We have to know the port generation. Many manufactures build items with outdated last generation ports. That can't support modern games and content. They can be comparable with the rest of your system or completely useless if they can't keep up. Because we're already 2-3 generations forward, HDMI, Thunderbolt or DP in a review is no longer enough. Now that I think about it, there's no reason the manufactures couldn't just print the information on the port, e.g. HDMI 2.1. How hard would it be?

Hey mate! Awesome review! Will the 60W charge my MacBook Pro effectively? Will using a lower wattage solution damage the battery in any way? If it's not suitable to charge via 60W - can I use my 96W charger to power my MBP while using another USB-C to connect to this display? Doing this, will my MBP recognize to charge via 96W instead of the additionally connected 60W? Cheers
Congrats for the great delivery. I have a macbook pro M1 2020. Will I also be able to connect to this monitor using just the usb-c cable to audio/video and MacBook charging? Hey, thinking about buying this monitor for my Mac Book Pro 16 inches. I’m wondering which one would you pick between the Benq PD3220U or the LG 32UL950-W? Thanks.
Hi E, I'm hesitating between this LG 32UL950-W and the LG 43" you reviewed in a previous video. My usage is a mix of: web, coding (that is, lots of text) and gaming. On the one hand, I've found text in 4K to be generally too small (however I'm not sure what screen size that was). On the other hand, I would like to use that screen for watching Netflix from a couch approximately 9-12 feet away. Note that my current main screen is an Apple Thunderbolt display. Any recommendation?
Hey Arnaud, the 32" LG is geared towards people who do graphic work and rely on accurate colors. Although a great display, the 43" is much cheaper, yet a bigger solution that provides a lot more ports for plugging additional inputs. If you don't seek accurate colors and want to be sure you have great entertainment screen in combination with large size, go for the 43".
Do you have an update on a better LG 32 inch UltraFine 4K Monitor review 32UL950-W. Looking for new monitor in 2022 what would you recommend today, two years later?
How about standby? I have a 4K LG monitor with USB-C (27UD88) and the standby behavior really bugs me. for comparison: the Apple Thunderbolt instantly switches off and on - no grey image or any delay... that's why I have switched to my Apple Thunderbolt Display after using the 4K for WFH... I'd really like to hear your detailed experience with standby ... Thanks so much!
Hi. I have a Macbook Pro 16" and a LG 32UL950-W. I am using an Apple Magic Keyboard. Is there any option to control the volume and the brightness of the monitor with the keyboard? Tks ;)
Hey E! Just ordered this on your recommendation... moving from an iMac Pro to a 16 inch MacBook Pro. I will take a small hit in performance if it means I get to work from anywhere in the world. With that said.. when connected through thunderbolt 3... do the laptops keyboard controls for brightness and volume control the monitor???? Thank you.. I have not been able to find this answer ANYWHERE!
@@ThisIsE Wow E! Thank you for the quick response... LG REALLY SHOULD SPONSOR YOU! Haha.. man with no ambient light sensor and having to manually adjust brightness... may be a deal breaker... I was considering a dual 4K 24 inch UltraFine setup instead... but I will use the 32 inch for a few weeks before deciding. Thanks again, I mustve watched 20 different videos but yours is the one that gave me all the info I needed to pull the trigger.
I try to be objective and informative as much as possible. I’m glad I was able to help. As far as brightness adjustment, I keep all my displays at 40 and never change them. All my setups are positioned in a way that they have no direct light hitting them.
@John M WOW! Thank you.. funny thing is, I have noticed ALL THOSE ISSUES in the first 24 hours since it was delivered. The kernel panics are what is bothering me the most! I am actually switching from an iMac Pro because of the dreaded T2 chip related panics that happen every time the desktop goes to sleep. Apple is really hooking me up and making it easy for me to switch over to a different device and the 16inch mbp matches or bests my iMac Pro in almost every fcpx related speed test! So when the laptop that isn't even 5 days old started to kernel panic I almost throw it in my pool! Then I decided to take it off of the monitor for some reason and just use it with no peripherals.. no kernel panics! Soon as I put it on the monitor and it went to sleep, it kernel panicked again. Needless to say, monitor is going back to BH TOMORROW! Your amphetamine solution is how I stayed sane owning the kernel panicking iMac Pro for as long as I did... just never turned it off.... also as far as the image on the screen goes... colors are beautiful... but if you have owned a 5K iMac... the jaggedness of fonts on all resolutions will make you want to claw your own eyes out! HAHA.. it is really difficult to use something else once you've used an iMac 5K Retina display for an extended period of time. John M.. thanks again, brother...
@John M Thank you so much! I'll then get a BenQ monitor that other reviews said it had no issues with sleeping/waking up the screen. fingers crossed :)
Love the channel. This looks brilliant. Can you tell me... can it rotate to a vertical orintation? Not a deal breaker, but nice to know if it can. Thanks.
thanks for the review, very nice :) Can I ask if this monitor has any issues with Macbook Pro 16 inch (or any other of course) when going to sleep, any difficulties waking up etc? Thank you :)
Thank you. I don’t have a 16” MacBook Pro. I use a 2018 model and it works ok. The only issues I have is that the monitor wakes up in the wrong picture profile every once and a while. Haven’t had issues not being able to wake it up tho.

I recently sold my 27" mac as I wanted a monitor that I could use to plug in my work laptop and my 13" M1 Macbook Pro. I originally settled on a Samsung M7 but have quickly realised that the brightness of the display is quite poor compared to my old Imac. I am now looking at the LG 32UL750W and the LG 32UL950W with the LG 32UL950W being outside of my budget. What are the differences between the LG 32UL750W and LG 32UL950W?
"What are the differences between the LG 32UL750W and LG 32UL950W?" >>>>>> The 950 is IPS while the 750 is made with a VA panel and is half the price. The 750 specs list the Brightness at 350 cd/m²(Min.), 400 cd/m² (Typ.) /////// This should be bright enough for you.//// Yikes! The 32” M7 brightness is pathetic! Hi Iskren. Do you think its better thant the benq pd3220q? That one its ultra wide but its one of the few flat panel and has very good colour accurate. I’m considering change my 24 for something bigger. But i m not sure what to choose. Im graphic designer too, i work with photos and video. And i also do some trading, so the space and workflow its something important to me. But i dont want to sacrificed image quality. I also watch a video with the odyssey g9 of samsung that brings me more doubts than answers. Perhaps i need 2 different setups. Its hard to find something that can check all boxes. I realy like your video. Chears from Argentina
Why the hell didn't they get this screen out without the damn matte coating? It would really be a cheap replacement for the Pro Display XDR, now we have to settle for the glossy LG 5k screen which is perfect in resolution and sharpness but terribly horrible in design and for many cases very small in size
4K is the only way to go for 32" monitors!!! I got a similar 32" LG 4K monitor a few months ago. My opinion is that LG are masters at making VA panels. My 32" LG VA panel is only 7% inferior to IPS. And I do own a few IPS screens...... My VA has the same viewing angles as IPS and the colors pop out in videos. I have it sitting near a couch and connected to a desktop computer. I watch movies and RUclips on it all the time. There is lots of 4K content on RUclips. I figure that since this LG is 2ft away from my eyes, that it is the same as a 70" TV sitting 10ft away from me._________ I also use this 32" for regular computer activities. I own laptops I can go to also.
My connection from computer to monitor is via HDMI. The CPU is i5-8400. Using this i5's GPU (Intel UHD) to drive my 32" 4K by LG, and it works out just fine. I do not try to play games with this setup.

Also, those M1 MacBooks only run one external display. This daisy chain setup would enable the usage of two external monitors for M1 macs? Thanks again for the great video
Hey, thinking about buying this monitor for my Mac Book Pro 16 inches.
I’m wondering which one would you pick between the Benq PD3220U or the LG 32UL950-W? Thanks.
I haven’t had the chance to try the Benq Lucas, so I can’t really say
Great, thanks E!
What resolutions do you use this at? Pixel doubled 1920x1080 would look huge.
Nice video! What resolution do you use for your Mac?
Where do you get this ‘I am IRON MAN’ statue. Can you share the link please .
Tks ;)
Sorry but I don’t think so
Great Video !
Am I able to use this monitor on any other computers than Apple ?
Thank you !
Congratulations. I’m sure you’ll love it. The brightness is only controlled from the monitor itself.
Lovin’ the channel - subbed 👍
Thanks Bruce!
What desk do you use? It looks really nice and I´m currently searching for a new one for me.
Can I have the wallpaper from 6:10 ?
Is there no newer updated model since this review you done in January?
Love the channel. This looks brilliant. Can you tell me... can it rotate to a vertical orintation? Not a deal breaker, but nice to know if it can. Thanks.
No. I don’t believe there’s a 32” that can rotate (except for the XDR)
@@ThisIsE ok, btw the LG ergo and the Benq can.
thanks for the review, very nice :)
Can I ask if this monitor has any issues with Macbook Pro 16 inch (or any other of course) when going to sleep, any difficulties waking up etc? Thank you :)
Thank you. I don’t have a 16” MacBook Pro. I use a 2018 model and it works ok. The only issues I have is that the monitor wakes up in the wrong picture profile every once and a while. Haven’t had issues not being able to wake it up tho.
I want to buy this LG monitor. I need to know can I play my Boat 160 watt soundbar with this monitor ?
Why wouldn’t you be able to play it?
No I tried with my existing monitor with hdmi cable but its not working. I tried with 3.5 mm audio jack its working but not getting the proper output. I think monitors dont have the hdmi out port like the tv have. Can u confirm it for me ?
I wish there were more 4K options at smaller sizes (21”-24”).
There is actually, but not in that body. There’s a 24” version. Check out LG’s website under Ultrafine monitors
@@ThisIsE hey do you have a comparison between the LG ultrafine 4k 24" apple version vs this 32". ie brightness, color etc
I just looked at its specs. >>>>> The 750 came out in February 15, 2019>>>>>> You might find a more recent VA model at a good price.
How does HDR work on this? From what I've seen this does not seem to have FALD.
Amazing video! As a content creator I really appreciate the details and color tests. Interesting find about the SSD speed... I wonder if that will affect a CalDigit dock if I plug it in. I digress. Thanks again! Subscribed!
Hello I'm building a 3900x build with the rtx 3080 and I want dual monitors which would be the best flat 32inch for the build gsync capable and 1ms
I would like to know if the text is sharp like it is on 27 inch 4K monitors. Most 32 inch monitors show pixelated text :(
32 inch with 4k. A no go with macos because of 140 ppi. At least go for 163 ppi. I have noticed the difference in text!!
Is there anywhere I can find a full list of specs? I can't find anything. 1ms? How many Hz?

@@whitemailprivilege2830 oh nice, thank you!
Is it calibrated and would be nice to know the RBG %. Otherwise great video thanks.
ThisisE Hi, Could you please advise me which 31.5” 4K monitor (viewing area ~40cm x 7 cm) will work well with G-Sync (Gigabyte 2080 TI)?
LG UltraGear is a gaming monitor A K
ThisIsE thanks a lot!
Hey E, Love your coverage of this, and curious if you have any info on how this would work with a high end PC? Using the Geforce RTX GPU video card - it supports HDMI and DisplayPort connection, curious if you know anything about this kind of set up? im a game dev/Artist (graphic design , painting, Im running windows 10 pro)
Hey Quinn, I see no reason why it wouldn’t be a good fit for your machine. It’s a high end monitor so you can expect that it will deliver.
so how does it feel upgrading from 27 to 32? is it too big, is it better for you or are you thinking about going back to 27inch? looking forward for some answers from you guys
My vision is not perfect so going to 32” feels absolutely perfect. Less strain on my eyes. I wouldn’t go back to 27” at the moment
@@ThisIsE how do you like 32 compared to 34 5k2k ?
Nice video, what is the VESA mount you used:?
Hi E, doas this monitor support 4K hdr resolution when running in pbp mode. I am going to use it with a pc and a Ps5 connected in pbp mode and would like to know if it will run ps5 in 4K hdr when in pbp. Thanks a lot
Excellent Review 😎⚡️🤙
Thanks CJ
Hi, nice video. Did you have any issues calibratiing it with DisplayPort 1.4? And are you using the True Color Pro software to calibate?
E, what is the display resolution scale you use on your mac for this 4k?
It’s 4K - recommend scaling
Is 60W charging enough to keep at 2019 MacBook Pro 16" charged 100% on heavy loads?
I have these monitor for multimedia and some casual gaming and is awsome the features and color
Hey, man! Здрасти! :) I got that really stupid question - Is it possible to daisy chain two of these bad boys and use the HDMI port of my Mac Mini M1 for a third monitor? Thanks!
Thanks for the review, if we lower the specs, would you recommend LG 32UN880-B which is only has 350 nits and around $300 cheaper for video editing? thanks
I think it would be just as good
Great video!!! I just got this monitor. Holy cow it is beautiful. I do have a question, did you find the provided thunderbolt usb c cable powered your laptop properly? I am currently finding that it is saying that my "Battery is not charging" but does indicate "Power Source:Power Adapter". Not sure if you have any thoughts or suggestions on this. Let me know.
Hey Alex, what laptop are you using?
@@ThisIsE I am currently using a 2017 MacBook Pro 15" touchbar model.
I don't have such issue Alex. I'm not sure if there was a settings to turn charging on from the settings if the monitor.
ThisIsE it was working completely fine today. So weird, but it just started working like nothing. Thanks for the replies!! Keep up the great content
Thank you Alex
I think many people overlook the importance of the monitor they use. For content creation and graphic work that colour accuracy is important of course. The daisy chaining is an awesome feature 😁
Super video as always, Iskren 🙌🏻
Thank you Roger! I am very happy about this monitor. There has been this dark thought of putting the UltraWide I reviewed on the bottom and this one on top. Timeline below, preview above. If their width matches exactly, that would be too cool I think. Although I wound be able to get another one right now.
@@ThisIsE Hahaha that sounds like a very cool setup indeed. Just imagine the space you would have while editing!! Such a cool idea!
What about general use? Tired of almost every review being either content creation or gaming!
What about something a little less in price like around $550/700ish for 4K 32" Movie's and Gaming mostly.. I up load some vid's to RUclips from time to time too???
Will this work well with a custom build pc and a graphics card such as the 2080ti?
I don’t see a reason why not 🙂
Enjoyed your video.
Thanks man!
would you prefer this over the ViewSonic VP3268-4K? I need the Monitor for photo editing
Would this monitor work with the new MacBook Pro M1 Max 16 inch? Or would you recommend the LG 27 inch 5k that Apple recommends for $1299???
Can you change the brightness using the keyboard on the Mac, or do you have to use the monitor settings?
Thank you E!
Nice Review there! Quick question, do you think it is possible to connect my Lenovo T23i-10 using usb-c to Display port 1.2 to this monitor through Daisy chaining feature that it has?
Budget monitor?!!! Wondering what a standard price monitor is. Last time I checked that's the top line monitor from LG.
The title reads - XDR monitor on a budget 👨🏫
Is this still the best alternative?@@ThisIsE
great review!
Thank you 😊
Will a RUclips video or windows screen have black bars appear on either side of screen?
