You can't deny a gifted voice I don't care who's singing, I still remember being 19,20 years old a young black girl from the south driving through town listening to the radio singing a journey song, loving it, I have been a fan every since I heard Steve perry's voice, never forget his name or his unique sound, I am in my sixties and still listening to his music, you just don't forget something so amazing
AND WOULD WE LOVE TO GO BACK.. BUT GLAD WE HAVE THESE LOVELY YOUNG GREAT ONES REACTION TO MAYBE SAY WE COULD USE SOME THAT REAL TALENT. CALL OUT AUTO TUNES..❤
This song is beautiful in itself but it absolutely shows exactly how clean and crisp his voice is and just how much control and range Steve Perry has..
Steve Perry is one of those ever so rare UNBELIEVABLE TALENTS! His voice transports you right into the song. He makes you feel like you are living the words with him. So BLEST that we have been given this gift of Steve Perry.🙏💗😇
My favorite too. I'm from Northern California, and although they're singing about SF Bay, I think of the Monterey Bay with this song. So glad he's having this reaction! Just beautiful 😍
Saw them in concert in 1980. GREAT!! IT'S a shame their not touring together!😪 His voice was the same live as his studio versions. I give it up for the whole band! FANTASTIC!! don't see it anymore. 🤔🤷♀️
Journey is legendary! And Steve Perry's voice is a gift beyond compare. Listen to "Mother, Father" if you want to hear his vocal range, it will amaze you. I'm glad people notice your taste in music; turn them on to Journey and they'll realize that good music has nothing to do with color/age/gender but everything to do with your human soul!
So well said! Journey with Steve Perry should be re- discovered. Younger generations would fall madly, deeply in love with "The Voice" of generations, the incomparable Steve Perry!✨💖🤩😍🥰🎶🎧🎤
That voice just gets to you every time. Music for everyone never thought of it any other way . Strange reaction you got. Sharing music is one of lifes great pleasures.
I think I’ve commented every Journey video, what else can I say that I haven said. Steve Perry is a legend ~the band was so talented they elevated him more.
You can't go wrong with Journey... Separate Ways and Stone in Love are both 'rockers'...as well as Wheel in the Sky and 'Anyway You Want' it. Their catalog is filled with hits... Keep rockin'!! 😎👍🏻👍🏻 thumbs-up. I hope you get around to Steely Dan, I really think you'd like their tune Black Cow, crazy title ( I know ) but, killer smooth song and not what you'd expect by the name of the band or song, plus I think your homies would enjoy it and you wouldn't have to listen to it by yourself...😉😄 Cheer's. ✌
A lot of commenters are suggesting Journey’s “Wheel in the Sky.” I agree that’s a good one. Just be careful tho. If you choose a live performance the tempo of the song will be much faster than the recorded version. And I mean *much* faster! They really let loose on that one in concert.
You made me laugh when you talked about being a black guy playing Journey ... dude I’m a white women who loves Mavin Gay and Motown as well as Journey ... music that touches you knows no color
I remember taking my wife (now passed away), to a George Benson concert when we lived in Portland Oregon. He was fabulous! Music is a unifying force, regardless of color. I love your reactions! Thanks for keeping it real!
Yes! Aside. Bryan Adams had Lou Gramm as a guest in This Time. And Steve Smith was the guest drummer in Heaven! BA opened for both bands along time ago. Anyway, no Lou = Foreigner is through! No Steve = no more loyal fans to receive.
Lights and stay awhile, live - definitely worth the time. 🎼🎶🎹🎸🔥🎤😎or Feeling that way into Anytime.....also great live. As long as Steve Perry is on the stage, it’s all phenomenal. Facts.
Oh my God..I love your reaction...you are so right... His not just singing his offering a huge part of himself.. that's why you smile, or feel happy, or cry or feel down or just want to dance and sing into your hair brush. Steve's voice is one in a million, he's inspiration when is was young was Sam Cooke and you might want to check out Steve's solo work the album's Street talk, for the love of strange medicine,Traces, there was an album that was shelved called Against the wall some of the songs have been released on a best of album.. keep it up 💜 from Australia
Journey was one of those bands meant for night driving. You could go down the road singing at the top of your lungs with Steve Perry and never get tired.
I've just finished watching all your Journey reactions and it brings back so many memories of first hearing Steve Parry's incredible voice and being completely blown away by this new singer and the band Journey. Every one of his songs is a masterpiece both the studio version and live versions. What an incredible band, all these songs sound just as good today. Thank's for sharing your reaction Twon, it was a lot of fun to see a young person react to this incredible band and feeling the same way I did so many years ago. Great music will live forever, 50 years from now young people will still listen to Steve and be awestruck just as we were.
This voice was my teen years. Ohhhhhhh maaaaannnn what a voice. Getting that mush feeling? Lol. If you can see live. Even better. But some of these groups copyrights are tough and block you up big time ..ie Led Zeppelin( my favorite) had their albums..try some more Beth Hart and or with Joe Bonamassa for a change up. And Teddy Swims..so so good
I love watching your reaction videos. Journey is one of those bands that sound great in a live performance. Phil Collins and Michael Jackson. These 3 pull it off. Right now I can't think of anyone else that can pull it off.
The way you say you feel listening to journey, I still have that same feeling today and I was listening to this music when it first came out back in the early 80s. I was in high school and every time I hear a journey it takes me back to those moments in my life when I was so, so very young. And I will say that journey is my favorite band and has been since the 80s. It’s great to hear young people like you that appreciate classical music like journey and others from the 80s. Steve Perry is the voice.
I’ve been sticking with Journey for 43yrs now! I still listen to Steve Perry and his new stuff. He said he is coming out with another new album since the last one in 2018 and 2020.
Love your reactions, and I love that you love Steve Perry. He is my all time favorite make vocalist. Whenever I hear Journey I'm 17 years old, laying in the grass at Contempo Park listening to this song on my boom box. Was fortunate enough to see Journey live in 1981 when I was 17. Please watch "Still They Ride", live in Tokyo:1983 (Steve had the flu and still went out and pulled off this perfect performance), "Foolish Heart", and "I Stand Alone" are some of my other favorites. Check 'em out. You won't be disappointed. Keep doin you. You're one of the best on here
You've got an open ear and mind to appreciate Journey, a band I loved in HS. I'm 59. Tell me they really are great, and it didn't just appeal to an older generation. How I love seeing you enjoy them.
I’ve said it a million times, the best male vocalist of all time.
I agree with you but I would add Bobby Hatfield of the Righteous Brothers especially Unchained Melody in that category.
Facts!
I dunno. I might go with rob halford from judas priest
Oh Sherry,I agree
@@metallicnole4514 Freddie Mercury ♥️👑♥️

For anyone who loves a stunningly beautiful voice : Eva Cassidy.
I'm also Black and loving Journey!! Their music was the soundtrack of my teenage years.
I'm a 74years old man and I have them on my play list

Definitely hands down. I say that bc when you hear him sing live it's beyond a gift.
To me, too. Incredibly gifted, disciplined and dedicated to his music.
Mother father live Houston 1981 steve perry kills the vocals as always!!!!
One of the best live vocal performances of all time.
I agree, it really showcases his vocal range. Incredible.
He's in the same category as Bobby Hatfield's Unchanged Melody!
This man's voice is so strong and beautiful he is out of this world👍👍🤩🤩
His voice pierces your heart!
Sounds exactly the same live

Steve Perry...."The Voice"
Steve Perry put out an album 2 yrs ago. His voice is still amazing!!
The stripped back version of You Belong to Me is amazing. They just posted it recently on Steve's channel.

I differently request " Who's cry now " live version and Steve Perry " Foolish heart "
Mother Father. Live in Houston 1981. Perfection!
"Foolish heart", by Steve Perry, lead singer of the band Journey. Thisauntie ❤
STEVE PERRY is the greatest cross-genre vocalist of the rock, or any era.
Once in a lifetime discovery.
Foolish heart next!
I have heard that Jon Bon Jovi called Steve Perry "the voice" back when and I believe that Steve Perry was just that.

Winds of March to see Steve Perry's full range.
You should see the video of him in Houston singing this live.....priceless
If you really want to see a different side of Journey, check out “Mother, Father”. Best version is the live version from Houston!

Amen to that. Music is a unifying force. It universally touches souls. 🥰

This is my favorite Journey song. This is the song of my Senior year and my first love. If you want to hear the soul in his voice, check out "Lights".

Steve’s vocal inspiration was Black R&B icon, Sam Cooke. If you give Sam a listen, you’ll hear it.
Absolutely. I just recently discovered that myself. I love Sam, but Steve is my man. Oh, and they share a birthday as well
You need to react to them live. Steve Perry vocals is the bomb. Please do Lights and stay awhile live in Houston
"Lights" by Journey is a good one. "The Party's Over (Hopelessly In Love)" and "Still They Ride", and "Mother, Father".
YES! LIGHTS! My all-time favorite Journey song ❤
Be Good To Yourself is one of their bangers!
Steve Perry video Most of All (radio mix)
You should listen to Lay it Down (album version)...you cant even begin to know what Perry's voice can do til you hear that song!!!
Hello from Sweden! Like your Journey reactions! You should react to Steve Perry solo, "I stand alone".. WOW!:)
“You Better Wait” from his second solo album.
Yes! I Stand Alone is amazing. I love Steve with an orchestra 🥰
Love your reactions to Journey! They will always have my ❤
Journey is amazing!!!
Do only the young. They gave a dying kid in the hospital the first copy to hear. Straight heartbreaking.
and he died the next day.
I remember that. It really upset that band. I saw a documentary on journey and they still cry over that kid.
At this time of so much division amongst our people music is something we all come together on. Black, white, yellow, red, brown, music is universal.
NOW react to the live version of Open Arms, from the 1981 Houston, Tx concert!!
