I don't think I'm going out on a limb when I say Rocko has to be the only Jack Russel that made 32 summits in her first year of life and number 32 on her birthday and Christmas. Thanks as always for sharing Forest and Rocko! Looking forward to your adventures next year!
Well stated. We're big fans, and hope Foresty doesn't push himself for viewers. Would love to see an episode on him just taking it easy at a beach drinking a pina colada, or his favorite IPA.
I’m so glad that you aren’t going crazy and pushing yourself. Your videos are great. Your pup is very cute. Please keep adventuring with your awesome sense of safety in mind for yourself and Roco.
Happy Birthday to Rocko! Thumbs UP to both of you, thanks for taking us along for your adventures. What ever sacrifice you have to make for Rocko , she is 100% worth it. She has brought a lot of joy into your life "and ours" 👍💯❤
Don't push yourself too hard my friend... Even if you don't make it to the top of the summit, we still are just happy to follow your journey... Success isn't the destination... It's the journey!
Happy Birthday to Rocko!! She is a dynamo :). I did not re-watch and maybe you included this … re reducing screen time: podcasts and or audible books? I am not a huge fan of audible books but I am an avid reader (also a computer programmer as my day job) so when I feel I need a break, I do listen vs kindle. I actually enjoy podcasts more if I want to listen to something vs read. One of my favorites is: “Stuff you missed in History class”. It is obscure events in story format.
Roco's soon going to earn her own Guinness world record. How does that happen? I don't think there's any other dog who's done as many mountains she's done. She's a legend.
Hey, Foresty! If you’re looking for something to do in the evenings, have you ever thought about some type of craft? You have a sewing machine and quilting ruler. You could make small quilts. Or knit or crochet. I like to cross stitch. It's not very expensive to get started and very relaxing for the mind and FUN! Lots of guys do crafts like that nowadays. 😊
"Climbing mountains is hard, figured that out years ago, but for some reason I keep doing it" same brother 😆. Happy Holidays and Happy Birthday to Rocko! Much love from the White Mountains of NH!
Merry Christmas and a happy new year. I know you’ve expressed trouble with don’t having enough to say sometimes, so we’re very much alike in that regard. But you don’t always need words. Your beautiful shots of nature do all the talking. Cheers bro.
Fret not FF, we don’t need gimmickry style shots because it’s exciting and terrifying enough in the raw. I have to keep reminding myself that you clearly made it through that impossible terrain because you’re sharing it with with us. Thank you so much for taking us along.

I just did climb the highest mountain here in Denmark this year..... boy,- what a climb. It is the Himmel Berg (Heaven Mountain). It is 172 meters high..... you know. We dont have big things in Denmark. Thanks for the video. It is awesome. Cheers.
Back in my van days I used to have my roof vent drawing air in on its lowest setting. The cold dry air dropped down and was taken into the diesel heater to be warmed. That way you're not losing hot air from the top of your van. Worked wonders and very rarely got any condensation. Seems counterintuitive that bringing cold air in would keep it warmer and dryer, but seemed so. I was only ever out in -10 tho!
Maybe it's just the camera angle but holy cow! I get vertigo on some of those shots! Another epic video. Not long enough of course but that keeps us chomping at the bit for more! 💪👌
Just get your self some of those closet dehumidifier bags, i think its basically a jumbo version of the ones that come in beef jerky bags if you had two of those on the go they should be more than enough to capture all the moisture without losing your heat. Look for the marine ones.
Honestly..the lady that catches you will be so lucky..great with Rocko..good cook...he sews..keeps the van clean ...can work on his car...the perfect package...you two are so entertaining
I have a small active dog, and have struggled to find a jacket to fit her so she can move easily. You did a great job in modifying Rocco’s coat! I may have to learn how to sew!
The make that i use for Mr Twiglet the Jack Russell is made by a company called Animate - waterproof, sturdy and easy to fit on him.Available from Amazon and probably others online.
I agree with the other subscribers, this channel is the BEST! You wouldn’t believe how long I searched to find you after watching one video with someone else that didn’t know what the name of the channel was. Your cutting board was how I knew that I had found it, so I subscribed fast before I lost it again! Thanks for all you do & all the great information…
Great video. I have to confess I abandoned your channel, along with almost all channels during the pandemic. Had to shift focus to survival mode. However, I’m at a new crossroad and your content is still entertaining and of high value, both for inspiration and knowledge. So, I think I’m back. Thank you for still being here.
Welcome to Idaho! I was excited to see the Borah summit, but that looked sketchy as hell in those conditions. I love the Mackay area and I am sure you will find much more to do in this part of the state. Merry Christmas and happy birthday to Rocko. Stay safe!
Merry Christmas Foresty! And Happy First Birthday Rocko on December 25, 2022! Rocko, I am so glad that you came into Foresty's life, and into all of our lives. You are such a joy! Hope that you got a special yummy treat for your birthday. Foresty, as you are climbing a peak do you ever reflect on the fact that you are not just climbing that mountain for yourself, but for all of those out here watching, too. Those who are too poor to ever be able to travel to the places you visit. Those who are stuck in jobs that they do not like, but due to financial and other obligations, are unable to escape. Those who are too old and infirm to be able to do it. And those who are unable to do it because of a disability. I think about this all the time when I watch your channel. This channel is an incredible gift to so many. Thank you for all of your hard work in producing these videos! God bless you! P.S. And Happy New Year 2023! Wishing you good health, happiness and continued prosperity as your channel continues to grow, and with each passing year, reaches more and more people with your messages of simple living, hope and optimism!

Yeah, your right, mountain trekking is no picnic. But you can be sure your channel is not going to have much competition and your videos and you will remain unique, one of a kind. Happy anniversary to Rocco, take care and travel on !!
I can't believe you're in my neck of the woods! I think it's funny that I've spent the last week planning out the most epic backpacking loop in the Losts for next summer--and you're just out there kickin it winter style
the blzzard video was magic. Creative video of the falling snow and cute shots of Rocko. Hearty, home cooked meals and a cozy port in the storm. No words needed. Your videos create moods and stimulate emotion. That is an art.
Merry Christmas dude, and a very Happy 1st to Rocko! She has been just a great addition to you and the channel. Safe travels, and safe and Happy New Year to you guys:)
I turned around on that mountain last spring. I later hiked with a local who was on SAR. They said they looked for a lost skier up there and found his body 6 months later when the snow melted. Borah turns people around in the summer, it’s no joke. On my trip out west Macay was one of my favorite towns
You may have not made the summit, you tried though and your life is still on this side of the pass. Your not a dreamer, you are an explorer. Thank you.
Your smile said it all at the beginning of the video. You look truly happy on this mountain adventure but I was having second thoughts for you. Glad you turned back for the crock pot chili. All the best for 2023 you two!
Congrats on the summit for Rocko's birthday! I'm like you, my brain 🧠 couldn’t take the noise anymore. I haven’t turned my TV on in years. Happy Birthday, Rocko! 🎂
"...hopefully I've got something exciting lined up...." Everything you do is exciting (to me)!!!! Honestly, even when you fix your van or go shopping, its still interesting. It's because your channel feels so authentic. Don't sweat the content Foresty - its all good!
I can't help cracking up watching and listening while you're doing the hard work. The sewing fascinates me. You and Rocco fill me with the possibilities I could achieve. I love you both, filling us all with positive energy. Would still want to hear of the window.thanks
You do it because it’s hard, your body tells you to challenge it! It’s not easy to stop climbing, moving or expecting the next challenge but it’s the adventure of trying that keeps you going! Happy birthday Rocco!

Rocko needs an open bottomed coat. This way if she needs to get warm, she can get her legs up against her body. Plus it doesnt allow snow to pack inside of it. Closed coats are like a human not being able to get their arms under the covers in winter... make sense? Love watching you and Rocko having adventures
Thanks for a great adventure for Christmas. That last rock climb on the first peak looked ridiculously terrifying. Glad you made it back safely. Happy Birthday Rocko.
So glad you survived the arctic weather event we’ve been hearing about. Happy holidays to you and Rocko. Thanks for the great content. All best for 2023 from Australia.

Good that you turned around from the main peak, rocks aren't covered enough with snow so that is the worst situation, really slippery. Awesome scenes even without the summit and Mt. McCaleb was a worthy consolation 😍😍
Just now finding this vid. I summitted Borah last August. Chicken Out Ridge is sketchy. I would not have wanted to do it in the conditions you tried, but congrats on the attemp!
Happy birthday Rocco! 🎉. Always a pleasure to see your videos pop up Foresty! Take it a little easy ..each & every week doesn’t need to be epic lol.
