There has definitely been an uptick in negative comments, I’m facing it myself and even though I’ve asked friends to moderate my comments I find it nearly impossible to get anyone to do it either. I would gladly do it for you except I can only imagine you have a billion times more comments to deal with that I do and I already ran out of time on a constant basis to try to check them all. My least favorite thing is when RUclips puts it into review and the comment doesn’t actually reach the comment section or go into studio, then it just sits there and you can’t deal with it for a good 24 hours or so until they’ve checked it. All I want to do with those nasty comments is get to the person’s RUclips channel, block them, go delete the comment, hide their notifications and hide them from the channel, but of course RUclips decides to let it just hang there where I can’t touch it, so frustrating! Recently i’ve noticed people keep asking me if I will fly to their location and how much per night do I cost? What the F? My friends have been searching and they say they found my pictures on a trans dating site of questionable origin, and the picture they used actually had the hyperlink that sends them back to my RUclips channels content, what brilliant morons did this?! They couldn’t even take the formatting off the image? My curiosity on this is rather morbid, one question didn’t so much bother me as made me laugh hard and think about it that I actually want to ask his person to their face what’s wrong with them, this person asked me if they had to pay my airfare in both directions, like if I flew out to the state that they lived in to be with them, did they have to pay for the airfare to and from my location so I could go to be with them, what are they thinking? Of course they have to pay the airfare, unless of course they purchased me on Amazon and they have prime! I don’t know, I must be overthinking it but I can understand how you want to turn off your notifications as I’m almost there myself, some days I don’t want to even look at the comments because it’s becoming rather prevalent, is it because of the election season coming up? Has it released a previously non-Internet connected horde upon the Internet? I don’t know, I’m there with you little sister, I understand, I’m sorry that these things are going on but you are facing them in an intelligent manner and asking for help, that is the absolute best thing that you could do wish that I could help more, I have ceased my moderating functions on another trans site and slow down with my comment processing as well... take care of yourself, Jackie rabbit 🐇

I am a trans woman in ireland of an older generation who is a complete luddite as regards technology. Sorry i can not help in regard to helping with you tube . I love your content but i am very old fashioned in my musical taste still i can appreciate your musical talent .keep up the interesting content.

How do you differentiate between "trolls" and subscribers who are willing to bring up a contrasting (but valid) perspective on a subject? I see so often that people just dismissively call people "trolls" when they encounter valid counterpoints that may temper their rhetoric.
I was debating on making youtube videos too, but you did hit something. The being your-self part, I get told at work to be myself but then when I think im being myself I get told that its too much for people. That I need to normalize to societies norms. So it really means be your self in our view of the world not your own at least thats how I understand it at work to mean. As far as hate there will always be that I try to understand why people are angry about something that doesnt effect them personally.
I've always felt "be yourself" was dismissive rather than supportive. I'd love to help but you need someone made of teflon and that's not me. Good luck x
To this old desert boy, being yourself means being who and what you choose to be. When I see you on these videos, all I see is a beautiful, incredibly strong young woman who is leading a fascinating life. I'm probably not the best choice to be a moderator as I have zero tolerance for haters and bullies. Hatred is born of fear, ignorance and stupidity. Bullies are cowards and it is very easy for them to hide behind a keyboard. You have incredible courage to be so open on deeply personal issues. So bottom line..... you be you and I'll love and admire you. period. no conditions. Peace my friend.
It's a shame that the comments sections are like they are. I agree on the trolls thing "don't feed the trolls, they will follow you home and eat out of your bin". Unfortunately I think any of us that don't fit into that white heteronormative picture of society instantly become a target of some sort, for some it's very subtle gaslighting right through to verbal and even physical abuse. It's a sad state of affairs. I can't help you moderate as I don't have time but I can always offer a listening ear (time differences between US Pacific coast and GMT aside) if you need it. Mel.
