The appliques by themselves are so cute, but when you add the FMQ to it, they come to life. What an inspiration! Thanks!
I am so happy that I found your page. I have loved everything that I've seen so far. It has given me motivation and imagination to start my little projects.
I'm so glad you are enjoying my projects! Thank you so much for watching.
Living in Arizona those cactus projects would be a great addition to any flea market or craft show! Thanks again Julia! 🌵
I guess I watched so many of your videos on my TV where I can't (or don't know how 🤪) to leave a comment!
It's so fun to watch your videos again! You're endless creative ideas are SO inspiring!!! 🤗
Thank you for posting all these videos!!! ❤
Brenda 🌼
DEAR Julia! You are freaking BRILLIANT!!! Thank you SOOO much for sharing your Genius ideas. 👏👏👏🥰. Bless you for your spirit of generosity! 😇
Julia you are absolutely awe-inspiring - I can honestly say that your creativity is out of this world. Your videos are so motivating - thank you so much for sharing this xx
Love this. Can't wait to try it. I would add only one more bit of stitching. Adding some ground under the cactus. I never put what I would do on someone's video because this is so cool but I paint and was always taught that things need grounding.
Julia, this has to be one of my favorite sewing projects now! Thanks for all your time and efforts! Enjoyed!
Hi, thank you so much for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed the video- happy sewing. Julia
Beautiful design, Julia. I've missed your videos.

8/14/2020. 94 degrees in Florida. And thinking of fall helps me get through this pandemic. I love this design. Take care. Stay in good health.
Julia, wonderful as always, I love the sun!
I love this technique that you use with the comfort colors sweatshirts. I wanted to let you know that I was watching a video, and I can't remember who it was, but they said that the frixion pens leave a lighter mark on dark fabrics, but if the item has been washed after the pen was applied the residue washes out of the fibers and the lightness doesn't show up.
This was an awsom film, sooo inspirational! As always Julia, thank you!
Now I want to make one. So satisfying to watch this.
Julia what a great project. Simply beautiful!!! TFS!
Thanks Janet!
You are such an amazing person to share your talent. Your garments are beautiful. Thank you so much. 😘
Hi Julia - This turned out so cute. I love the decorative stitch you added at the end. You come up with the best creations.

This is such a cute shirt!
Two of my favorite things, rust color, and cactus! Excellent combination! I must say you are a master using the free motion sewing. I am in awe of this. Be great if you gave a tutorial on free Motion quilting. I want so bad to acquire this skill!!! Great Tutorial Julia!
Thanks so much for watching. I have not done much with quilting. Leah Day is a wonderful RUclipsr who specializes in FMQ. Check out her channel. Julia

Loved it. Beautiful
Hi, thank you so much for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed the video- happy sewing. Julia
Hi Julia! I love this sweatshirt - both the color and the design elements you added. They are absolutely perfect! I bought a pullover knit top from WalMart and want to try my hand at something similar. I don't like long sleeves (even in winter) and definitely will alter the cuffs using this idea. I love your style. I hope you and yours have a lovely Thanksgiving and I can't wait to see what you make next.
Hi Phyllis, Thanks you so much for watching! I love doing sweatshirt transformations and plan on doing more on my channel. Have fun with your project! Happy Thanksgiving to you! Julia
I love this.
Hi, thank you so much for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed the video- happy sewing. Julia
Great project!
Thank you!
Fun! Thanks!
How coincidental that you posted this. I am finally making your llama and was confused about fusing the fabric to the heat and bond. I just came to your channel for another look and saw this done the same way. I had forgotten about the glue. That sun circle has the perfect southwest colours. Cool project! Thanks.
Hi Susan, Others have been confused about why I glue on top of the heat-n-bond adhesive. I believe there is a different product available that is tacky one one side and can be ironed on the other side, but I haven't tried it. The heat-n-bond works well, but you do need to use the glue to keep all the piece in place. Hope you have a chance to try it! Julia
Lloyd my Llama turned out really cute. As I was gluing him, I thought Steam a Seam would have worked for this. And I have some, but never thought to use it. I love your videos.@@stitchesbyjulia
Lloyd's a good name for a Llama:)!
Love it!! And very nice! I’ve watched you do your lamas...wow never thought of doing it on the back of a gene jacket too!! You’ve really jnspired me to do this and thanks again re: the lama and putting it in this vlog to refer back too!! Cause I’d like to see that video again too ! Love how you done the shirt too ( i’ve wondered how to do that with the bands! I was amused/ focused with how you were doing your lamas last time, now going back to re-watch cause i’m curious if you’ve done that to the bands on the other lama project🤔🤔 I learn soo much from you - thanks alot for doing your videos, i really appreciate watching, and learning your projects etc you do !
Hi, thank you so much for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed the video- happy sewing. Julia
Hallo Julia, habe schon gewartet auf dein Video. Es ist wunderbar. Ich versuche ein ähnliches Projekt umzusetzen. Mach weiter so. Danke.
I have just found you and absolutely love your work and creativity! I'm curious as to why you use the glue on the heat and bond. Thanks so much for sharing!
Hi, I use the glue to keep the the stripes of fabric in place. Once the glue dries, I then iron to activate the heat and bond's glue. You can also use a temporary spray glue. Steam a Seam II is another brand of fusible adhesive that already has a tacky surface. It is great but expensive. Hope this helps, Julia
Julia I love your work!! Question - Could you do the altering like you did on this sweatshirt on a Comfort Color long sleeve T-Shirt?
Hi, Yes you can!
I really enjoy your videos. Do you have a video on how to make a vest with blue jean legs and if you do where can I find it. Thanks for your help😉
I don't have a video on making a vest from jeans but it's a great idea! Thanks for watching, Julia
Great project and a video well done! I do have a question about the step with the glue. Are you gluing the fabric on the glue side of the Heat and Bond?
Hi Vicki, Yes I put the glue on the adhesive side of the Heat n Bond. This keeps the little scraps in place. Once the design is covered and the glue has dried, I turn it over, cut it out, and iron to activate the Heat n Bond's adhesive. Hope this makes sense. I believe there is a product that has a tacky side that can be used in place of the heat-n-bond. Thanks for watching, Julia
I can’t wait to make one. I wear size 10, what size sweatshirt should I buy? Thank you.
I wear a size 8 and I can wear both the sm or med. I like the roominess of the Med. I think you could do either a med or large.
Luuuove the yam color, but it’s not available on Amazon 😳
I am having a hard time getting the Yam in also, hope they are available soon.
I've always wanted to do free motion, but is it possible to do it without a quilting foot?
Hi, You do need a quilting foot or a darner foot. They sit above your work so you can freely move the fabric. You should be able to find one that fits your machine. They're reasonable priced. Hope you have a chance to try it! Julia
Where can I get the cactus
Hi, I can send it to your email ( no charge) Send me a quick email at stitchesbyjulia@yahoo.com and I'll reply through it. Thanks for watching, Julia
Where do you get your sweatshirts.
You can buy them on Amazon. Here is a link: amzn.to/49j3HrW
wait, so how does the glue NOT ruin the heatbond?
The white school glue does not ruin the heat-n-bond. I use this technique a lot in my projects.
Great thank you, I will try this on a fun rework piece.

Cute project, but your video is so jumpy it’s hard to watch
