AA is the healer class of war thunder. Nobody wants to play it but everybody needs it. At least if you die, you basically get forced to spawn in one if you have it in your lineup

The biggest advantage that shilka has over it's foreign contemporaries is firing 4 23mm cannons with an inane fire rate is significantly more fun than firing 2 larger calibre cannons.
Want to confuse lead indicator? Use basic physics, maintain the VR speed 0 aka angular speed, maintain a constant curve around stationary spAA so it'll show 0 on Vr since you aren't getting away/closer it looks for the radar as if you were not moving at all
while its another good video, i have to disagree. SPAA should never stay in the spawn, cause the spawns are not the area where your teammates will be attacked by CAS. yes, they shouldnt be in the frontline, but in between the frontline and spawn, to cover (if possible) both sides
You can easily reach most of the map from spawn, hell you can do that with a whirbelwing let alone a shilka, most planes tend to buzz off at the smallest sign of tracers and thats often good enough. Staying in the middle will just get you sniped and insta killed.
The only complaint I’ve had with this is that it handles up-tier horribly. once you bring it out if it’s normal bracket It tends to get sniped by guided bombs/missiles, and has trouble getting in range to attack ATGM helis. A shame too since it’s all you get until 10.7. High tier Russia’s biggest weakness (aside from the 9.7 1-life TURMS swarm). Mediocre at best AA. Then you get the Tunguska and it’s like a ground to air KA-52 At its own BR though… Mmmmmmm.. love the Shilka, handles the jets well and a lot of people still use props, which it just deletes.
Usually you can take shilka to top BR tanks rb and use the shilka as anti helicopters, it is very effective in doing it, because if you know where the helicopter is, you can shoot his ATGM in mid flight before it reaches you(and sometimes nearby allies) due to the amount of guns you have, so shilka is actually in the "secret dukoments archives" is classified as anti missile system as well as anti air..
Ich kenne die ZSU-23-4 in echt, war zur Unterstützung der Bodentruppen gedacht. Wenn man das Gerät gut beherrschte waren Flugzeuge der damaligen Zeit zu 99% vernichtet. Ich war ein Kommandant dieses Gerätes. Auch im Bodenkampf gefürchtet.
The Shilka isn´t the first vehicle you spawn in. It´s the third. 1. BT5 2. Whatever ground pounder you feel comfortable with. We don´t judge here. 3. Shilka to clean out enemy Aircraft
I find this things radar just doesn’t work. The target is coming at you, it certainly shouldn’t be in it’s dead zone. Yet it won’t lock, then when it does, the lead indicator is not right at all
the lead indicator is a accurate velocity vector that includes bullet drop for most games. it IS accurate but only for the sec you look at it. yor bullets take time to reach your target. if the target corrects its course while they are in flight you wont hit your target. simple :) if you want to trust the indicator you need to make sure that the aircraft is either unaware of you or flying in a straight line. even the slightest corrections will make your bullets miss thats why aa guns usually only work in a sphere of arround 2km
Dave initiv yeah I know how they work, I just get the feeling it works better in other vehicles! Maybe it is down to the 30mm vs 23mm difference. I always wait until they’re close to open fire but yeah it just seems a struggle sometimes with the shilka more than any of the other spaa’s
Despite having hundrets of kills with this aa, it is by far the worst of modern radar equiped vehicle in whole game. The radar itself often simply do not work compared to other aa, and even mobility vice, this is not a miracle. On the other hand, in close range, Shilka is pretty effective against anythig flying low.
Stay still and aim carefully.. shoot only when you know you really will have a good chance for hitting. Once you master your aim, you will clear the sky. However if you shoot too early, planes like G-91 will r@pe your 4ss with no problem.

The game is just a game... the more you have grinded the more you get some lucky hit.. it works like that, at least in my observation. The spread is big enough even tho..

Sometimes AP can be better for planes. Atleast for high calibers. A 3.7cm AP shell is basically a brick against planes, deleting it completely

You can’t you just have to unlock the target when you don’t want to be shooting at them or when you turret starts doing 360s randomly.

I try to use the radar lead and find myself hitting nothing, even when using the sight :[ do you have any tips
