This is a great tutorial ..first time I have seen the join some this way and first time I have seen both stitches done on one side with the edging foot ..I’m gonna try this !!
1. Both are acceptable. It depends on the thickness of the quilt, but this is personal preference. 2. We suggest reaching out to your manufacturer to get that information. We don't test for other brands.
Hi Annette, In this video we used the ¼” foot, however, sewing on binding can be done using either one of the bi-level feet. To get the majority of the bulk of the binding under the foot and to the immediate right of the foot, you would use the Bi-Level Right foot. Many sewists prefer to have one of each of the feet on hand as the direction that you sew and the stitch that you choose might encourage you to use the standard Bi-Level foot.
Will Babylock be making the binding/by-level foot as a snap-on foot for the dual feed walking foot? The edge stitching foot is already available to the dual feed.
You didn’t show how to get a perfect corner or how the under side looks at the join, I think you glossed over that and you didn’t really catch the binding on the bobbin side. Also, your hand was in front of the camera and we could not see where the machine was stitching.
I noticed that as well. You could of course just hand stitch that portion. My other suggestion is for the corners. I find that it's to better to fold the left over the right, rather than right over left. That way you don't have to worry about the fabric folding back on itself.
Thank you for the tutorial, I have a sewing machine like this an I really need to know more about what can you do with tricks
Excellent tibit on corner markings.

What do you cut you binding strips at 2.25 or 2.5? Can you buy a binding foot for other machines? I have a Elna

Which bi-level foot do you use bi-level or bi-level right? Thanks

I thought the tutorial was very good, except, the instructors hand blocked the corners. I couldn't see what she was exactly see what she was doing.
thanks for the feedback!
