      Quel commentaire pertinent et intéressant! Si seulement on en trouvait plus de cette nature sur RUclips :) Merci du contexte, c'est réellement intéressant et j'adore la remarque de Royer qui visiblement ne se prenait pas plus au sérieux que nécessaire ;)

    I can't get enough of this man's playing. So much passion and musicality, which is rare to hear in a world dominated by rather academic and cold interpretations of the music of centuries past.

      Well, at least before the piano(forte) there was no piano(forte). So you had to rock with an harpsichord. Really glad you get it now.
      As Scott Ross once stated "tu entends le boucan que je fais là ?". Jean Rondeau makes "boucan" from beginning to end. Kisses to him.

    uno degli aspetti più impressionanti di Jean Rondeau è che eccelle tanto nella tecnica quanto nell'interpretazione.
    Questo è, secondo me, uno dei brani in cui valorizza maggiormente sia se stesso che lo strumento.

    How people can listen to this marvelous composition and amazing execution of it and then write such silly, reductive comments is just crazy! Rondeau is a musical genius, of that there is no doubt, but to make such outré pronouncements of his art as I’ve read here reduces it to a cartoon. Remember, when one has no words to express about an experience, it is best to say nothing!!

      Tout à fait c'est ce à quoi j'ai pensé. On dirait que Rondeau s'est imprégné de l'esprit de Scott Ross. Tout en restant fidèle à lui-même (ce qui correspond aussi à l'esprit de Scott Ross). Loin des leçons académiques insupportables de certains.

    Genial Rondeau ! Quelle virtuosité ! Comme on dit communément "ça decoiffe"! Qu'importe que ce soit ceci ou cela , trop vite ou pas assez lent ! Le talent transcende ces avis péremptoires , au service de la musique qui ne doit pas restée figée dans son corset de tradition ....a coup sûr un grand moment de musique et un fantastique interprète !

    I'm calling the police! This is an egregious case of Harpsichord Abuse! Poor thing got the hell beat out of it! Holy Cow. Utterly amazing. The sound board got a good exercise which will relieve inner stresses and give it a more beautiful tone over time. Mr. Rondeau is my new harpsichord crush.

    Thanks for this posting. Amazing playing and musicality by Rondeau.I think this piece highlights the possibilities of the harpsichord as an instrument capable of delivering drama, joy, sadness, and intrigue feelings and a variety of emotions. Royer here, had a pinnacle of inspiration! wow!

    Très véloce et passionnée interprétation, qui fait ressortir la virtuosité de son interprète tout autant, par ailleurs, que l'excellence de l'instrument utilisé. Je doute un peu, cependant, que les auditeurs du XVIIIème siècle aient pu bénéficier d'un exécutant et d'un matériel aussi brillants !

    après tout ce qui s'est dit de compliments touchant depuis l'auteur jusqu'au musicien je n'ajouterai que mon partage avec tout ce qui s'est dit.... cette vidéo est magique et probablement une des plus belle de la musique pour clavecin du XVII° .... merci infiniement...cependant, l'instrument de grande qualité aurait merité lui aussi une mention +++ quel en était le facteur !!!!!!!

    @jozsefgyorgykiss352 drew my attention to the fact that the recurring theme of this piece is an illustration of the sound made by the hooves of horses galloping across the steppe. (The Scythians were a nomadic people living in the wide plains north of the Black Sea.) I think this is an interesting point!
