I full motion quilted my first quilt today with no problems ( on my Jazz 2). On my second quilt I hit the same problem that you encountered. I went and rethreaded my bobbin since there appeared to be no tension. I watched the Baby Lock RUclips on threading a bobbin and I noticed that they hold down the bobbin while threading it. I did a test strip and it solved the problem. I am using 50 weight cotton thread and an Organ Needle 18/110. I need to use cotton since I am making quilts for kids in a hospital and there is a problem with the glide threads melting from repeated washings. I am a newbie, I am only on my 2nd free motion quilt. I did stitch in the ditch on the others. Feed dogs are down, tension: 6, thread length .5 width 3.5. Good luck and thanks for your videos.
I understand. I gave up and got a longarm, solved the problem (lol). I found I was moving the jazz2 too fast. I could not move the machine slow enough to prevent snags and eyelashes. now jazz2 is my piecing machine.
I can grip the quilt from the bottom up to the first knuckle of my finger. But I think I might have an idea …. This quilt is backed with fleece not cotton. I’m wondering if the thread is just snagging in the material!
I find that quilting with my feed dogs up on my Jazz 2 works well. Stitch length 0, stitch width 2, tension 6. Using generic poly thread. Working great (so far).
Thanks for the tip. I’m just learning and trying to get my tension correct for the bobbin thread. It’s my first piece so going through the learning pangs. Lol.
I HAVE FOUND : That if I use a Poly thread, the Jazz II just will not act right. So I use Aurfil thread cotton. Plus. When I let it sit unused, it tend to seize up; or get dusty inside. Where I try to keep it oiled. I hope you get those bugs worked out.
are you using a hopping foot or a ruler foot? I have found with the Jazz my ruler foot can only be a finger nail space away from the quilt or its a nightmare!
I thought my Jazz 2 might need to be returned due to the huge bird nest mess… and kept adjusting that darn tension, it’s as tight as it can go… and maybe in time the machine will decide to like me. I do love the amount of space I have. And I confess I wound the bobbins on my Bernina which is more than 20 years old.
I feel your pain!! I have been basting a quilt on my new Moxie today and had all the issues! Have you tried winding your own bobbin? I have not had any luck with pre wound bobbins so far.
Call moored sewing in California, he is selling the jazz II and a frame as a set, he should be able to advise you about machine adjustments if your dealer can’t. Obstacles can take the joy out of your experience😢
I just purchased my from Moore’s and right out of the box I am having problems with the thread getting caught around the bobbin and pulling my fabric into the plate with a warning sound. It’s brand new so, I am very disappointed with my Jazz 2. You would think it would work brand new out of the box but my little brother machine I normally use which was only $300 works fantastic. I thought I would finally move up to a supposed better machine but instead it is very frustrating and disappointing. I might have to return it and it just arrived yesterday. I will call Moore’s tomorrow which is a Monday and hopefully they will help me either fix this issue.

I would also try completely rethreading the machine
I did - twice. 😢
Whenever I have had that kind of issue with my longarm, the issue was related to the tension of the quilt being too tight on the frame.

I have a Cutie frame.

Not yet!😅
How come this "quilting machine" doesn't offer a spool holder for large spools?
