I wish they came with alternate hands bc they honestly look like adult legos. Also wish they all came with a effect part, like Superman with using his heat vision, an alt head or red plastic to add to the eyes
For the $20 price point, the Mcfarlane toys are more than fine. You may not have variety; but there's a bigger data detail to it. I didn't care about last knight on earth, but did like the WW variant. But you are right, we need: Lobo, Doomsday, Black Adam, Shazam, Black Manta, Brainiac, Luthor.
Martian manhunter, Hal Jordan, Comic Style Aquaman, Comic Style Cyborg, Classic Firestorm, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Atom, Batwoman, The Question, Red tornado. In my opinion, we also need those.
These figures are dope. I lost interest in Marvel Legends & have become a huge fan of what Mcfarlane is doing with DC. His figures are bigger, have new body molds, great sculpts with amazing details & are still affordable. Marvel Legends is raising their prices & they're still using body molds from over 5 years ago. While not perfect, Mcfarlane's DC figures are some of the best action figures out
Marvel legends is trash. Hasbro uses cheap plastic. Also hasbro dropped the ball on the black series and gi joe. So of course mcfarlane is better. They give you a figure that's worth $20.
Same thoughts here, I stop buying Legends cause the reissues do not end plus designs are inferior to DC Mcf. Plus base are always the same and Quality of legends in paints and joints suck
There's good and bad for each company. Hasbro been being too cheap, dishing out old figure bucks that were prolly 10+ years old now and upping their price. And there's no paint job. I like their plastic though, just feels good in the hand. As for mcfarlane, the figures look horrendous! Like idk what Todd was thinking, the concept is great! But figure form they all look clunky and ugly, imo. And size is all out of range. I prefer 6in figs, but that's preference, lots of great detail, missing lots of paint job but wayyyy more than hasbro. If they combined Todd's skills of sculpt but utilize hasbro 6in line asthetic, I would be buying out all their figures! Idk how mcfarlane keeps up with new molds every figure, that's insane.
You are absolutely right. This line needs variety. I want to start collecting them but I don’t just want a shelf filled with different Batmen. It’s a shame because they look and feel amazing. I don’t think the line will fail anytime soon but the fans will get tired eventually if they don’t start getting the ball rolling
And keep in mind Todd's making so much batmen because he said keep marvel legends making a lot of repaint of spider man but there suits we actually want Not versions of fucking batman also he said batman the face of dc which is a load of fucking bullshit
We are getting a lot of new characters from McFarlane DC Multiverse in the upcoming waves like Dr. Fate, Etrigan, Hal Jordan, Batman Beyond characters, and even the Snyder Cut and Suicide Squad movie waves. I get your point though. They are milking it by doing a lot of variants and repaints. Before this year ends I hope they would be able to establish their comic-based Justice League line up.
As a beginner to collecting action figures im having alot of fun collecting these ..I like to get the comics of the figures I don't know much about .its kept me busy ..I wouldn't say this is discouraging but rather giving me knowledge to a hobby im new to .
@Richard Alvarado He actually makes valid points. This line has been nothing but Batman figures, repaints, and shitty elseworld characters that no one gives a fuck about.
Hmmm I get that you don't like the McFarlane lineup. But thinking it's gonna fail/ it's failing is just not paying attention lol. For the first time in at least 10 years everyone is actually talking a lot about a DC Toyline and it's a toyline that is front and center in every collecting channel/IG page/podcast. Mattel's DCUC was ok but failed because their variety made it pretty hardcore DC fan-centric, alienating casual collectors (like mysefl at the time), who are the biggest demographic of buyers. Then Mattel gave us Multiverse with a really better distributed variety but with horribly mediocre figures. And DC Collectibles did the figures everybody wanted in a cool way but once they made the Big 7, its lines just slowly died. That happened with New 52, DC Icons and DC Essentials. McFarlane making great figures, concentrating on specific Batman/JL storylines and giving us the classic versions only from time to time is actually proving to be the winning strategy. Since the lines are Batman-centric people actually BUY them while they keep expecting the classic/iconic versions of the other characters. He gives products that people will always buy (Batman shit), while keeping us wanting more (waiting for iconic looks/characters). Todd is a great business guy and he's just proving it with this line and its huge success. It's ok to not like it and to prefer something different. But the numbers, the word of mouth, the popularity... they are all there proving this is the better decision market-wise.
@@souldrum86 it does benefit the collector in the way that this line will probably not die too early. I loved DC Direct Icons and Essentials and Greg Capullo design series... but I could never get into them because since the second wave you knew they would die quickly. Why would I commit to a line if it will just last a year or two? We need a toyline that is profitable if we want a continued Collection like Marvel Legends or Star Wars. If a line only does what benefits the collector or fan then it just won't last. Don't get me wrong, the collector should be their priority since that's his faithful buyer, but not at the expense of the casual buyer that keeps the line profitable and alive.
@@AntiLifePower but to have so many Batman related characters isn't the right move in my opinion. There's plenty of lines that start out with variety that have lasted decades. Those DC direct lines you mentioned made keys mistakes that upset buyers right out the gate. It would be one thing if hasbro started out making all spider man or wolverine figures the first 7 or 8 waves. But that's not how it works. I love Batman and I don't even mind if he's apart of every wave. But to have multiple of him on top of characters that only center around Batman. That has already made collectors stop supporting the line. If collectors can shell out $80 plus dollars for Mezco DC characters, in which they pretty much have the whole Justice league to choose from. Then collectors would be more than happy to do the same with Mcfarlane figures because he does make good/great figures. Also a good way to tell collectors want the variety. I see more hype/excitement when he actually shows an upcoming figure that is not Batman.
@@souldrum86 I do want Todd to make more figures other than Batman and related. Especially with the last leaks I think it's just too freaking much Batman. However my point with my previous comments is that so far it has worked for McFarlane, so it's not like this line is doing something wrong market-wise and we do need it to do good in that aspect. Marvel Legends is the big reference here but don't forget that the line basically died twice even though it was a collector/fan favorite. The fans loved it but it ended up killing Toy Biz. Then Hasbro tried to save it but it then quickly died and ended up in a 3-year hiatus. Then it came back again and if it hadn't been because of the MCU I think it would have died again. It was with the MCU that they finally had a lasting formula of popular figures (either because they are fanfavorites or because they are part of a new movie) + b or c listers that hardcore fans want. Todd has "cracked the code" market-wise without an stable DCEU. And you can't compare this line to Mezco or Mafex or Figuarts. Those are figures with an specific market that is way different to this one. They can make specific high quality figures because they have a select market that is willing to pay a lot more for a single figure.
You brought up some good points I can agree with. 1. Yes, the character selection based on storylines seems to be mandated by DC themselves, I've thought the same too. 2. Yes, the DC equivalent of Marvel Legends would be ideal. However, I don't agree with the scale being different, that was honestly the dealbreaker for me when this line came out. Personally, I like building crossovers with my figures and scale is very important to me. You don't care about that, that's fine, agree to disagree. Also, I personally don't like the stylization of some figures, like John Stewart's suit having all that extra detail. I like the simple, classic Pre-New 52 spandex look. But yeah, like you said at the end, just do DCUC again but with better articulation. That's all I wanted.
The 7” scale is a dealbreaker for me too. I already have Marvel Legends and Black Series so I won’t change scale and there’s no room for a new scale on my shelf.
I own almost the entire dc universe classics collection (wave 1 - wave - 20) and personally this will always be the definitive dc comics toy line. Because of the number of characters they made and how deep they were. However, I believe that macfarlane has increased the quality of the figures and I, who have all of the above, am delighted with the new they are releasing and not repeating everything that mattel has done in all its years. But hey is my opinion. For example, batman death metal with his motorcycle is AWESOME
I have only 2 major problems with the line: 1. We're not seeing much variety, it's like 80% Batman figures 2. None of them are classic based, it's all modern comic costumes. While I enjoy the modern comic costume designs, I also enjoy the classic designs too.
They wasted themselves they could’ve been one of the most successful toy lines but they completely wasted it buy giving us things nobody want nor asked for. We still don’t even have a good classic batman or wonder woman
@@Anonymous-ek2rhnah u think theyre fogures are greT but the designs are bad and if they did regular characters they would sell even better and more poeple would buy it
This line is awesome, it got my son into collecting.. I do agree with the variants, they are just a cheap marketing ploy. However the Red Hood, Thomas Wayne and many others are sweet and look fantastic on the shelf 👌 it's not perfect, but it's definitely not trash. I can appreciate all DC from comics to animation, gaming and film. I look forward to what comes next 😌
I hope that by end of this year we get a full comic justice league, and I have a feeling that their last year we will get more variety, and hopefully they get renewed on the licensing with more variety, at least I hope
Mcfarlane is a better kind than Marvel Legends, just give it time for them to sculpt new figures. Mcfarlane is better in quality control. Not a lot of this paint going to where this other paint is at.
I like the figures but theres no accessories or variety of characters. The thing I love is they don't really reuse sculpts. accessory packs would definitely benefit the figures. They have been around for about a half a year now so they definitely do have time to improve. I really do hope Mcfarlane learns from the criticism.
Like Scdude1999 says about the LEGO DC superheroes line. It almost kinda feels like batmite is on charge of DC, everything have to be or include Batman
I also hate the stupid variants. And that Batman from the Darkfather wave literally got a guitar and they call it a variant? Such a cheap wasted cash grab
I'm getting back into DC Universe Classics myself. I just recently bought the Mattel Multiverse Dark Knight Returns Superman figure (the one that uses the Masters of the Universe Classics body buck) off of EBay. I'm generally pretty disappointed with what McFarlane is doing with the DC license so far, as well. Now, if they end up making a classic Darkseid, a classic Doomsday, and/or Lobo that aren't too terribly oversized, I might consider getting them from McFarlane Toys. The armored Batman and Superman from the first wave, Action Comics #1,000 Superman, Thomas Wayne Batman, and animated Cyborg (maybe The Batman Who Laughs) are the only ones I'm really interested in at the moment. I don't give a fuck about the rest of them.
@@marcocortez6154 Same here. I also think that a McFarlane Etrigon would be really badass. I'm thinking about maybe doing a mix of different lines for my DC characters (some from McFarlane Toys, some from DC Icons, a few Essentials here and there, a couple of customs thrown in there for good measure, some Mattel DCUC/Multiverse stuff, etc.).
Great vid, esp your thoughts on the repaints and the endless Batmans. I’d like to see more classic figures too, esp. classic Jack Kirby Fourth World. The McFarlane “knight” Demon could’ve waited until the classic Etrigan was issued. Personally I have bought the Jokerized Supes and Nightwing; Robin King just because they are different and look cool. (Never read the storylines). McFarlane figs cost a fortune and, because of this, I can’t imagine anyone collecting all-or most- of them.
What also sucks is that you have to by unmasked figures separate rather than have alternative heads. The movie figure head sculpts are awful. I also hear the new Batman 66 figures are 6 inch so can’t even display with the 7inch one. Plus every wave is ether Batman, Superman or Wonder Women
Search for customs on the movie figures, they're actually great in sculpting, I saw a video about the Aquaman figure that after the repaint it looked a lot like Jason Momoa, the problem with most of the figures are the painting
I agree with some of these points, but all it really boil down to are sales and at the end of the day these are toys. Batman sells the most cause he's an iconic figure and one of the most recognizable of the rosters even for non collectors. Yeah it would be great to get other figures of characters but sculpts cost a lot and these are detail and one of the reasons i dont like the marvel legends line is the lack of sculpt work. So it makes sense with different head sculpt for reissues to recuperate and use those funds for more figs. I don't think this line will fail and plus if you check the rest of the year the line is expanding to other characters. Personally i think for this line to be only 2 years old its pretty impressive with all these sculpts and characters even though theres a shit load of batman, but that just let todd work out the kinks for future molds with better articulation i think.
I understand why you aren’t satisfied bro. I liked the variety (relatively) that we got in the first wave. I’m guessing they’re trying to get everyone hooked by selling Batman figure that you just can’t miss (Beyond, Thomas Wayne, Year Two, HellBat, BMWL) and it seems to honestly be working for them. Nearly no one seems to be missing the Bat figures, regardless if they are good. I’m guessing down the line they’ll get more variety
If you don't like the figures then don't buy them, the reason they're probably sticking to more recent stories and and media is because those have not received any figures yet, the DC Universe Classics and DC Direct Line already have massive backlogs of classic characters, those weren't around when the Dark knights metal stuff came out though, or the Snyder cut and Suicide Squad movies, this new line is releasing figures for the current stuff going on while trickling some variety into the line, and we are getting more and more variety every quarter, with some of the newest figures coming out all being classic figures we have not gotten yet, such as Lobo, reverse flash, and Superboy Prime. Just because they're not catering to the exact figures you want, that doesn't mean the line is bad.
Я согласен с тобой лишь в том, что очень мало персонажей. В остальном - цена/качество супер. По факту, лучше даже Легенд многих. Надеюсь, Тодд будет улучшать позиции в ассортименте. Верим и надеемся!
DC Universe Classics was the greatest DC Toyline EVER! The problem with Mattel is that once they lost The Four Horseman, they’re figures started to become very hit & miss. Some were good but the overall consistency of being a great toy line was lost. Dave Vonner from marvel legends at Hasbro came to Mattel & pitched them a new type of DC figure in the form of a Batman figure as the prototype but by then the damage was done & it was game over. The license went to McFarlane & now here we are. It’s hard to find them but in the various lines of Mattel DC figures from 2008-2019 you can find good-great figures of just about ever DC character imaginable. If you have the money, I would still collect the Mattel figures.
The only figures that is worth a shit in his multiverse line up is Batman Arkham Asylum Batman & Joker and the Snyder Cut JL Batman, Black & Traditional color Superman, Stepphenwolf, Darkseid with his armor (Which haven't came out yet)
I agree, but it's ok. If everyone like every mcfarlane release, I'd run out of stocks from scalpers and collectors who buy three toys/release. So let them buy the variants, the gold versions, the weird themes, I concentrate on the few that matters
Mmm... I don't know. The line doesn't suck, but it does suck that there's too little variety. And now we're getting repaints and variants that yes, nobody cares. But I do like that we're getting interesting versions because there are a lot of classic versions here and there with other lines. And at the same time, while I love DC and actually prefer it over Marvel, DC is not very popular, sadly. Don't know if having very dark characters would work for the line (though I'd love it) in terms of proffit. There are many things we ignore about the toy business and I supouse it's easy for us to hate or criticise, but at the same time it's necesary to do so, so the company maybe will recieve feedback and make changes at some point.
Just got my year 2 Batman and his ankle and left arm came off don’t get me wrong I love what’s he’s doing but it’s just becoming more of a problem if this keeps up I hope someone else takes over The DC multi-universe figuer line
As a transformers collector, Last year I got in a faze after watching the remake of the justice league movie and got a few dc figures from mcfarlane some of them I got are good and some are a disappointment because the ankle joints are not even out one bends more than the one one or the legs are uneven I don’t know if anybody else has that issue the only ones, after that all of that I lost interest in getting them, I wish mcfarlane made more doom eternal ones
It is not like Mcfarlane has DC license which will expire by the end of 2021 and idiots need to collect before the apocalypse or armageddon. Whole video is full of abusive language. Whoever the video creater is, he is obviously not a DC fan, just a normal collector without indepth knowledge of DC Comics and Characters. just wait for few years and we will have all the characters. We are slowly getting the rebirth figures so just need to be patient. No. of dislikes on the video clearly tell what people feel for the line. Mcfarlane is doing a decent job and is putting a lot of effort. Just see the Batcycle design, never seen such a beauty. Appreciate what you are getting because at such a low price these are great designs and be patient for new characters.
What storylines should I have read? Crisis on Infinite Earths? So that I know how the multiverse became one universe? Zero Hour? So that I know what happens to Hal Jordan after he turns evil? Infinite Crisis? So that I can learn that the earth 2 Superman, Lois, & Powergirl survived the COIE? Final Crisis? So I can Learn about the monitors & how Barry Allen returned after being “dead” for 20 years of comics. Maybe Flashpoint? Discover that Barry Allen changed the course of the entire Multiverse to try & save his mom. The Batman Court of Owls arc? Trinity War? Forever Evil? Convergence? The Entire Rebirth event? I should probably read Doomsday Clock so I can learn that it was Dr. Manhattan from watchmen who actually changed the multiverse not (Barry Allen) by ensuring the JSA never existed by causing Alan Scott to die before he could become the golden age green lantern. Maybe I should dip my toe into the DCAU & learn about how Hawgirl & John Stewart eventually have a kid. Or that Terry Mcguiness is actually Bruce Wayne’s Biological son. I should probably try some alternate reality stories too like The Dark Knight Returns & Superman Red Son. After that maybe I should try watching some of the DCAMU, Maybe play some of the Batman Arkham Games. Oh, and I should probably watch every DCEU movie so that I can learn that even though in justice league Mera says her parents were killed when she was young but in Aquaman her dad is alive & in the movie played by Dolph Lundgren. Y’know, since I don’t have an in-depth knowledge of DC
Can't believe we're 2 years into the line and all we've really got for a classic Justice League setup is Superman, Batman, Flash and Green Lantern. It is actually staggering that we've got 500 Batman variants that no one cares about but we've yet to get a single Aquaman or Shazam, and no classic Wonder Woman and Cyborg
Thank you! Just saw this video a year late but you said everything I've been thinking for two years now. I like Batman but for crying out loud this is supposed to be a DC line, not a Batman line. If that's what McFarlane wants to do, he should just call it the Batman line. Also, it kills me how many people out there are defending this shit.
A little over a year and there is a huge variety, Batman is a seller so they are producing a lot of Batman, there are a few Superman varieties, WW we need more variety. The future releases have a lot of new characters and some re-releases. They are sold out most places except Joker and a few other characters.
I'm glad to see someone else thinks the same . They started off good but eventually became crap. McFarlane started putting out reject figures and limiting the good characters . Plus the limited edition stuff is really great but gone fast and put on the black market for big bucks . They have always had a production issue and it's gotten worse . With the 89 Batman batmobile it was a big old FU to the fans . People waiting 6 to 10 months or more for the 89 batmobile and the keaton figures is ridiculous. It's hard to find a good toy line for a good price right now .
I hate that Mcfarlane focuses mostly on Batman. It's ridiculous!!! I don't mind some of the figures. But the variety is awful. Don't get why he's not doing a lot of characters.
I never liked McFarlane toys and I was filled with doubt when they got the rights for DC toys. This line has been a pleasant surprise for me and I’m actually quite a big fan of the line. I’m sorry you aren’t a big fan of the line
I agree with some of the stuff you said. Way too much focus on Batman. Don't really see the point of the gold versions. Also it's difficult to get some of the figures to stand on their own.
@@tallguy7093 Really? I find the stands very useful. I think they work well. Honestly though, I only have the need to use them on one figure. Hellbat. I got it used on eBay and the leg joints were a bit loose so I gave him one just to be sure. He can still stand on his own regardless though. I actually think the figures stand just fine on their own.
@@gmon78 Not the case with some of mines. However the larger ones stand well without a stand. But figures like Blashpoint Batman and Deathstroke it's a bit of a headache.
Bro, I agree with everything you said about these figures. I personally have even more gripes about them than what you stated. I would rather spend the extra money on figures from Mafex, S.h.figuarts, Kaiyodo, or mezco to get my D.C. figures. I have a few mcfarlanes, but I just have them until one of these other companies I mentioned makes a superior figure of these characters. The import figures are on the pricey side, so I get why so many people buy McFarlane figures.
Honestly I didn't know about it until I read this comment. It looks ok, I think Todd's line does the movie figures pretty well actually and just going off of the one image I was able to find it may even be able to fill in as a comic book king shark. Now, due to it being a build a figure, I probably won't get it. I rarely find a wave of any line where I like all the figures enough to buy them all, let alone McFarlane's DC Multiverse line. There's almost 60 figures in this line now and I've purchased a total of 13 of them.
@@thechadnerd8562 good afternoon, on Reddit you will find a leaked image showing king shark being released in the BAF WAVE and individually in a gold label thingy machingy ,I never bought a McFarland figures or DC DIRECT .My only DC figure was a Batman returns from I believe 2006 man I hate how I missed out ,hopefully the gold label isn’t some fucked up version of king shark that would blow ,thanks for responding love the content can’t wait till you reach 1k
All though i love dc but i agree with some of your opinion, i bought some of dc multiverse figure and All of those figure have great quality in it, the problem is, there are very few characters that are made into figures, and mcfarlane continues to provide other versions of the characters that have been made into action figure
That I understand. Marvel Legends does this all the time & DC Universe Classics did it back in the day. That helps the line. My problem is comic book character variety.
In the same way, it is sad, but, DC's current comics are not the same as before and well it is not surprising that they make many versions of Batman, since DC has gone that way for several years and is current
I just want a Arkham origins batman and a batman noel figure if they do make them I would buy more of them I don't want his dumb design figure they made wrong even the box looks better
I loved Neca before hasbro improved their legends but both companies sucks you have to pay the scalpers most of the time at least Mcfarlane improved their articulations, keeping price decent and..... they are always on the shelves for box price👏
I love the line , but just hate that some of there figures their parts fall off easily smh. Plus they need more classic charecters in there line waiting for them to take out green arrow , black canary , huntress and the question. But gets boring when they keep taking out varians of the same DC comic characters..
I only buy very specific figures from McFarlane. I'm not a huge fan of how a lot of the figures look and I collect mainly 6 inch scale not 7 inch so...
Variants still cost money. Not as much as a new figure but still some. How long before major retailers begin to realize that the majority of these figures they buy from McFarlane are just sitting on their pegs endlessly. Once they realize this they will start to stock less & less of the line. That’s just smart business, don’t stock what isn’t selling. I can see this line becoming pre-order only.
@@thechadnerd8562 I mean, it has been this way for most of the company’s 25-year run. So… But in concept, I totally agree. Only reason to grab a repaint is if you missed the mold’s original release. Hasbro is even worse: they release the alternate/inferior paint job FIRST, then the proper/superior version later. This way they incentivize double purchases. They do it in Transformers especially.
I may disagree with you on the MOTU Origin line, but you are spot on with this line. I’m so sick of the paint apps and lack of non-Batman figures. Great price point, bad variety
DC Multiverse has improved a lot since I made this video. At this point their only problem is maintaining a consistent scale. Some characters are turning out too big in figure form.
Ha ha ha.....We already had a Marvel Legends style....it was called DC Universe Classics.... Beautiful line I have the complete collection....twice.....Sorry to tell you but people are definitely buying the DC Multiverse line ... Even on the secondary market.... So it's not ending anytime soon... All the characters you asked for.... we already have in the DCUC line..... I'm having fun with these new characters..new sculpts and bright future.... Everyone does repaints... You basically have to... It's a business.... Batman will always sell.... I have tons of Knightfall Banes....Was kinda happy to have a different version of him... I bought two of the Last Knight on Earth Banes.... Best part is.... Who gives a shit ..... don't buy em.....👍💀
Yeah I know people are buying them, still not happy about it. There’s still a few of them I want like Azrael, John Stewart, and Bizarro but like you said DCUC is the thing for me so that’s what I’m focusing on.
They were awesome at first now quality control is an issue..I've gotten figs with 2 of the same foot or the head is mashed or the paint is crooked..the animated figures look dumb and now they are releasing the unpainted "artist proof" figures that nobody asked for and pissed everyone off
I don't think the line is gonna fail thats to far fetched but I do agree that there is to many variations i would like to see more than just batman but they are good batman figures and the quality is better than marvel legends so I personally think they are doing fine as long as the keep providing some flash and so other figures im good
To be honest I would agree. I just bought the Damian Wayne Robin & John Stewart Green Lantern. The figures themselves are high quality, just too Batman heavy & full of bullshit variants.
@@thechadnerd8562 yea but I did notice on the leaks that there is more batman but in there is a new etrigan , hal Jordan, the death metal king Shazam which i don't know much about but his design looks really good, but the batman figures im not that excited for they are form the 1996 show I don't how I feel about don't get me wrong I enjoy the TV series I just don't want them in terms of figure I just want a really comic accurate batman kinda like the Flashpoint Thomas Wayne batman
Yeah it’s gotten better. Since I posted this I think we’ve either gotten or at least had revealed to us Doctor Fate, Etrigan, 3 jokers Batman, 3 Jokers Batgirl, Lex Luthor, Reverse Flash, Superboy Prime, Lobo, Swamp Thing, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Zod, and Solar Suit Superman. If we just get a normal comic Wonder Woman now I’ll honestly be fine with the line. Everything else I be more patient for.
Homeboy here needs to up his knowledge on DC in general. Batman is DC/WB’s bread maker. Since Burton’s Batman there has been always a focus on Batman because DC lines have failed when the focus is not Batman. Why do you think that media has for the most part been focused on Batman for the last 30+ years.
I love this line its just amazing sure its more batman then i would like but i am really tempted to to get batman beyond figure it looks sick, and this coming from a marvel fanboy, i also just got batman 1000 figure and it's so cool looking. In a perfect world i would like a hal Jordan, or A flash, hell even a catwoman figure, also more superman figure would be nice, i also think they need more joker figures. Not the batman who laughs no the actual joker figure maybe from white knight batma.
I love the line and i collect them but i agree on the too much variants why no Wonder Woman comic books rebirth style??? So missing characters are not there... Mr Freeze ,Shazam Comics Green Arrow !?? Only one Joker comic books accurate was made (except for White Knight.)
and we STILL, TWO YEARS LATER, have no red tornado, mr miracle, orion, hawkgirl, killowag or any other lanter like baz/gardner, comic darkseid, blackl canary, AND STILL NO COMIC BOOK WW sadly the line has far from failed. hopefully the money makes them better (yeah right). the best figure they've done is etrigan also why do they feel so weirdly rubbery to me? i hate legends but legends look and feel way better than these rubber things. and mcfarlanes are more detailed and still look worse somehow
I think there’s a lot of figures that McFarlane gets FORCED to make. Any time there’s a movie there have to be figures to tie into the release. When White Knight and Dark Nights Metal/Death-Metal we’re going strong in the comics, we got a lot of those figures. When the line functions this way there are only so many slots for figures that we want or that Todd wants.
Dude thank you 🙌oh my God I swear every single figure from McFarland has been Batman related likes Jesus Christ give us something else besides Batman. I picked up bizarro and green lantern and soon as it hit the stores but fuuuuuuuc I wish they gave us more Variety I’m still crossing my fingers and hoping McFarlane releases swamp thing or the demon
I agree with you mostly, I say for selection of characters give us DC Universe but for fit and finish of the figures follow the line of DC Icons , keep ‘em 7 inches but keep that fit and finish.
Agreed DC Collectibles was better while. McFarlane DC Multiverse line has been so bad and putting out figures no one asked for and as a huge DC fan that is disappointing to say they least. We need a lot of the core DC Comics characters not a Batman figure every wave we get. Also we need more DC Films both current and classic and DCTV Figures from both the classic and current shows. McFarlane DC Multiverse figures have been not a good line in my view few cool figures but not enough variety up to this point.
I agree it needs work but I love Todd I enjoy the toys and I am going to give him more time before I jump the gun and say it sucks but I do really like the figures that I have
I wish they came with alternate hands bc they honestly look like adult legos. Also wish they all came with a effect part, like Superman with using his heat vision, an alt head or red plastic to add to the eyes
Dont forget better porportions and sculp
For the $20 price point, the Mcfarlane toys are more than fine. You may not have variety; but there's a bigger data detail to it. I didn't care about last knight on earth, but did like the WW variant.

Thank you for that laugh
Besides those golden stuff, the line has been doing fine
The gold does suck and i dont like the proportions of the figs, its weird
I think there fine but ya I don’t know why you would by the gold ones
Yeah. This video is trash tbh
No McFarland toys dc figures are not even close to being better than hasbros marvel legends
Ikr
You are absolutely right. This line needs variety. I want to start collecting them but I don’t just want a shelf filled with different Batmen. It’s a shame because they look and feel amazing. I don’t think the line will fail anytime soon but the fans will get tired eventually if they don’t start getting the ball rolling
My thoughts exactly.
And keep in mind Todd's making so much batmen because he said keep marvel legends making a lot of repaint of spider man but there suits we actually want
Not versions of fucking batman also he said batman the face of dc which is a load of fucking bullshit
Well, a couple years on and he's still mostly making Batman. At least there's a few other characters now though.
I’m hoping that doctor fate at least comes with accessories and different hands. It would be a huge letdown if it just came with the stand.
Wait! Doctor Fate is coming out? When? If this is true then it’s a must have for me lol. Doctor Fate is one of my favorite characters

Check your audio settings? Works ok on my end.
But that doesn't benefit the collector. Nor does it a DC fan. Unless you're crazy about Batman and only Batman.
Dude if you don't like them don't buy them stop complaining like a little girl
No sh*t smart one if you dont like it dont buy it we got a freaking genius over here damn
I have only 2 major problems with the line:
1. We're not seeing much variety, it's like 80% Batman figures
2. None of them are classic based, it's all modern comic costumes. While I enjoy the modern comic costume designs, I also enjoy the classic designs too.
Well Todd is a big Batman fan. So we’re all in his hands
Well it just started so…
The three jokers line is awesome

At $20 a pop, they're fine. Too much Batman, but excellent value.
Yeah just they lack accessories. For example the new dr fate has no accessories at all
I hope that by end of this year we get a full comic justice league, and I have a feeling that their last year we will get more variety, and hopefully they get renewed on the licensing with more variety, at least I hope
100% especially how strong Legends have become in the last few years a DC counter-part is what 90% of collectors probably are hoping for.
Mcfarlane is a better kind than Marvel Legends, just give it time for them to sculpt new figures. Mcfarlane is better in quality control. Not a lot of this paint going to where this other paint is at.
No way man marvel legends is better than dc multiverse
@@gregtheradical in terms of variety, MLs are better along w accessories
I like the figures but theres no accessories or variety of characters. The thing I love is they don't really reuse sculpts. accessory packs would definitely benefit the figures. They have been around for about a half a year now so they definitely do have time to improve. I really do hope Mcfarlane learns from the criticism.
Like Scdude1999 says about the LEGO DC superheroes line.
It almost kinda feels like batmite is on charge of DC, everything have to be or include Batman
More relevant hands for each figure and not gun trigger hands for characters like dr fate ,superman ,flash
🤞🌝 here’s hoping they make a classic doomsday.
Same here, I've been getting a lot of Batmen and picked up nearly all of the Green Lanterns and Sinestro.
Stop talking trash McFarlane is way better quality than Legends or DCUC for the same price if you want a remake of DCUC take the custom way....
I think he wants more variety. The quality is great but there are A LOT of Batmen.
@@batmanwholaughs3462 Agree
Nah most of his points are valid. I wouldnt say the toy line sucks but just needs much more improvement
Верим и надеемся!
what do you think about mattel Dc figures
There needs to be a follow-up video about those damn side-eyes!
My feelings exactly, & yeah some of them are awesome! Just saw the reveal of the new Dr. Fate & I’m really happy about it.
I think marvel is more popular because people only watch the movies and the dceu movies aren’t very good

We’ve gotten Aquaman & Martian Manhunter
I like DCUC and multiverse in the end mainly because their 6 inch and some actually said adult collector wich made it ten times special

At least he's doing slightly different characters now, but overall I'm saving money.
A little over a year and there is a huge variety, Batman is a seller so they are producing a lot of Batman, there are a few Superman varieties, WW we need more variety. The future releases have a lot of new characters and some re-releases. They are sold out most places except Joker and a few other characters.
You’re right there’s a huge variety of batmans to choose from .

All of them are mostly the same molds from his other figures and are just repainted and just have some changes in the molds.
That I understand. Marvel Legends does this all the time & DC Universe Classics did it back in the day. That helps the line. My problem is comic book character variety.
Hell bat and the Azrael batman were the only good batman figures they made
In the same way, it is sad, but, DC's current comics are not the same as before and well it is not surprising that they make many versions of Batman, since DC has gone that way for several years and is current
While I do agree with the line being batman centric, everything seems personal preference. if it were me, I would incorporate other heroes/villain's.
I just want a Arkham origins batman and a batman noel figure if they do make them I would buy more of them I don't want his dumb design figure they made wrong even the box looks better

Dude, the variants are how McFarlane pays for all that sculpting and paint. It’s called amortization.
So…
But in concept, I totally agree.

Yeah I know people are buying them, still not happy about it. There’s still a few of them I want like Azrael, John Stewart, and Bizarro but like you said DCUC is the thing for me so that’s what I’m focusing on.
@@thechadnerd8562 dude the bizarro is gnarly pick it up if you can 🙌
Plus where is Solomon Grundy he should be in the multiverse line already wtf
I know Damian is a robin but he's the only relevant robin figure we need more like Tim Drake and Jason Todd
They even got his cape wrong
They were awesome at first now quality control is an issue..I've gotten figs with 2 of the same foot or the head is mashed or the paint is crooked..the animated figures look dumb and now they are releasing the unpainted "artist proof" figures that nobody asked for and pissed everyone off
So the DC Direct Designer Series turned out be crappy broken sculpts....
11:20 That superman is from Batman and Superman comics the thing is that comic had to do with dark Knights metal
@@aarontorres8614 what leak was this, please share.
@@thechadnerd8562 i saw it on Instagram they are a list of upcoming dc and spawn figures coming this year were u not aware?
Also there is an upcoming Rebirth Superman and Classic Armored Azrael.
Lowkey agree. we need the full justice league roster not some other universe batman that not all people know about
100%
Dude there's so many figs out now since you've posted this......I have over 50 mcfarlane figs. Theyre all dope
Much agreed, the figures are kinda trash. The left legs on some of the figures even brake off. And the Bane BAF assembly is atrocious
The upcoming armored batman looks like shit even the other upcoming ones are trash also WHERE IS SPEEDY AND KID FLASH AND A REGULAR ROBIN WTF
I love the line and i collect them but i agree on the too much variants why no Wonder Woman comic books rebirth style??? So missing characters are not there... Mr Freeze ,Shazam Comics Green Arrow !?? Only one Joker comic books accurate was made (except for White Knight.)
and we STILL, TWO YEARS LATER, have no red tornado, mr miracle, orion, hawkgirl, killowag or any other lanter like baz/gardner, comic darkseid, blackl canary, AND STILL NO COMIC BOOK WW
sadly the line has far from failed. hopefully the money makes them better (yeah right). the best figure they've done is etrigan
also why do they feel so weirdly rubbery to me? i hate legends but legends look and feel way better than these rubber things. and mcfarlanes are more detailed and still look worse somehow
I think there’s a lot of figures that McFarlane gets FORCED to make. Any time there’s a movie there have to be figures to tie into the release. When White Knight and Dark Nights Metal/Death-Metal we’re going strong in the comics, we got a lot of those figures. When the line functions this way there are only so many slots for figures that we want or that Todd wants.
aqui no brasil é 300 reais uma simples peça dessa marca....
triste
Dude thank you 🙌oh my God I swear every single figure from McFarland has been Batman related likes Jesus Christ give us something else besides Batman. I picked up bizarro and green lantern and soon as it hit the stores but fuuuuuuuc I wish they gave us more Variety I’m still crossing my fingers and hoping McFarlane releases swamp thing or the demon
The Demon is coming!
Why are there so many dislikes this is actually a good video with valid points :P
Thanks! I appreciate the support!
Also whenever he makes his figures they aren't Accurate he always changes something up and it doesn't look that good
I can agree with you but in my opinion the line is still pretty good
i hope you feel different now we are/ will be getting more characters that aren't batman
Check my videos on my channel page
McFarlane Hater
Go buy some more gold Batmen.
Personally I don’t like these figures it’s so much Batman and so many repaints I only lookout for new characters
I agree with you mostly, I say for selection of characters give us DC Universe but for fit and finish of the figures follow the line of DC Icons , keep ‘em 7 inches but keep that fit and finish.
We have a devastator ( Batman turned into doomsday) but not the actual doomsday
Agreed DC Collectibles was better while. McFarlane DC Multiverse line has been so bad and putting out figures no one asked for and as a huge DC fan that is disappointing to say they least. We need a lot of the core DC Comics characters not a Batman figure every wave we get. Also we need more DC Films both current and classic and DCTV Figures from both the classic and current shows. McFarlane DC Multiverse figures have been not a good line in my view few cool figures but not enough variety up to this point.
I like McFarlane figures but I completely agree, waaay too many Batman figures. Great video!
I agree it needs work but I love Todd I enjoy the toys and I am going to give him more time before I jump the gun and say it sucks but I do really like the figures that I have
A Flash that doesn’t have articulation barley to 90 degrees. Actually all the McFarlane toys lack leg articulation. 🤦♂️
So much salt 🤣
I agree I like them but way too many Batmans; I get it, he’s the most popular but there’s too many, all the last build a figures have been batmen
