    Did the 700r4 driveshaft work??

    • @LonniesGarage
      @LonniesGarage  4 года назад

      I had a drive shaft cut down and balanced for this swap and the 4x4 swap I'm currently building. 4" aluminum drive shaft

    Good call on the line fittings. Should run cool all day with that 454 rad in it. I got an all aluminum race radiator in my Jeep, in the winter time I'm lucky to get cool air out the heater, LOL. Plus I had to make the trans cooler because my radiator was for a Bronco with a manual trans. Works OK I guess, well, never had a problem with trans, the lines are a different story, you know, "Retighten your hose clamps" lol.

    Got a question I have an 84 c10 stepside im doing a swap in my donor vehicle is a 03 Yukon xl if I were to use the Tejas steel mounts does The driveshaft length change and if it does what’s the new length

    • @swampjoe1985
      @swampjoe1985 5 лет назад

      I'm in the same shoes with same donor. You will have to physically measure your drive shaft with motor and trans sitting in place. My adapters are from Tejas as well and they are a different design than his. Like a gen 2 or something. I bought mine about the time you posted this and am curious if yours are the adapters like his or are the bolt on replacement clamshell like mine?

      I have a 2984 c10 pickup and have a light weight green wire and don't know where it goes? It's not a hefty wire, it's a lighter wire . It is hanging off of the engine compartment. I would like to know where it goes? Jerry

    Nice build and work area. I'm working out of a 2 car garage with no ac. most of the time I have to back my truck out at least a few feet to get a good area to work in.

      Yeah I hear ya. If u look back at some of my first RUclips videos have will see I used to work out of a small building like a 10x12 or so. Looking back now I ask myself how I ever managed lol

    Are the transmission cooler lines the same for a 700r4 as a th350 on a 2wd c10? What part number can be used to find transmission cooler lines for the th700r4 lines for a 2wd c10. i tried to look it up on LMC no success.

    • @LonniesGarage

    speedway motors has adapter fittings for you trans

    • @LonniesGarage
      @LonniesGarage  8 лет назад +1

      I only gave $5 for these and they are the correct ones for the lines and fit the trans also. The 4L60e trans is just an updated version of the 700r4 so the fittings swapped nicely.

    • @LonniesGarage
      @LonniesGarage  4 года назад +1

      I used hooker cast-iron manifolds on this build. On my K10 that I'm currently building I'm using speed engineering 1 7/8 long tube headers.
