?
Black Jack
Does any former or current jarhead know why the blood-stripe isn't placed on the nco's white trousers? Semper Fi Marines'.
At 28:01 it sounded like they were playing "Scotland The Brave".
They are.

As a wheelchair user I got unnecessarily hype when the professor came out.
Every four minute I feel the need to MURRICA for effect

Where did you kiddos get redcoats, let alone a bearskin? Because I know it's not from those British traditions you felt the need to distance yourselves from
